People mention Brass Eye, but there is also Jam which is the darkest comedy that Chris Morris did.
Chris Morris’ symbolic, prostrate gesture as the final credits rolled is a nod in the direction of either BBC Panorama or ITV’s World In Action. One of those programmes used Leonardo’s famous drawing The Vitruvian Man. The satire of Day Today and especially of Brass Eye is based on the those two long running British TV documentary programmes.
Aah, I've loved watching along to this with you guys, so much fun, thanks!
Maybe try The Armando Iannucci show next? It's on youtube, only 6 episodes if memory serves, and of course he was a co-creator and behind the scenes wizard of Day Today.
There is another Day Today audio short. It's the last Peter O'Hanraohanrahan report. It was recorded after 9/11 and It's brilliant.
I don’t suppose anyone remembers Brian Hanrahan (RIP), the newsreader who reported on the Falkland War and who was the inspiration for the Peter O’Haranraohanrahan name.
Plus the amazing conversation with Alan Partridge about conspiracy theories
Hi beautiful people.next up should be the film 4 lions.also written by Chris morris.satire on terrorism & also anti-terrorism
4 Lions is such a great film, it's a shame more people don't react to it.
Embrace the suck 21 & Josh @after work reactions did but the usual 20 minutes due to copyright.saw the film when it came out but didn't understand/find it funny.I was probably pissed/stoned or both.but short reactions helped me understand the mentality of people who haven't got a clue about anything.pro-terrorism/anti-terrorism.these idiots are all fuked up & this parody proves it
So fresh. Like a timeless song. Brilliant writing.
the Day Today is completely Fact!
The end is Chris prostrating himself at the altar of news
Was the train thing 'Lord of the Flies' applied to London commuters?
Brasseye next! (Please 😅)
I really don't understand how TH-cam policies this. The entirety of brass eye, unedited is on TH-cam as is, from a third party, yet they block a transformative reaction!
@JamesLMason it also varies from country to country. The U.S. can access much more than we can in Canada.
Have you guys seen an episode about 'Cake'? Not sure if it was The Day Today, or Brass Eye. Bloody hilarious, they even get to use real 'stars' to rail against this pretend drug. :D
Some say Strathcarnage are still playing...
Well, of course the one with the mother issues would be called John (as in "mama don't gooooooooO!")
Love peace from England
You both crack me up 😂
Beautiful ❤
Oooh, do The Thick Of It - British politics satire that eventually gave rise to the US version Veep. Iannucci's other masterpiece.
Oh the Spakhandy Choptubes investment bubble. We thought it would never end.
Such a shame about Brass Eye. The paedogeddon and drug episodes have to be seen to be believed.
Guy's you really should watch paul calf's (steve coogan) three fights two weddings and a funeral it's absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Got to do Brass Eye now - single issue shows by the same team
I'm glad you get the depth of quality, even though it's 30 years old. Watching it at the time, it was an event, we'd all watch together my mates and I, it was jaw-drop, wow, jaw drop, wow all the way. Amazing. Shame you can't do Brasseye, you'd love it. Have you tried "Yes Minister" & "Yes Prime Minister" very smart, very funny and quite subversive in it's own way. Takes apart government without being Left or Right. Performed exquisitely.
If you enjoyed this surreal British comedy master piece (and I most certainly greatly enjoyed your enjoyment of it! ) I warmly recommend another somewhat lesser celebrated British surrealist gem "Look Around You" vol 1 and 2.. It's in a similar vein and I'm sure you'd enjoy it :) PS brilliant reactions throughout the serie
This programme 😂😂😂. Brad’s reaction to the kiss 😂😂😂😂😂hahaha
Jam's definitely a comedy, just a meta-comedy. There's a LOT of music throughout it though, which is probably what won't make it by compyright, Brass Eye should make it through though.
I think that you may enjoy Quentin Smirhes. I know it's annoying when people say "man, you've got to watch this when baked" but baked or not, he's produced some interesting output. I can recommend "Quentin's day out" or "bedtime routine".
So glad you guys did this 👏
Not the 9 O'clock news xx
25:20 Indeed, thankyou good sir!🤣
So good even after all these years 👌
Just the absurdity I needed!
Just some suggestions =
You have to watch in order or you will lose a plot that doesn't exist :
"LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN "
It's a weird comedy
Lastly "Bo selector " = Michael Jackson and Craig David clips = also weird
I've also seen people link 'The Office' series with the sketch from this episode, mainly just because of the name. Sheer coincidence of course
Not only the title but also the fact it was filmed in the style of a fly-on-the-wall type documentary.
@@lukebarton5075 I suppose, but that style of doc was very popular in the 90's and the comedy potential of them wasn't exactly hidden.
Love LUCY.
It's so good
He is lying prostrate at the altar of news, his sacrifice complete
KYTV has a similar vibe. A bit less absurdity but same great moments.
Jeremy Paxman. So you can see that Chris Morris didn't stray very far from fact with his main character!

great stuff, brass eye is better
Another fime mess errrrr i meant another fine show yall did.
Hi , Stephen from the UK
So after this last episode..
I suppose you'll be up for a suggestion.. well on this recording I was in the audience .. I'm from Manchester UK .. and the Lowry Theatre is only a half hour train journey ..
This is the actual recording and it's unedited just as it was on the night .. Basic Lee is
Stewart Lee's finest hour 😅
But i would say that . I'm genuinely in shock that I was there ❤.

Pulped.
I always wonder what the context was in that aussie news thing. Why did she say he has a small bit? Why would he know about that? I'm very curious.
Apparently it was because the dude was a practical joker BTS, so Belinda Heggen returned the favour on air & then had to defend herself stating that they had deffo no romantic history, and it was all a joke 😏
Yay!
The situation on the train where they no one going to help them and they go into survival mode and start making tribes and savage instincts to survive , a bit like the movie of children stuck on a island with no parental help so they go tribal and start hurting each other and for power .
Lord of the Flies! I had to cover that book in English class back in the late 90s :)
@@bigthecat100 thank you that it i could not figure the name thank you .
My favorite book is The chrysalids by John Wyndham.
I'm trying to remember what the real story was with that train. I vaguely remember it but can't for the life of me think what it was about.
You guys, please react to the XFM ricky steve and karl episodes... there are i think over 100 and every one is going to make you piss yourselves
What does he mean by that?
😂🤣👍✌️
Hi Guys. I do love this series and your reaction videos are great to watch, Could you do a reaction video to the film "Shaun of the Dead" please if possible,
😂🤣👍✌️
😂🤣👍✌️
Still can’t believe this show is 30 years old. Total genius, and still hilarious.
