My 21' street bob had a major transmission malfunction at around 950mi. Two retainer rings in the transmission broke in half and went flying through the gears, chewed them all up and essentially needed an entire re-build on the transmission. My bike was off-line for two weeks! Factory warranty of course covered it, and Desert Wind HD were helpful, but I couldn't believe it. Love my bike, but a transmission breakdown just shy of 1k mi was a punch in the stomach! Keep up the videos.

I just purchased my 2023 Street Bob and I agree with many of your comments. The rear brake is lacking. I have added the engine guard, LED turn signals, Grip Puppies to soften any Road vibration and I added the Mustang solo seat and I kept the stock passenger seat to enable the mounting of my Nelson Rigg tail bag. The Mustang seat is great and yields a more classic look compared to the standard Saddlemen 2 up seat. I am considering the wind screen upgrade, time will only tell. I was considering the Ohlins suspension upgrade, but the stock suspension is okay for now.

Great video. In the market for a 114 FXBBS and being over 6', you're right, fairing, seat, controls, bars, the bike payments are the least concern. Looks like $3k+ in upgrades after the fact. Although, can't put a price on comfort after the fact.

I just bought my 2021 Bobby from the streets a month ago and I’m 6’1 250lbs. It is superbly comfortable. I commute an hour of empty interstate every day to and from work and it’s hard to beat. I’ve owned a couple bikes and this is the best one by far. I will say a seat is in my future but that is mostly because the passenger pillion that comes with the bike is a torture device for a passenger. The stock seat is comfortable enough to not complain about but upgrades are always welcome. The stock exhaust is always something to get. Other than that I’d say the bike is perfect. I don’t see the rear brake issue he was mentioning mine has plenty of stopping power.
