Thanks for the info! I've been doing art for some time but mostly digital, and I'm only now getting to try oil paint so I ordered a student grade set of basic colors (Schmincke Academie). I think once I'm done with those and if I still want to continue, I'll replace them with artist grade. 👍

Hi @Antony_Oscar I'm glad you enjoyed the clip and that you have started getting into oil paints. I have just looked up the paints you have bought as Schmincke are a very good brand. From the description that I read, the 'college' range are the studio brand and the Academie range are an intermediate range because are they are made with high quality pigment and are light fast so seem to be a really good choice. Good luck with oil painting journey - Have a Happy Painting Week ✨👩🏻‍🎨✨🎨✨

Wouldn't a professional artist use student grade paint to do their study paintings with?
Also maybe a student grade may be a good idea for warm up painting sessions.

@Herr_Vorragender Totally agree - I use student grade paints for studies sometimes but if if I am preparing for a large painting, I personally prefer to use the same paints as the they have the same tinting / layering qualities
