    I've heard they have very large Relatives.
    And they are very old.
    Very, *_very,_* old.
    It's a good idea to treat then well.

      But can those relatives be trusted? I've never met them

      Most amazing beings you can ever meet. The humor love and compassion they have for other beings is heart touching

      About 7/8 feet tall, have translucent cloaks and walk upright? Are these the relatives you speak of?

    I like this video. I've encountered praying mantis insects that were teachers for me, too. Is Jay, the man in this video who interacts with the praying mantis, aware that some people who've been abducted into UFOs report seeing 7 - 8 foot tall praying mantis beings on board UFOs? I'm serious, not joking. I'm not certain of the percentage of abductees who see mantis beings instead of (or in addition to) the typical short "grays", but I believe it's a real phenomenon

      They are apart of the ant-like genealogy and the hardest workers on earth. When have you seen an ant lounging around doing nothing? 😬 nope, always at work. Over millions of years they’ve become master geneticists and overseers of genetic libraries, one of them being earth. They gained respect and ranks by doing the work :)

      @Swat is Quantum they are us in the future. In the near future earth is destroyed by a cataclysmic event. The upper earth is non livable and turns into Mars like. We retreat underground and evolve into 2 different species. Grey's and mantises. Mantises are the queen and Grey's are the workers. Living underground for so long gives us insect characteristics. Go look at hoping Indian cave art. It depicts this very thing. This has happened over and over again. The hope told each other these ancient stories that become the future.

    I have been a mantis fan since childhood and was delighted to encounter them again when I moved to Ballston Spa. A friend of mine found a distressed female on her driveway and knowing that I liked these interesting creatures kindly called and asked if I would like her bring it over for me to take care of. It became my pet and
    best buddy “Chloe “ ( I had enough experience with mantises in past to know that she was a female) and settled down on my houseplants. She was fed bits of tuna or raw chicken when no natural prey presented itself and became quite calm around me. Sometime before we met she must have mated, so after awhile she created several oothecas (the mantis egg mass) and I happily distributed these outside. She was a fun companion and the only problem I encountered was the times she decided to climb the curtains to my apartments 10 foot ceiling, leaving me the the foolish looking task of trying to tempt her down. I would do it all again and hope to encounter her like again someday.

    Mantids make awesome pets, mine always loved to climb up to my head and sit for a little while before flying off to random spots in the house. I'm so sad they have short life spans, about 1 to 2 years. I miss my little Charlie. ;-;

    Mantises always like picking the highest spots, where they can see far away (their eyesight is excellent). This is why it climbed on his head.

    I don't care for the "don't get emotionally involved" mindset when it comes to animals. If you're trying to understand emotions, how another animal feels, etc then you must get emotionally involved, otherwise you'll never learn how to actually understand how they feel. We're humans, and we have emotions. We're emotionally driven whether we admit it or not. Plus, not getting emotionally involved is how inhumane and cruel things occur to animals that are legal in some areas in research. Then again, if we did get emotionally involved, we'd know that we're hurting animals with what we do to them in labs, and stop, much to the dismay of many. Getting emotionally involved like a "I wanna take it home cause it's so cute!!" is bad as well.
    There's a balance.
