Almighty can literally bypass anything and plus it doesn’t matter the action of zero effects joker it matters can’t that affect a persona because if joker thinks he attacked him if he doesn’t do the move or not his persona will do it for him so he’s going to do the move, no matter what
To anyone who cares they nerfed the hell out of Joker this isnt a fight like he said. Maruki’s persona is literally a better version of GER because he can on top of denying reality also manipulate reality to his will and joker still beat him and Maruki even admits if he tried to redo the fight over again he would still lose everytime also denying reality is still a form of reality manipulation which Joker negates out right. Unshaken Will automatically prevents the user from being inflicted with any mental-type effect, He is also straight up uneffected by Fate (Acausality) as he has broken Fate before that is the power of the wildcard + Rebellious Will makes him immune to reality warping he can basically say "no" and he is free from it, Enduring Soul heals him to full at the moment of death. He is above causality, RTZ is causality manip therefore wouldn’t work. can’t use deathloop either as joker has both reflect physical and null physical.
*"Maruki's persona is literally a better version of GER because he can on top of denying reality also manipulate reality to his will and joker still beat him and Maruki even admits if he tried to redo the fight over again he would still lose everytime"* Azathoth's reality warping ability to block the use of physical, magical (almighty included), support skills and baton passes still works on Joker and at no point in the fight does he ever negate that. Joker beating Maruki is not a sign that Joker has reality warping resistances. *"Unshaken Will automatically prevents the user from being inflicted with any mental type effect,"* In P5/P5R, it only prevents confuse, rage, fear and despair. It's not going to protect him from RTZ. *"He is also straight up unaffected by Fate"* King Crimson's time erasure also prevents Diavolo himself from being effected by fate. GER still nullified King Crimson's time erasure, the Epitaphs predictions and Diavolo. *"Rebellious Will makes him immune to reality warping he can basically say "no" and he is free from it"* Maruki's boss fight proves this false. Joker also goes back to prison the moment Maruki's reality disappears which means all the more proof that he isn't resistant to reality warping.
Also, if you look at Joker's analysis, it says he is carrying the omnipotent orb, which makes you resist every type of attack except almighty. And if we're going under the assumption that requiem specifically uses the light element, which Arsen and Alice are weak to wouldn't matter because of the omnipotent orb which resists any weaknesses a persona has.
THIS. Dude needs to seriously keep his grievances at the door. I came in knowing nothing about Joker, knew Giorno was cooked after seeing his overview, but still enjoyed the show regardless
@@tonyduong7711let me guess. I haven’t watched this vid yet, but I assume someone here throws a temper tantrum that Giorno lost (despite Joker being the common consensus winner?). If so, I won’t even bother with this reaction.
I think if you're frustrated with Persona scaling to the rest of Megami Tensei because of the scaling implications, you're too focused on the approach of powerscaling to realize the blatant connections between each branch of the franchise.
Blunt way to put it but no, I see where you're coming from. My exposure to the discussion being mostly desperate attempts to buff Persona did really sour my view on the matter but from a story perspective, there wouldn't really be anything wrong with them being connected to expand their worlds and such. Cosmology has its place in narratives beyond just dumb power scaling, my bad for making it sound like I thought otherwise.
@@pittheswordmaster926 I fully understand the frustration, honestly. Megami Tensei is one of those franchises that, if you wish to be entirely accurate to the source material, requires you to incorporate information from across an entire multimedia franchise that's over 40-years-old, and from the perspective of someone who's only familiar with one or two branches, such a scaling interpretation is much more than they would bargain for. I actually dislike the reasoning Death Battle presented for Joker's victory for a similar reasoning, even though I agree with the decision and believe the Omnipotent Orb is a valid wincon. I think Joker's identity as both a Wildcard and The Trickster not only directly counters GER, anyway, but they're also much more story-prominent abilities that are given focus in Persona 5 itself, as opposed to random, albeit valid, flavor text or spell descriptions from obscure card games.

vs Jotaro in Eyes of Heaven. Tatsuya wins but we need Eyes of Heaven Jotaro vs Tatsuya considering they both have time stop and are delinquents that learn the upsides of doing good
Araki supervised the game's story and its actually fine to use to get to know how certain abilities work, plus it just makes sense that a superior reality warper like HA DIO just lolnos inferior one like GER. Even without taking the game into account, its hard to assume GER can revert Joker's Almighty attacks that bypass reality warping defenses from beings who have similar, if not far superior, showings of reality warping.
If you read the black box that they brought up when they brought up eyes of heaven you would have read: "Eyes of Heaven was written by the author of JoJo and occurs in the series' wider multiverse. This provides necessary context for Gold Experience Requiem's abilities and weaknesses, which are only touched upon in Part 5."
Funny part is, from what I remember Joker actually had 5 win cons before this battle, with the post Analysis actually giving a 6th
