Kristyna & Romain so glad you enjoyed Mrauk U, its so wonderful but according to the Myanmar Times last year 4000 tourist visited. When I went in Feb this year I saw no more than 14 tourists during the entire 5 days I stayed! Its probably the last real authentic place to visit in SE Asia but your right in that it takes effort to get there. I took the easier route flying to Sittwe and then a 6 hour boat journey, the sunset on the way was the most stunning I had ever seen. Throughout the whole journey little boats would pull along side us and wave and then they pulled out their mobiles to take pics as I waved back.
The second temple you visited on the hillside, the one in ruins that you walked inside is called; The Pagoda of The Buddha’s Left Testicle, seriously because of the relic held inside of it.

Awesome trip! I am glad that lovely French could visited and share experience on social media and thanks for recommending other people who are interested same like you explore authentic cultural heritage place. I hope you would visit again to Mrauk-U, ancient Arakan(Rakhine) Buddhist kingdom city. However, one thing I have to say sorry that the Mrauk-U is not quite ready for international tourists because there are lack hotels, roads, infrastructure and modern facilities so on. But it was obvious worthy journey!

I just saw your video and this is awesome! I'm from the Rakhine State where Maruk Oo located, even me I've been there for only one time probably 3 years ago. It's super cool and totally different from Bagan. But quite exhausting. I think that place should be one of the tourist destinations in Myanmar. Keep the good work guys!! Btw would you mind I translate this video and share it on social media again? Cuz most of the people from Myanmar also don' know much about this place and your video highlight the best about that place. Thanks! Kristyna & Romain

But strangely enough, the Rakhines are perhaps the most similar to the Burmans

Regarding the boat ride, didn't you see he was practicing his Buddhist pose "reclining Buddha" hahaha.
