I grew up with tales of the black shuck. One summer we were camping and us kids were all huddled in a two man tent, telling stories about the shuck. Suddenly a black dog sprang against the tent side, sending us all fleeing in terror. Our mates dad had picked up their black labrador and dropped him on the tent 😂 (the dog thought it was the best game ever!)
I have a real life Moddey Dhoo, with glowing yellow eyes and a shiny black coat which lengthens into a mane about his head and shoulders. A beast of beauty and one that instilling fear upon men. He is averse to humans outside his pack (he will tolerate but not allow contact, and never allow them to pass unheeded on his territory).
Hey I’ve spoken to you before about Kitty Jay. Like I said I’m originally from Widecombe in the moor. On this topic we have a local legend about Bowermans hounds. They have meant to be heard and seen roaming the moors at night. Also I know you love Fey lore. I know your familiar with our pixies or Piskies as we call them it’s actually the origin of the word Pesky. But we have another type of pisky folk on a certain area of Dartmoor called Dinnies.
Hi there, yeah I've done about Bowerman and his Hounds in one of the other Dartmoor episodes. Thanks for the heads up about the Dinnies, I'll see what I can find out about them :) Have a lovely week, Kelly :)
If I thought 💭 that life wasn’t strange enough, me, my departed wife and dogs had a few encounters with “shape shifting” canines. OMG! The stories that I can tell, all with benign endings but, very eerie.👻
Fascinating.... my husband and his best pal had a weird encounter with a black dog, that looked just like a regular black dog.... but obviously wasn't. And the same with him, nothing threatening but definitely very strange an inexplicable!
Really enjoyed it and there is a Black Dog at Berry Pomeroy Castle in Devon. Berry Pomeroy Castle is one of the most haunted castle's in England. I run the Berry Pomeroy Castles Haunted Heritage page on Facebook with full of ghost photos and of the black dog ghost and red hound. Please can you do a video about the ghosts and spirits and black dog at Berry Pomeroy Castle. Thanks 😊
Hi there, Thank you so much for your comment and idea. I would LOVE to do an episode about Berry Pomeroy. Living in South Devon for many many years the castle was somewhere we visited so many times, the little cafe there is lovely! I haven't heard of the Black Dog and red hound folklore of the castle....intriguing! My family have a strange thing that happened at the gatehouse there so I could include that as well. I'll have a look for your page on Facebook and will start researching. Have a great day, Kelly :)
I have a mate that got into a occult practice . In this practice he gets dressed up as a medieval demon at night and uses a special tool that he got from his occult practice of 37 years . With the use of this tool in the night my mate makes shadow patterns of a black hound in the night he also makes it look like a pack of black hounds running around in the night . Sometimes he even does it on the internet live .
I think magical arts are very much under-estimated nowadays. My husband has been a practitioner for about 40 years and has some tales that are just remarkable
I've never had the ummm 'pleasure' to meet a Black Dog either.... thankfully, despite being from one of the places that there are so many legends of them from :)
I do shadow occult and in it I have a tool that lets me cast shadow patterns of black hounds I love to walk them at night . In fact there is a film on my channel showing a part of this occult art and I do it live on the internet when I have the time .
I think this was my first vid, but definitely before I could afford to get any sound equipment. At some point I need to re-edit this ... but life gets in the way!
I think this was my first video, but before I could afford recording equipment for sound. At some point I will re-edit it with corrected sound, but... life gets in the way!!
Hi there, Yes, another name for Trash is Guytrash. All of them have other names, Skriker also Shriker, Shuck also Shugg, Shug etc. But I had to choose one for each creature :)

I’ve always found myself drawn to black dogs. Black animals tend to end up with me for some reason 🤗 I’m glad for it they’re so sweet
I think it's sad so many black rescues, cats and dogs, get left behind over other colours.... I would adopt more if we had the space.

What is the tool
I learned about Black Shuck since elementary. I hope i will never encounter any of these black ghosts! 😱
Where I am from we have Skriker, and I would NOT want to meet him either!
I visited the area many years ago and thankfully did not meet any fairies or black dogs, another good story

Good video and I only learned about the Black shuck a few days ago. I hope that I will never encounter any of these black ghosts.
