I’ve just picked up one of the battle mats from battlefront and they’re great if you don’t have the supplies and all that for making one yourself
When space is a limiter mats are definitely the way to go.
amazing video dear Kaiser very enjoyable!!Great Board!
Thank you! Cheers!
American here… we have filler and call it filler. It can also go by spackle or spackling paste. Caulk tends to come in a long cylinder cardboard tube and is very thick and sticky. It is so thick it is applied with a ratcheting gun. What you have there isn’t like our caulk. It is very much like our filler or spackle.
Caulk uses here are typically to seal window glass or seams in bathroom tiled walls and a tub. It is usually acrylic and silicone based.
I love the idea of using “bird sand” that’s a quality pro-tip.
Thanks for the info.
I use a hand pump garden pressure sprayer -£2 from Poundland. Clean it out by just blasting hot water through it and you’re good to go.
Maybe we were just unlucky, but we got through 3 different types, none of which worked well at all.
I think Luke also used Isopropyl alcohol and water to thin the pva and speed up drying time.
Hmm, I think you might be right.
Have you thought about trying a garden pump sprayer for the ova misting?
Definitely will try that next time.
I use a "Freebreze" brand air freshener spay bottle I also add a drop of dawn liquid dish detergent to the mix
your game table look awesome so it was worth the effort thanks for sharing
Great tip!
War World Scenics Layering Glue in a spray bottle. No shrink. Just have to flush the bottle pump with hot water after use.
We had one of those, but it was a very small amount of spray per squeeze. Used one on the last board.

Get the new big bottle and it will spray out like any liquid from a spray bottle. I haven't found anything better and beyond durable.
Looks good! Can’t wait to see the Desert Campaign played on it. I had problems with spray bottles here in NZ too, ended up cutting the hose inside the bottle little shorter so it didn’t sit in the thicker part of the mixture and seemed to work ok
Desert Campaign in the works - need to paint the minis next!
Very nice effect, getting anything to dry quickly in England over the last few months would have been a miracle! I'd love to have boards to play on, but storage means I'll stick with cloth mats for the foreseeable future - if that changes I'll be rewatching this for sure!
Yeah, space is the enemy of almost every Wargamer I know.
At least you don't have to worry about the glue drying before you are able to add the grit.
Board looks great nice job and great video guys
Thanks so much!
Practical and informative. Looks great too. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great looking table, my friend! I enjoyed the video on it and appreciate that you were candid about the problems you had along the way. Keep up the great work!
I think the troubleshooting and problem based stuff is the most important information in these kind of videos. There are already loads of videos of beautiful finished products - but I find when I try and remake things there are always nags and issues - these are the real things a viewer needs to know to re-create a project. Thanks for watching Brother Methos.
My pleasure and I absolutely agree!
This looks fantastic! Great video!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for doing this
Thank you, for watching.
Using the kitchen sieve for hobby projects, you're a braver man than I thought Kaiser!
He who dares, wins!
Awesome project.
Thank you! Cheers!
Try a house plant mister as these give a fine spray.
That was what we were looking for, but the ones we bought didn't work very well at all.
@@ModellingforAdvantage What ratio are you using. I use 1:3 PVA to Water.
Great video, something we can come back to for ideas.
Thank you.
Looks cool. 🏜
Thank you
Dude! This is just what I’ve been looking for! Excellent timing!!! I’ve done the board, just working out the Desert but!
Perfect!
