In this weeks travel vlog, we continue our journey through the amazing Turkey.
In this weeks episode we explore the province of Rize as well as crossing the border from Turkey to Georgia
About us...
Join us on our journey as we continue full time van life travelling around Europe in our self build / self converted Mercedes sprinter conversion camper van.
We are a family of 4 plus a German shepherd Dog and a rabbit that have left the UK to tour / travel Europe and beyond.
In December 2021 we got a 1 way ferry ticket across to Calais and darted through France straight to sunny Barcelona. We then worked our way around the Spanish coast including Gibraltar then into Portugal. We had hoped to get the ferry to Morocco to escape the Schengen zone but due to the ferry boarders staying closed to Spanish ferries, we decided to take the huge road trip to the first non Schengen country which was Croatia!
Along the way we visited Andorra, Monaco, Italy and Slovenia.
We stayed in Croatia for nearly 6 weeks before moving on to Montenegro for a week, then one of our favourite countries, Albania for 5 weeks.
We then took Kev on the ferry from Albania to Corfu to meet up with Lauras family for a week. We ended up staying in Corfu for 2 weeks but although its a fantastic holiday destination, we found it really hard for Van life. Being a small island it was very touristy and busy and there isn't many good park ups so we decided to hop back on the ferry and head to mainland Greece.
We spent a fantastic 2 weeks in Greece but by this point the weather was really starting to heat up and the temperature was reaching 40c which really isn't the one when living in a van...
We checked the weather for Bulgaria and it was a lot cooler so that was our next destination. Ritchies family flew out to see us and we spent a great 2 weeks with them. In total we stayed in Bulgaria for over 3 weeks but there was always 1 country on our mind and that's where we are now... The amazing Turkey!

We are new to blogging, filming and editing, already we have learned a lot from the first few edits and have realised what mistakes have been made so we can improve each week.

At first we never imagined having tea without milk but then once you get used it, nothing beats a cup of Chai with one sugar.
That castle looked so remote, shame about the drone but that's just a sign to get a new one haha. Enjoy Georgia :)

I am from Chamlihemshin town. I hope you saw Pokut Plateau which is one of the best plateau on the world. There are lots of places in Chamlihemshin... Plateaus , waterfalls (Palovit & Bulut), mansions and mosques.
Hello Gulapoglu, We did see a lot when we were there but didn’t see everything unfortunately.
We only have 3 months in Turkey so it is hard to fit everything in but we really loved what we did see.

Thank you Steve, we were gutted but it’s one of those things, can’t do anything about it. I wish I had more drone footage of the castle though as we’d never seen one as good as that before.

I can visualize how spectacular view looking down from the top of the castle back in time.
No worries, you are not the only one who lost drones nowadays...My husband, Kayak7seas lost one in the sea...I lost my gopro somewhere on the bottom of the ocean...😥😥

Çay is a little bit like tea without milk, it doesn't sound great but it really grows on you.
Seeing as we live in Kev, we would never park him where there are no parking signs, everyone just seems to park where they like 😅
The bridge is from the ottoman era so could have been built anywhere between 1299 and 1922. There are over 20 ottoman bridges along this particular river.
We use a gimbal for our camera so it keeps the footage relatively smooth when hand held.
At 12:00 that is 2 turkish lady's with their head scarfs on so not quite draculas.. we hope not anyway 😂
Yes we lost the drone unfortunately, it lost signal behind the castle then when it tried returning to home, it flew straight into the castle 🤦♂️
We got it back that time and repaired it but then as I was planning round with it, I couldn't see it and it flew into a tree.
Unfortunately the tree was on a very steep cliff edge so although we knew where it was, it was impossible to get to.
You're right though, it was an amazing castle and one of the best we have ever seen!
Where it was a misty day, it gave it an even more atmospheric feel to it.
It's a shame about your drone and GoPro but unfortunately these things happen, I have had the drone a long time so definitely got our monies worth out of it.

First time watching, you guys are living a right adventure there....keep on the great work! Would you guys be doing a video by any chance about traveling with a pet? Was it fairly easy driving into Georgia with pets and being British? I'm currently planning a drive down to Georgia in December from Sweden as Im affected by the schengen rules...gonna be a long one but want to be prepared for the border crossings etc
