I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has had so much trouble with pants the last year or so! I think part of it is my shape. I'm 42 and I never had much of a waist but now I have more squishness in the middle. These new pants fit right in my normal size on my butt and hips but then they don't do up on my waist. I can size up and then I look like I'm swimming in the pants. What a dilemma. It's a good thing I love dresses for summer...
“I just can’t win.” 😂 I love your vids! Your hauls and try ons are much more relatable than the cookie cutter ones we are constantly hit with on TH-cam.
Omg. I am 5 feet and I was blaming my height for the difficulty I have finding pants (and other clothing) that fit. Now I see the struggle is still real for those who can buy off the rack normal sizes. And yeah, I too have had more than one rodeo clown outfit moments, fortunately in the privacy of my bedroom. What are these clothing manufacturers thinking? Returning clothes is my part-time job.
Girl you need slim figure hugging tops to wear with your wide leg pants. Your trying to wear the same tops you wear with slim cut pants it doesn’t work. The only correct or close top you had was the striped shirt
The Taylor wide-leg linen-blend trousers are some of the best pants ON has ever done. I have several pair. For the wow wide leg jeans, I recommend going up a size to get the slouchy look, and they just...sit better. I live in wide leg pants! But the Taylor wide leg pants, in all but the poplin, are a staple in my work AND casual wardrobe! Btw, ON poplin fabric show every hair, fuzz, and is a pain to keep neat looking.
I absolutely love how you're a lot like me, we want to like things that we see and most times we like to dress boring so it makes it hard to like it on ourselves. So relatable! And your hair looks lighter, it looks good on you.
Hey there! Couple notes! 1- You need to do petite sizes for your tops/sweaters/ jackets. 2- Your shape would boxy/flowy crop tops (aim to hit at belly button); in clouding jackets. 3- commit to super wide leg pants, every wide leg pant looked amazing- the tops you had are better suited for mid-low rise jeans; that why it felt too incongruous. 3- sneakers and mid high heels are your friends 🤝
Ha! I feel your pain. I can't do oversized or relaxed fit styles. I just look like a disheveled mess in someone else's clothes. It was therapeutic watching someone else struggle too (although you were pulling them off way better than me)!
This video was amazing! I appreciate your honesty and humor. I struggle with clothing, I thought it was because I was a little overweight so I lost almost 50 lbs, going from a medium to small or extra small depending on the brand. And I still can’t find clothes that fit me right so I just live in Old Navy workout shorts in the summer and Gap sweatpants in the winter. 🤷♀️
Welp, that was a realistic clothing haul. I’m usually lucky to find 1 thing. I thought the jeans looked really nice. Might have to try out some wide legs myself 🤷🏻♀️😊
Thanks for keeping it real in this video. I live in a small town and have to rely on ordering so nine times out of ten I experience just what you did in your video. So stinking frustrating.
I love Old Navy, and I actually own several of the pieces you purchased. I love the wide leg pants, and they actually look good on you. You just need something more fitted on top to balance the lower half. Try their fitted rib knit tanks (tucked in) with the white button up, cardigan, or denim jacket (in a smaller size). I’m also a fan of a good front tuck, but it works best with tees that are shorter and boxier shaped. Long ones with slits never work. Check out the long sleeved crochet sweaters. They are adorable with a matching tank or cami and any of those pants. Also the soft light cardigans buttoned all the way up as a shirt are super cute.
I think what you were missing was a slimmer fitting top and some "colors" other than neutrals. I liked the shorts and half stretch linen blend pants. You may want consider ordering the "favorite " v or crew neck tees from the Gap. They are slimmer fitting but still have the basic tee vibe. I like the way Gap pants fit better than I do than the fit of ON's. Good luck! You may also want to try more blouses. LOFT is good for those.
I have the same experiences when trying on clothes😭😭😭 nothing fits or parts fit and parts don’t. But I do love old navy and recently got a couple active wear pants for the summer!!
I like oversized a lot, so some of the outfits look super cute to me. I watch Emma Hill on YT. She does clothes / fashion and wears oversized. Hers is a capsule wardrobe too since she does mostly neutrals. Thanks for this haul! I always appreciate your hauls!
lol, old navy clothes run big, usually . Like u said it’s a hit or miss, that’s why I always try in their clothes at the store. Those wide leg trousers are so comfortable! I’m about to buy me another pair in black!! The Jean jackets, there are regular, there are cropped, and I’m sure there is one more. You’ll have to try the right one. They have great things but yeah, you have to try them on.
Shopping is a chore for me. After trying on 10 things that don’t click I might find one thing I like but can find tops that work. At that point I leave store empty handed, go home put on my jeans and tshirt and admit I don’t really want to update my wardrobe. The one thing you liked was my choice for you..good fit and comfortable.
I love old navy. You are just doing the proportions wrong. The navy pants would look great with a form fitting top and a much shorter tighter fit jacket!
Girl you are so funny! You made me laugh 😆 Your video is me 100% of the time trying to dress 🤣 everything I try looks.. mehhh and then I try to mix and match and nothing looks good. Then I get sweaty and frustrated looking at all the clothes I gotta fold or hang to put away, then end up wearing the same ol outfit, black leggings and a tshirt 😪🫠. I really enjoyed your video and would love to see more of this. Save me and give me outfit ideaaaass! Thank you! 🙏🏼
Hurts my feelings that you said you have a lack of shape, you are in excellent shape!! And have a great figure! Very toned legs and slim and you should be proud of yourself. I liked the first outfit, the jeans are so cute! not a fan of the white shirt or the black pants tbh. I like your reviews! Very helpful, I found you by looking for reviews on aerie as I got a gift card and wanted some help with the fit and good products! I’d love to see another aerie haul soon! :)
Thank you! Ha I just have a more athletic straight shape but thank you for your kind words! Thanks for watching! I was impressed by Aerie and will likely do another video!
I recommend tucking your shirt in more and adding a belt. I think another thing to note is scale, you look petite to me (I’m 5’10 so everyone looks petite to me 😂) and oversized tops engulf you(especially with wide pants). When pairing with wider leg definitely need to have a smaller top/jacket to keep your shape. You look great though, and I actually liked the wide leg blue pants you put on. Enjoy your vids as they are relatable! ❤
I think most of these would look fine on you if they fit right. I am waiting for a shipment from Old Navy right now, with the linen pants in it. Thanks for the preview ☺️
I have the elastic waist linen blend pants in about 6 colors from previous years ( although they used to have a drawstring which i liked in the waist). They are a summer staple for me here in Georgia. I wear they with nicer tank tops or sleeveless tops and sandals all summer.
@playingthemomgame Fantastic! I think you will like them! Just have to get used to something new! I like an ankle length or long pant with a sandal in summer! Hope ypu enjoy them!
go to the store and try things on. I think some of these things could be really cute in the right sizes. Unless you know your sizes in their clothes you are better off going to the store then ordering online. I think you think you are bigger than you are and order clothes too big. Belt the dress, tie the shirt, and since most of the pants are too big, I think you could go down a size and be fine. Think outside the box. We get stuck in a rut the older we get. I lost a lot of weight from being ill and now I am a size 4, could maybe do a 2 in some things, Tops small or XS and I used to wear a L or XL. It has taken me a while to realize that I am smaller than I thought I was. Trying on in the store you can take several sizes in with you. I think you need to go in. Some of these things could have looked really cute with some twicking
I gave up on ON long ago. That being said though, I do occasionally buy from them. I like their High-Waisted PowerSoft Combination Taper Pants in the cream colour, but honestly, ON is mostly a miss for me.
Love your videos! I think you should try this again, maybe at another store. It was fun! I agree that Old Navy is hit or miss on size. I have to get the petite to make the armholes fit better and they're sometimes still too big! I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe and I feel like I'm always shopping in hopes of making one and failing miserably! 😄 But let's not give up! I wish this had worked for you!
Yes! I really do want to have a capsulish wardrobe but it's harder than it seems for some reason! I felt like I kind of had one for fall and winter but for spring and summer I am starting from zero!
Old Navy is very hit or miss!! I’m 5”5 and order many things in a petite length online. They just fit better. I do LOVE the vintage tshirt. The white vintage tshirt is great!! (And not see through lol)
It's hard to know! Usually tops are oversized and even in the size small they are still big. It's the look they are supposed to have but I just wasn't feeling it!
My husband can't understand why I order clothes online and then return most of them - he should watch your video. I love how you do try and make outfits work 😂
I feel you about getting the right fit . Its difficult for sure . The jeans jacket in your size i bet would look great . Why trying the tall sizes ? I thought tall is like over 5'7 I bought a tall jacket from j bean and wish i would of bought a regular size instead but that is all they had . I have found they are out of alot of sizes that really fit right ✅️ in all brands . I do better trying them on before buying. I like old navy but finding the right fit isn't easy 😕
This was hilarious 😅😅 I want to be your friend and also this was almost more of a old navy roast than anything else 😂 maybe if you order down a size in everything it could work hahah
You can't do oversized everywhere. Either it's tight up top and loose on bottom or vice versa. Otherwise it's makes you look frumpy. All the pieces are great basics. The sizing and styling is off. Like, don't dress like the old navy models. Just like the pieces and make your own style that looks good. The denim jacket is too big. Period. Try a larger top with black leggings. Try a halter/sleeveless bodysuit with loose linen pants. Add a belt to cinch your waist. Get out of those d@mn Birkenstock slides(they are like house slippers) and put on some leather gladiators or leather fisherman sandals. Voilá.
I think you made a mistake in ordering the dress, cardigan and denim jacket in size tall (especially getting a large in the jacket). If you didn't want them cropped, then just keep searching for a non cropped alternative. I would assume that tall sizes are made for women who are at least 5'10". I liked the 1st jeans and tank outfit although think it would look better with the cardigan cropped, and I liked the other pants but think you need to pair the loose fit or wide leg pants with more fitted tops. I think you found a few items worth keeping.
Exactly my thoughts. With wide leg pants you want a more fitted or cropped look on the top for balance. Size down and get the regular not tall sizes. I usually size down 1 on anything ON that says oversized as well.
The large tall jacket was definitely too big, not the look I was going for! I was worried it would be too cropped. I did order it again in a size medium so I'm thinking it will be better!
This comment made me laugh. I got the tall in the jacket because I have one that is cropped that I don’t like so I wanted to get a little more length, but it was a little too much extra length! Same for the dress but I can totally see how you would think uh oh as someone much taller than me! ❤️
you said you have a hard time finding clothes... ever tried Shein .. there summer sale is great .. I love the shein Curve . New follower.. enjoy your videos
I have 3 pair of the Wow wide leg jeans. I love them but the front pockets drive me crazy. What in the world can you put in a 2 inch pocket? A chapstick, maybe….
Awww I think you had a lot of cute stuff but just didn’t put them together in a way that would look good. I have a lot of the same stuff (except the wow jeans - not my fav from old navy) and I wear a slightly fitted tee with the wide leg pants. That white tee looked was kinda oversized so they didn’t look great with the pants. Also, if you’re into skinny jeans and looking to branch out but not too far out of your comfort zone, try the OG straight ankle jeans. They’re a slimmer fit without being tight and they look great with a tank and the boyfriend button down over top!
I think I have some old navy wow straight leg jeans and they are cute! I would really like to find a pair of wide leg cropped jeans for spring and summer to wear to work with sandals. I'm still looking 😃
@@playingthemomgame oh I just bought a pair of copped wide leg jeans from H&M a couple of days ago. I got them in white but they have blue too. And have you tried Old Navy extra high waisted cropped wide leg jeans? They’re nicer than the wow. And yes, the wow straight leg IS nice, I had a couple but donated them this year to make room in my closet!!
I think you might be a size 6...at least at Old Navy. :) The first jeans might sit higher on you (like you said you wished they did) if they were a size smaller. It wasn't until last year that I realized when trying on jeans at Target that things weren't fitting right because I actually needed a size smaller. Which is like, counterintuitive or something. LOL
The Birkenstocks. Those ruin any look. Also you need to work on balance. Wide on bottom tight on top. If you go all wide you look like a box. Like SpongeBob
Maybe wide legs don't flatter you? Straight and flare jeans might be more your style. I always struggled with skinny jeans because of my butt and thighs, but now I'm loving the wide legs.
One problem I saw in the video is you were pairing loose-fitting items together. Generally, I think if you are wearing flared or loose fitting pants, you pair it with a fitted top…or if you wear fitted pants, wear a loose fitting top. Two baggy pieces of clothing will usually look unflattering together. Adding some fitted pieces into your collection of mostly baggy clothes might make a difference.
Oh man. Most of that was just, well, awful. You have a super cute figure so try another store. Old Navy is just cheap, fast fashion IMO. I still enjoyed watching you get eaten by ginormous clothing! 😀
I understand “Tall” order for dresses, longer length, but why tall in a jacket! You have such a cute figure, you can show it off and still look like a mom….in a flattering way!
Ha, I know, I didn't need the tall but I feel like all the denim jackets are cropped and I was trying to make sure it was a regular length. Turns out that jacket isn't that cropped to begin with... Thanks for your comment! 😊
⭐ *I went TO Old Navy and tried on clothes in THIS video!*

This is how real life try on hauls go. Thanks for the honesty!!
Yep... but I'll be trying again. Glad you enjoy the real-ness of this! 😄
That's why I like shopping in person at the stores to try on before I buy. I hate doing returns.
Agreed - especially denim. You have to be able to physically see the different washes.
Pants can be so frustrating! I agree dresses can be the most comfortable!
Same😢
Those were some pretty awful clothes. Never had much luck at Old Navy, F21, etc.
You are refreshingly honest and real. New subscriber and I'm loving your videos.
Thank you so much!!
“I just can’t win.” 😂 I love your vids! Your hauls and try ons are much more relatable than the cookie cutter ones we are constantly hit with on TH-cam.
Thank you! I also watch and enjoy other creators and this is just my take! 😃
"I just can't win".... thank you for showing me I'm not the only one who goes through this when clothes shopping!!! Really appreciate your candour!
Not the only one by a long shot I think! 😁. And thank you!!
This is comforting to me as well.
You actually had me laughing out loud! Totally enjoyed this honest haul.
omg , just cracking up.. love the video
Me too! She’s fun!
Love it! That’s exactly how I feel when I try on clothes😊
Right?!
Girl you need slim figure hugging tops to wear with your wide leg pants. Your trying to wear the same tops you wear with slim cut pants it doesn’t work. The only correct or close top you had was the striped shirt
Agreed: Old Navy is always hit & miss. Love your channel!
Thank you!!
This is what it’s like for me too when I order Old Navy. I’m glad you went to the store to try on more.
Me too! Looking forward to putting that video together 😃
This video perfectly summed up how I feel about shopping for clothes. When did it get so hard? Thank you for your honest review.
I absolutely love how you're a lot like me, we want to like things that we see and most times we like to dress boring so it makes it hard to like it on ourselves. So relatable! And your hair looks lighter, it looks good on you.
Yes exactly!! I am determined to find some nice clothes for this season and take that boring up JUST a notch 😁 and thank you!
Omg- I love how real you are!
Yep. Quite real 😂
Honest feedback wins every time, for me! Thank you for that.🎉
You are so welcome!
Haha! I’m glad it was therapeutic! 😂 It would be much more productive to go to the store I am sure!
Thank you for this - going to try on in store tomorrow. You're right, ON is so hit or miss.
I hope you had some luck! I went to the store and found a few items as well 😊
This video was amazing! 🤷♀️
I’m so glad you liked it! You’re not alone in the struggle!
I love the navy pants!! They look great
I liked the T shirt dress with the ivory cardigan on you, also the black linen-blend pant
Welp, that was a realistic clothing haul. I’m usually lucky to find 1 thing. I thought the jeans looked really nice. Might have to try out some wide legs myself 🤷🏻♀️😊
I did like the style I just need to find some that fit my body better and I’m sold!
They are adorable with a matching tank or cami and any of those pants. Also the soft light cardigans buttoned all the way up as a shirt are super cute.
I ordered the denim jacket in a medium 😃
I love your videos and watching your channel grow!
Thank you! I love recognizing people like you in my comments! ❤️
Yes I needed a slimmer fit top for sure. I was trying to do a more neutral start and thought I could add in color once I was set with some basics 🙂
I have the same experiences when trying on clothes😭😭😭 nothing fits or parts fit and parts don’t. But I do love old navy and recently got a couple active wear pants for the summer!!
That is exactly my experience with these! I have found nice items there though and they do have nice active wear!
Black ruffle shirt with tan shorts, yes. Black pants you liked with striped sleeveless t, yes. Smaller denim jacket and linen tee, yes. ❤
Haha yes and yes! I ordered the denim jacket in a smaller size 😊
I like oversized a lot, so some of the outfits look super cute to me.
I watch Emma Hill on YT. She does clothes / fashion and wears oversized. Hers is a capsule wardrobe too since she does mostly neutrals.
Thanks for this haul! I always appreciate your hauls!
I will have to check her out!!
I enjoyed seeing all these pieces. I like the linen shorts, might have to pop into ON and check those out this weekend, thanks!
I did end up keeping the linen shorts! They are comfy 😃
lol, old navy clothes run big, usually .
The one thing you liked was my choice for you..good fit and comfortable.
You are so cute and I love your honesty.
😊 thank you
I love old navy. You are just doing the proportions wrong. The navy pants would look great with a form fitting top and a much shorter tighter fit jacket!
I love how you keep it real❤. I have the same luck with Old Navy. Their sizing is way off!!
I personally LOVE Old Navy. I suggest you take a friend and go instore to try things on. Yes I do agree that ON runs large.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Yep you described my usual experience! 😆 I may have to try this again with another brand!
I’d try the Jean jacket in L-petite or XL-petite. It would elongate you.

Thanks for your tips! I was called petite once in my life and it was when I was pregnant 😂
I think most of these would look fine on you if they fit right. I am waiting for a shipment from Old Navy right now, with the linen pants in it. Thanks for the preview ☺️
I agree! I hope you like the linen pants!

@playingthemomgame Fantastic! I think you will like them! Just have to get used to something new! I like an ankle length or long pant with a sandal in summer! Hope ypu enjoy them!
go to the store and try things on. I think some of these things could be really cute in the right sizes. This video summarizes why I’m struggling so much with current fashion and my body shape fitting into it
It is a process! I will say I went to the store after I filmed this and it was much easier to find items that fit.
Omgoodness you are such a crack up! 😂😂😂So I am not alone on the with the outfit thing 😂😂😂
Not alone at all! 😃
This is how all my old navy online orders turn out too 🤣 thanks for the fun and honest haul!!
Haha glad you enjoyed!
I gave up on ON long ago. That being said though, I do occasionally buy from them. I like their High-Waisted PowerSoft Combination Taper Pants in the cream colour, but honestly, ON is mostly a miss for me.
I give up and then I go back! Then repeat 😂
How about rolling up the Jean jacket sleeves?
That might have helped but it was just too oversized. I did order it in a medium and I think that will be better!
I just ordered that one to try! Thanks!! It's hard to find white t-shirts that are not see through!
Mm, so sorry. This is why I rarely buy clothes online. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed.
That adjustable waistband is for after you eat! However, they look like PJ bottoms.
I find I have to size down at Old Navy. I think they're trying to make us feel good about ourselves but it often leads to problems like you faced.
It's hard to know! Usually tops are oversized and even in the size small they are still big. It's the look they are supposed to have but I just wasn't feeling it!
You're hilarious! I love your videos!😂
Thank you!! 😄. I'm glad you enjoy them!!
My husband can't understand why I order clothes online and then return most of them - he should watch your video. I love how you do try and make outfits work 😂
😂 that’s online shopping for you! We call it “shopping at home” 😀
I feel you about getting the right fit .
Its difficult for sure .
The jeans jacket in your size i bet would look great .
Why trying the tall sizes ?
I thought tall is like over 5'7
I bought a tall jacket from j bean and wish i would of bought a regular size instead but that is all they had .
I have found they are out of alot of sizes that really fit right ✅️ in all brands .
I do better trying them on before buying.
I like old navy but finding the right fit isn't easy 😕
I just didn't want them too short, but I was wrong!
Old navy is very hit or miss. Their Fit & Flare Cami Midi Dress are my favorite summertime sun dresses.
just found your channel... you had me at rodeo clown vibes. hahahahaha!!
😂
New to your channel! Love your editing. What program do you use? Thanks :)
Welcome!! I use Final Cut Pro and I'm learning as I go! 😊
Try a front tuck with the jeans and tank. I think it will give more of a waist. That’s what I do!❤
I also love a front tuck! The tank was just a little too tight and short to tuck but I usually do!
This was hilarious 😅😅
I want to be your friend and also this was almost more of a old navy roast than anything else 😂 maybe if you order down a size in everything it could work hahah
I'm glad you enjoyed!! I did go to the store more recently and found items I liked! I will be sharing in another video 😊
The first pair of jeans look fabulous on you ❤ too bad you don’t like 😢
Clothes is ok!!! Just size down, and add accessories 😅
🤣🤣🤣 “You could tuck a whole pillow in here.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂 lots of room!
I have the hardest time finding clothes online, they are either too big or too tall.
You made me LOL !!!!
Haha I'm glad!
Clothings from this store runs BIG. Shirts are tricky, some have very wide sleeves.
Go for darker jeans.
Question, you're 5'6". Any reason you are choosing tall in some things? I'm 6ft and was thinking uh oh when you pulled out the Jean jacket.
This comment made me laugh. I got the tall in the jacket because I have one that is cropped that I don’t like so I wanted to get a little more length, but it was a little too much extra length! Same for the dress but I can totally see how you would think uh oh as someone much taller than me! ❤️
@playingthemomgame 😄 I hope you found a good one since!
Omg, you made my day. Laughing with you. Everything was way too big, or over sized.
So glad you enjoyed this video! 😁
You are adorbs! Typically like ON stuff, but I don't think this haul did you any favors. Most everything was too oversized. Let's see the next one!
The loose jeans fit better than the wide jeans.
you said you have a hard time finding clothes... ever tried Shein .. there summer sale is great .. I love the shein Curve . New follower.. enjoy your videos
I have never tried Shein but I probably should!
I have 3 pair of the Wow wide leg jeans. I love them but the front pockets drive me crazy. What in the world can you put in a 2 inch pocket? A chapstick, maybe….
That's funny I didn't even notice the pockets! I guess I don't usually put much in jeans pockets except maybe a chapstick!
I can never find anything that fits right from old navy
I really like Old navy, but I would suggest to always size down.
I find “Old Navy” clothing sizing is huge and boxy.
LOL
That does seem counterintuitive! I sometimes do wear a size 6 in Old Navy, it kind of depends!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who struggles
This is why I never clothes shop online. I like Old Navy, but always have to size down, compared to several other stores.
I just can't win!
I feel your pain!
The Birkenstocks. Those ruin any look. Also you need to work on balance. Wide on bottom tight on top. If you go all wide you look like a box. Like SpongeBob
😂😂😂. I love the clown comparison.
Right!? 😄. I know I was wearing it all wrong but that's what I felt like!
Old Navy is sized so big lately but once you find your size, stick with it and you will feel much better.
Send everything back except the white shorts, you should consider sizing down and buying more structured clothes. You have a great figure ❤️
The lesson here seems to be try everything on to check if it fits you.
Maybe wide legs don't flatter you? Straight and flare jeans might be more your style. I always struggled with skinny jeans because of my butt and thighs, but now I'm loving the wide legs.
I do love the wide legs maybe just not the extra wide ones!
Do this video after getting the right sizes. Most of your issues were sizing.
Personally, for my basics I would go to a quality store.
Both wide leg pants would look nice if they were longer. I don’t like pants that look like you outgrew them.
Years ago we we use to call those kind of pants high waters. 😊
Rodeo clown vibes!😂😂😂
😂
Pretty much nothing you got there fits. Hmmm.😊
Oh man. Most of that was just, well, awful. You have a super cute figure so try another store. Old Navy is just cheap, fast fashion IMO. I still enjoyed watching you get eaten by ginormous clothing! 😀
I needed to buy multiple sizes to try I think but didn’t want to triple my purchase 😬 I’m glad you enjoyed! 😆
