  • Thanks to MTA Maryland's Administrator (a busfan himself) who was nice enough to charter now retired Flxible Metro E #9526 for the day to tour discontinued loops and Bus Yards for photo stops. The video showcases the various stops and sections ridden through the day

Someone really should preserve the last of these Flxibles. They're an important part of transit history. That bus looks damn good for 15 years old.

I wish an American bus manufacturer could start making a new Flxible Metro. They were my favorite buses.

Me too. I first rode on a new 35 foot 1982 Grumman 870. A Flxible owned by Grumman. The 870 is the same model as the Metro.

MCI still holds the rights to Flxible. I don't understand why they didn't brought Flxible back in the game. It's useless to have the rights of something that you're not gonna utilize it. Its been sixteen years six

They were good running buses and better than the new buses today. To me, the Flexible buses were magnificent and still part of the Metropolitan Baltimore.

Damn! I really do miss the buses from the late 80's and 90's (and some in the early 2000's). They just don't make 'em like they used to. Now it's all about the hybrids and cleaner engines which don't even come close to the raw power of the classic 2-stroke Detroits and the Series 50, along with the earlier style Cummins engines. Curse you EPA and doggone hippie environmentalists!

That air starter is loud. I hope this bus finds a new job.

Sorry, press send to quickly. It's been sixteen years since the last Flxible Metro came off the line. Hmmmmmm, what's MCI thinking.
