  • All the gods turned to Lord Vishnu for help against the Rakhshasas but he was unable to fight them alone and sought Lord Shiva's assistance. However, he found Shiva in a deep trance and decided to pray for him until he came out of it. Vishnu offered a thousand lotus flowers every day while chanting Shiva's name for years until Shiva finally emerged. Unaware of Shiva's awakening, Vishnu continued his chanting and realized one flower was missing , as Shiva decides to play a trick on Vishnu, and secretly removes one lotus from the bunch that Vishnu had arranged. To show his devotion, Vishnu offered his eye, and impressed by his dedication, Shiva granted him a boon. Vishnu asked for the power to defeat the rakhshasas and Shiva gave him the Sudarshana Chakra, a disc capable of destroying anything.

Hindu religion is so beautiful. There is no one who claims "My God is superior to yours." In fact all Gods are devotees of each other. Vishnu is a great devotee of Lord Shiva, and Shiva is a great devotee of Lord Rama. And all Gods fail to do anything without blessings from Lord Ganesha, and Lord Ganesha is a devotee of Devi Adi-Shakti Parvati, who is in turn a devotee of her husband Lord Shiva.
Everything is interconnected. No God can sustain the world alone. This emphasizes the fact that humans are social creatures, and even the person whom you think is the greatest, looks up to another person whom you may not even know.
And the reason why no one God claims to be the supreme God? Because they are all the same. Born of the same Parabrahman - That which was, is, and will be.
    Jai Sri Ram 🙏

*No Did Lord Vishnu become supreme by the blessing of Lord Shiva?*
Lord Vishnu existed way before Lord Shiva . So it's pointless for Shiva to give boons to his creator. Ordinary inferior god like Shiva is not comparable to Narayana
Vishnu is the final god and his origin is not known to even Brahma who is the first creation of Vishnu . It's also hinted in Bhagawat gita and Yajurveda
You are Purushottama. You have not been vanquished. You are the Vishnu who wields the sword. You are the immensely strong Krishna. You are the leader of armies and villages. You are intelligence. You are the spirit. You are forgiveness. You are self-control. You are the origin. You are the destruction.
You are the one with one hundred tongues. You are the great bull. You are the sacrifice. O scorcher of enemies! You are vashatkara. You are omkara. No one knows about your origin or your end.
      *Valmiki Ramayana critical edition (6-105)*
Brahma explains to him that Vishnu is the original god who can't be vanquished and even explains the origin of Shiva who was sprung from the wrath of Vishnu in all of previous kalpas
The four-faced Brahma, capable of being understood with the aid of only the Niruktas, joined his hands and addressing Rudra, said,--Let good happen to the three worlds. Throw down thy weapons, O lord of the universe, from desire of benefiting the universe. That which is unmanifest, indestructible, immutable, supreme, the origin of the universe, uniform, and the supreme actor, that which transcends all pairs of opposites, and is inactive, has, choosing to be manifested, been pleased to assume this one blessed form, (for though double, the two but represent the same form). Through some reason best known to Him, I myself have sprung from the attribute of His Grace. Eternal as thou art, for thou hast ever existed since all the past creations, thou too hast sprung from His Wrath. With myself then, these deities, and all the great Rishis, do thou adore this displayed form of Brahma, and let peace be unto all the worlds without any delay.--Thus addressed by Brahma, Rudra forthwith cast off the fire of his wrath, and set himself to gratify the illustrious and puissant God Narayana.
*The Mahabharata, Book 12: Santi Parva: Section CCCXLIII*
Krishna himself explains that Rudra is created from his wrath to Arjuna .
Protected by me in the great battle, thou hast won a great victory. That Being whom, at the time of all thy battles, thou beheldest stalking in thy van, know, O son of Kunti, is no other than Rudra, that god of gods, otherwise called by the name of Kaparddin. He is otherwise known by the name of Kala, and should be known as one that has sprung from my wrath.
*Lord Shiva himself explains that Vishnu is his creator in Mahabharata Anusasana parva 148*
"Maheswara said, 'Hari is superior to the Grandsire himself. He is the Eternal Purusha. Otherwise called Krishna, he is endued with the splendour of gold, and shines with effulgence like a second sun. Possessed of ten arms, he is endued with great energy, and is the slayer of the foes of the gods. Having a whorl on his breast, he has curly locks of hair on his head. He is worshipped by all the deities. Brahman has risen from his abdomen. I have sprung from his head, All the luminaries in the firmament have sprung from his hair. From the bristles on his body have sprung all the gods and Asuras. From his body have sprung the Rishis as also all the eternal worlds. He is the veritable abode of the Grandsire and the abode of all the gods besides. He is the Creator of this whole Earth, and He is the Lord of the three worlds He is also the Destroyer of all creatures mobile and immobile. He is verily the foremost of all the deities. He is their master. He is the chastiser of all foes. He is possessed of omniscience. He exists in everything. He is capable of going everywhere. He is of universal extent (pervading as he does everything). He is the Supreme Soul. He is the urger of all the senses. He covers the universe. He is the Supreme Lord. There is nothing in the three worlds that is superior to him. He is Eternal. He is the slayer of Madhu, and is otherwise called Govinda.
      *Anusasana parva (148)*
Vedas also declare that Vishnu is the first creator and the only god that existed before Brahma and Shiva
      Vishnu:
      *Mahopanishad of Samaveda
I-1-4.* Then we shall expound the Mahopanishad. They say Narayana was alone. There were not Brahma, Shiva, Waters, Fire and Soma, Heaven and Earth, Stars, Sun and Moon. He could not be happy. From the (desire of) the Paramatman, the Yajnastoma (hymn known as Avyakta) is said to have arisen.
As it clearly says Narayana alone was there. So he is the creator of all. *Also in Taittariya Aranyaka of Yajurveda 10.13.*
Narayana is the Supreme Reality designated as Brahman. Narayana is the highest (Self). Narayana is the supreme Light. Narayana is the infinite Self. [Narayana is the most excellent meditator and meditation.] Whatsoever there is in this world known through perception (because of their proximity) or known through report (because of their distance), all that is pervaded by Narayana within and without.
As it says "whatsoever in world is simply Narayana"... so the stories describing creation by Brahma and Shiva are simply the creation by Narayana as everything is Narayana.
In fact in some kalpas narrated by Brahma even Agni is referred as older than Rudra . Its mentioned in Anushsana parva

Shiva and Vishnu are both unique and equally powerful in their own ways! When the gods from Indra's court have any problems, they go to either Vishnu or Shiva. Mostly the former because Shiva many times has granted the problem maker some sort of boon or is in meditation so he can't fight them so Vishnu finally helps. And other times when Vishnu is already helping the gods yet some sudden issue arises Shiva helps (eg. drinking poison from ocean while Vishnu's avatar was balancing the mountain beneath the ocean). So basically both help each other out. And yes, the sudarshan chakra is with Vishnu since the beginning.

The point is Vishnu is protector energy. Shiva is destroyer energy. All energy's source is maa.
Here, as a human if one is too protectful, he may not have the energy for destruction like Arjuna had affection and destruction energy was lost... So we need destroyer help to increase our destroyer energy.
As per yoga, we all have 12 major chakras. Sudharshana chakra represents our will to destroy and Vishnu represents control to destroy. So our agna, basic, crown and solar plexus chakras had to be in controlled way by devotion and proper virtues... The universal law is by giving only one can receive..
We all need to understand and application of the underlying metaphysical science and wisdom behind all these stories, rather than just a story or myth. We need to apply this in our lives by regular meditation, mantras etc...And accceptance.
All cultural libraries.that had all kind of sciences and devotion had been completely destroyed by many rulers, like takshasheela..

@@AbhishekBaishya Did Lord Vishnu become supreme by the blessing of Lord Shiva?
      Valmiki Ramayana critical edition (6-105)
The Mahabharata, Book 12: Santi Parva: Section CCCXLIII
Krishna himself explains that Rudra is created from his wrath to Arjuna .
Protected by me in the great battle, thou hast won a great victory. That Being whom, at the time of all thy battles, thou beheldest stalking in thy van, know, O son of Kunti, is no other than Rudra, that god of gods, otherwise called by the name of Kaparddin. He is otherwise known by the name of Kala, and should be known as one that has sprung from my wrath.
Lord Shiva himself explains that Vishnu is his creator in Mahabharata Anusasana parva 148
      Anusasana parva (148)
Vedas also declare that Vishnu is the first creator and the only god that existed before Brahma and Shiva
      Vishnu:
      Mahopanishad of Samaveda
I-1-4. Then we shall expound the Mahopanishad.
Also in Taittariya Aranyaka of Yajurveda 10.13.

    SHAIVA SECT NONSENSE AGAIN
Shiva is NOT the Supreme Being, it is NARAYANA, the Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharatha & Gita are crystal clear on this, no matter how adulterated they are from SHAIVA / SHAKTI SECT input

No you guys twist vedas , ramayana and Mahabharata, shiva is lord of Rama and Ravana , he is maheswar , he is swayambhu ( the self created ) , he is pareswar , krishna asked arjuna to do penance on Shiva for pasupathastram and also asked pandavas to do penance on shiva towards the end , shiva is also known as pasupathi (lord of life ), he burnt manamadha (kamadeva) , his wife( maa parvathi) and sons ( Ganesha ,Karthikeya (murugan) , Ayyappa) are so celebrated and worshipped in india , every village in india got shiva and shkati temples , you guys are minority fringe elements in hindusim , there is no large scale vishnu worship in india before middle ages
