No real reason other I preferred the simplicity of the vent to atmosphere. However, some street car regulations might require a recirculating setup, so you should verify this before you buy one!
Really cool setup! Can't wait for the end result. In the video you mentioned that the second can will be modified to power steering reservoir. Could you please provide more info/knowledge how you are planning to do that? Also what type of line are you going to use for power steering and fittings, given that it is a high pressure system? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!!!
Hey, I haven't quite gotten to it yet, but I'm going to be cutting a plexiglass cover to replace the vent to atmosphere filter, and then I am replacing the dipstick with a small vent I bought off McMaster-Carr. All the lines are going to be PTFE, some of which are Vibrant Pre-Assembled crimped lines. This should hopefully do it!
@@kyle_RX7 Great! Thanks a lot. I am also planning to replace all the lines in my car and am currently going through the Vibrant catalog to gather parts.
Often times stock vehicles might recirculate after a MAF, but generally for performance vehicles that have been tuned, recirculating after a MAF might throw off the tune, especially if there is acess air that isn't metered. For this reason we typically just recommend recirculating before the MAF any plugging any post MAF ports
Can't wait to hear this car driving!
Is there any reason why you didn't recirculate the catch can?

What radiator was used for the V mount set up?
Great video guys! Clean editing, great shots, crispy audio and most importantly rigid information! 🙌🏿
6:03 I think he meant to say after a MAF sensor not before, at least that is how every Nissan I've owned has had it from factory.

Are catch cans required in Dry Sump setups ?
Every application will vary, but generally yes, it is often still required as you can still build crankcase pressure.
