    Why does it flash the truck in front so often? My Audi's Matrix lights do that sometimes, but only when a Mercedes is in front 😂

      Cause, as usual, they focus on pointless gimmicks that don't even work properly instead of focusing on the actual Tech. That's why Tesla managed to do it better in a software update than Mercedes in 5 years of making specified hardware for it.

    • @dennisba85

      Because it's a Mercedes. They flash cars in front of them as standard

    • @ElliotSen
      @ElliotSen 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The truck’s right taillight is not working so the automatic high beams are coming on as the car is passing under certain lighting conditions that causes it to think there is no car in front momentarily.

    • @achilles-live
      @achilles-live 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ElliotSen that should not happen, and further proves my point of Mercedes becoming a gimmick company rather than actually doing stuff properly.

    Why do I want my car to tell me to change lane? Or it flash that when I turn on my turn signal, so that I won’t forget that I was going to change lane? I’m completely baffled

    • @anneliese187
      @anneliese187 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      i think thats a good reminder to change to the right lane with a nice safety distance. in germany its the law to drive on the right lane and mercedes is obviously a german company.

    I am amazed how poorly the Matrix function works in the newest Mercedes. Note how high beams "flash" the truck in front of him couple of times. Very disruptive and illogical.
    I am driving 3 years old Matrix design from VW and never noticed such a strange and wrong behavior.

    • @stahlschorsch
      @stahlschorsch 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My guess is cause the truck's right tail light is out so the system doesn't reconize the two red dots as a car in front. Only as soon as the light shines on the reflector, it turns it down again

    Talk about dumbing down the driver. Drivers already don’t pay enough attention to the conditions around them, and now they’ll be even more lax because “the car does it for me”. More zombies behind the wheel.

      @@onesteeltank And that's the problem - these are things the driver should be using their eyes for, and engaging their own brain to notice. If the car does it for them, they become complacent. Complacency leads to inattention, over-confidence, and avoidable accidents.

      @@commodorenutOr countries should just stop allowing idiots who should never drive to get a drivers license out of necessity due to a lack of transit infrastructure. The issue doesn’t lie in making driving simpler, there are immense benefits in having assistive systems when they are used correctly. You don’t see anyone arguing against automation and systems which assist aircraft pilots. Give people more options to get around so they don’t have to drive a car out of necessity when they wouldn’t otherwise want to. No reason why you can’t also tie in a driver awareness monitoring system (which is already included to an extent).

    When searching for a new replacement for my old Toyota Yaris, I was browsing the whole market especially for something similar in size but way more powerful, combining supermarket and short distances 200km to 350km...for longer trips using my RAV4. The prices on some of the options from Mercedes and Mini were ridiculous, around more than 70k Euro/75k$...the price for a full option Clubman....or a Merc A 250...unfortunately Mini are famous for their unreliability and so is Mercedes in the past years...to pay this money and then to stress myself that I would have service the car regularly would have been stupid of me....ended up buying a Yaris Cross for 40k....in 13y of owning a Toyota I have never taken one in service except for oil and filter change...Yes no blink blink no bells and whistles but no BS either...I have all the safety packages just as my 7y old RAV4 4x4 the only difference is HUD and HOLD on the newer...the rest is the same...driving assistant..lane assist...BSM...adaptive cruise control...alerts when I am tired, sound and visual and vibration in the wheel..heated seats...etc etc etc plus 5 NCAP stars on both cars....I don't fly so I drive a lot from Scotland to Romania and from Germany to Spain and Italy...I don't need blink blink I need reliability for that....but still 70k to 90k or more for a small car that you will use mostly for short commutes and Supermarket ...and service.... is just stupid....and seeing this video I know why....if these European powerhouse don't wake up from their dream of making ridiculous expensive vehicles for just a small percentage of the market, they will soon fail....the competition is crazy good these days and prices on some models are just right so this greedy frenzy will be their doom... and I don't want that as this will mean disaster for EU's economy...
