Have to get a theremin one day. Don't know if I'll be any good though. The theremin seems to me that if you're good at the patting you head with one hand, and rubbing your stomach with the other, you'd have a head start with it. I have trouble with patting my head and rubbing my stomach. 😅

Do you have different finger Positions for major and minor (and other) scales? because after moving your hand in the middle of the song, you would play wrong notes with the same scale.
You should play Harmonic Voltage by Wayne Lyttle. It fits beautifully and has some funky glissandos

Unfortunately, although we're now in an age where microelectronics are cheap and plentiful, no music instrument manufacturer thinks of making a cheap but nicely working theremin for something like 50€. Although with proper mass production, the value of material and parts could probably be kept at less than 10€. Even Chinese electronics companies don't seem to care about this wonderful instrument, although they usually produce anything that fits onto a circuit board or two.
Fortunately, we live in the age of Open Source. Check out the OpenThereminV3 by GaudiLabs.

I have a Moog Theremini, and I've been learning your 8 position technique. It doesn't work thought, when I try to shift to another octave. I'm assuming it's because of the change in distance of the pitches as they get closer together when they're closer to the pitch antenna. Is there a setting to get the other octaves to have equal spacing?
There's a pitch correction, not sure if it is of use, but i thought I'd put it out there.
There is a need to adjust the size of the "box" (field around the pitch antenna) - adjust it so that YOUR desired range has perfect spacing. For instance, I do not care how the highest octaves are jammed into an inch or so close to the pole - because I am not using them :-) I am NOT a traditional musician so please ask if I have not explained enough! #divergentDirections

Doesn't pitch vary as the square of distance from the right antenna? If that's the case, do you need smaller movements between notes in a higher key?
That's what i've been asking myself too. Like the frets of a guitar are getting closer. Maybe its something different because its about electric capacity and maybe not only a matter of physics and geometry....
I could be wrong but I think some theremins have a "linear mode" so you can play a proper scale
The better Theremin models (the ones serious Thermin players use) come with a linear field, meaning that the pitch is corrected to work with constant distances between notes.

What is this theremine's model name? It's nice designed and i cant find it anywhere :/
That's the former Moog Etherwave Pro. It's replaced by the Etherwave and Etherwave Plus.
@@V3nom7 It's really too bad they changed the model, this one is so much more beautiful. The new one looks like a plain square box, which it is. no design what so ever. I also wanted to find this one but learned it was replaced by the ugly one that is on sale these days. What a shame.
Question. I just got a Theremini to start with...
I have a Titanium plate in my right wrist... would that affect it the antennae? I can get sounds moving back and forth, but can’t seem to get individual notes yet, or is that just practise?
I did all the instructions for collaborating, etc...

Where's the rest of the song? You only played 'somewhere over the rainbow bit' - with all those position numbers makes it seem far more complicated than it actually is.
