I have known about this for more than a decade, and only this September, did I finally get around to watching it. Listening to this extended theme, I honestly do not know why I didn't get into it sooner. This theme gives nothing but a positive vibe.
This theme, along with all the other cult classics like Thundercats, He-Man, Silverhawks and more, bring back wonderful memeories of my childhood. Thank you soo much for this.
I'm 52 years old and all these childhood musical compositions puts me in a good mood. It represents when times were simple these cartoons came out when I was 13 14 years old right Now I'm a 52 year old man for children still intrigued in marveling at this in the privacy of my own vehicle! LOL! As an adult you just realized that a lot of these Musical composers were freaking geniuses riding the sheet music for these Productions and time constraints for the studios that were airing these creative and Innovative magnificent cartoons. 💯👍🏾

One thing I would find interesting is if they do a live action movie on Voltron maybe like his origins like where did King Alfor get the idea for building a giant super robot in the form of 5 robot lions each in a different color and how the battle between the people of Planet Arus and the evil forces of the Planet Doom began upto Voltron getting split into his 5 parts and the death of Alfor and Allura's mother and the subjugation of Planet Arus by the forces of doom right upto the part of the very first episode of the series where Keith and the team arrive to help.
This triumphant orchestral symphony RAISED ME. I fully credit Voltron Defender of the Universe for making me the fair and objective human I am today. I am of the mind that mass shootings would reduce 47% if every US citizen were to be issued a Voltron DVD set. Yes, even season 2. ;)
I would go even further and say, the whole Voltron cut has a much better story telling than the original Golion cut. And this is very rare! Just don't watch it in English, the English dub is a nightmare 🙄
Voltron, He-Man, Thundercats, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and countless others. We had the best cartoons ever made in the 80's. I'll pit my He-Man or Transformers against your Steven Universe any damn day.

This is the best 80s TV cartoon theme music ever!! Better than Saber Rider better than M.A.S.K. The only thing that even comes anywhere near this is the Galaxy rangers theme.
You know I feel, that had the Netflix series had this theme it would have won over everyone of us (regardless if the shitty writing after season 2) who grew up watching the OG. I mean look at 2011s version Voltron-Force. They had a bland....... updated version which fans didn't like so they brought back the classic and everyone watching loved it.
Same here! I was 2 when it first premiered, even heard stories how I was potty trained with the reward of Voltron goodies. Then years later I was introduced to Guyver which led to others like GitS, Battle Angel, and others in the 90s.

Voltron-3D had it, Voltron-Force had a updated bland version which fans really didn't like - myself included because they switched it to the classic version. I think regardless of the changes done, I think the Netflix series would have resonated with fans like us had they used this theme every time they showed the full formation of Voltron.
Decades later and this instrumental gives me chills just like when i was a kid. Epic.
