29:30 Govind prabhu says that there's no such term as slavory in vedic culture, but there was only mentality of a slavory. But in Krishna Book , in Srimad Bhagavatam there are many statements about slavory. And as much as I know there were slaves. Even if we take Pandavas and their dice game. They became slaves of Duryodhana and were obliged to follow his orders. I am sorry but it seems like Govind prabhu has idealistic view of vedic culture in regard of slavery. Govind prabhu also says that there were no meat eating in vedic culture. But it's also idealisation. Even Srila Prabhupada writes in his commentaries that there were such facts like slavory and meateating in vedic times. SB 1.15.16
"He (Karna) asked Draupadī to select another husband because, being lost by the Pāṇḍavas, she was rendered a slave of the Kurus."
SB 9.18.29 "Śarmiṣṭhā served Devayānī like a slave, along with thousands of other women". Remember the story about Harishcandra and his wife. They were selling themseves as slaves. SB 9.7.20. "Thereafter, in the sixth year, after wandering in the forest, Rohita returned to the capital of his father. He purchased from Ajīgarta his second son, named Śunaḥśepha. Then he offered Śunaḥśepha to his father, Hariścandra, to be used as the sacrificial animal and offered Hariścandra his respectful obeisances." SP comment: "Millions of years ago, animal sacrifice and slave trade both existed. Indeed, they have existed since time immemorial". Regarding meat eating. We can just study Ayurvedic scriptures and find some descriptions of meat dishes...
And it's very wrong statement that that what you eat is a private business. It's a very very wrong statement. If you eat me, then how it can be your private business. It's the biggest mistake due to which meateating is supported even in modern society. It is very wrong understanding of vaishnava philosophy and it does not correspond vaishnava ethics and etiquette. It's very big misunderstanding. At one hand we say that animals are the same citizens of a state, and they should be protected, at the other hand, we say that meateating is private business. It is.... a double standard. It's not good.

See the context of the talk.
Vegetarian non vegetarian existed simultaneously. They would Evolve towards ahimsa from himsa.
Slavery and dasatva have big difference. No slave could be prime minister appointed by his own master like Vidura. For understanding the discussion one has to see from local context than what the other cultural have discussed differently. Idealism is never the path. It’s harmony between practical and idealism. Listen to vegan talk by same author.

@@SatyagopinathDas :) Thank you for the comment. But you are not Govind prabhu. You can't be responsible for his words and the context of his lecture. You can give to others only your own vision and your own interpretation. I am sorry. You can explain the context only of your own lectures. Therefore I am not inspired to discuss with you here this topic. But if you feel brave then you can address directly to me in FB. And there we can discuss Govinda prabhu's and your misunderstandings and misinterpretations in details. Hope then you will understand who doesn't understand context properly and who doesn't see difference between slavery and dasatva, and who misinterprets information. You missed Govinda prabhu's points, Srila Prabhupada's points and my points, too. :) So, please, first listen attentively to the Govind prabhu's lecture again, read Srila Prabhupada's commentaries, read Srimad Bhagavatam, read my message and then only you will be ready to discuss the topic. All the best.
