Tbh the AA saying he was wrong at the beginning is the difference between high and low rank dota.

It lowers the net worth of the owner and also the buyback amount. Meaning whoever own the item has buyback but doesnt have enough gold, hoping that when the item is destroyed they will have enough gold
when an item is dropped your networh stays the same and your bb is a % of you networth. but when the item is destroyed your networth is adjusted so if you had a 10k networth and it costs you 1k to buy back. you destroy an item thats 2k gold your networh drops to 8k so your buy back is 800g instead. it was an all in play by the enemy trying to have them destory his item so hecan buy back and fight back as they knew they will finish the game. it was done in a TI before
