People always expect Israel to bring the "ethnic" sound in their entries, but you guys really need to understand that most Israeli music sounds like that song, especially the ones written by Keren Peles, who's a beloved singer in her own right! There's also "Mizrahi" genre in Israel, which is more "ethnic" or middle eastern sound, but that's a completely different style. Israeli music is extremely diverse, but music like this one, whether it's quiet or upbeat, is pretty much sums up the kind of music Israelis prefer to listen to on Israeli radio...
Yes. The mizrahi genre is the most common one but not with ballads. At least not nowadays.

Mizrahi music is popular in parties and weddings, but if you listen to radio stations like GLGLZ, which is one of the most popular radio stations in Israel, most of the Israeli music there is not Mizrahi, but the same style of Keren Peles and other popular Israeli singers like Rita, Ivri Lider and young ones like Noa Kirel, Mergui and Ana Zak... There's nothing wrong with Mizrahi music, I just think Israelis would choose Israeli music over Mizrahi music any day!
@@GPBKM i was talking about our culture as a whole and the most popular music genre people listen to. Not the radio stations choices. Ballads aren't the most popular type of music unless it's sad or spritual/religious.

@@GPBKM i didn't say Mizrahi type was the only liked one. We have everything from everything we are very diverse but that one is the most popular one. Maybe it's an age thing? I'm 25 and this is my reality but it won't be the same for 50+ years old. Their reality was/is soo different than today. back in the day there was a lot of musical discrimination unlike nowadays (:
