I love this performance more than any other: Janine is superb but so is the orchestra and conductor. Jarvi is so sensitive to her every expressive nuance. She plays with just the right mixture of tenderness, passion and drunkenness, especially in the Finale where I'm sure Tchaikovsky intended this. Thank you so much for allowing us to hear it. A complete joy from start to finish.

Love how Janine puts all her heart in it. You can tell she's a chamber musician by subtle cues like 18:12 when she directs the orchestra with her body language. Great violonist, great conductor, great orchestra, great chemistry!
She brings everyone along for the ride especially in Chamber Music. Even with my favorite Conductor Paavo both so connected to the music. I really think she gets the best out of the everyone. This is a difficult bit of music. I’m not a big fan of some of Paganini’s work but that maybe because I’m new to classical music so difficult I feel that he was a bit of a show off. However, the more I listen to it the more I like and enjoy it. And she is stunningly beautiful as well.

I think she's the best, and most talented violinist out there. She also happens to be a gifted conductor as well. Look up her Vivaldi Four Seasons where she plays lead violin and conducts. It is simply the greatest rendition of Four Season ever. I've heard Four Seasons countless times, including live, and nothing comes close. She as also my mother's favorite violinist and my mother played violin. The thing that impressed my mother most about Janine was the way she moves her hand up and down the neck/fingerboard and uses her pinky as if it were another finger which is not easy. My mother always said one of the hardest things to do is keeping your left hand loose without bunching up your fingers. I have a sneaking suspicion that Janine is either left handed or ambidextrous. she can play the entire neck with such ease, which is one of the hardest things to do in all of music.

One man's "too quietly" is another's "wide dynamic range" (from further down this page). Here's what I hear. Jansen is that rarest of artists who understands the value of understatement. She insinuates; she suggests. She has world-class technique, and she's a very passionate musician, but she never tries to overwhelm. She never withdraws, but she does hold back. And, for me, it's bewitching.

I have listened to Joshua Bell, Hiliary Hahn, Sophie Mutter, and Julia Fischer perform this piece. They are great no doubt but Janine Jansen delivers this piece the best in my opinion. She captures the very essence of this piece and its so heart-wreaking.

A beautiful rendition of Tchaikovsky's masterpiece by Janine and Järvi. The orchestra was extremely well played. Meanwhile, Janine always become immersed in the music, obsessed, passionate, gentle, fiery, demonic, yet simply magnificent. It's a joy to watch her play, and her striking beauty only enhances this sublime experience. Bravo!

This is a level of artistic and technical mastery that gives me goose-bumps! I adore her playing, her phrasing, tonal variety, subtlety, energy and total artistic commitment. She literally becomes the music. The excitement and joy she brings are sublime. I also think this is one of the most outstanding orchestral accompaniments I have ever heard in a concerto - wonderful playing in every section and solos to die for. Terrific conductor. It's a rare privilege to experience this level of music making.

Very nice performance but too soft (volume) in the beginning and other places and slower than most, even she and the conductor willingly conspiring to vary the tempo. But it doesn't really matter to me as I've enjoy this piece and played (most of) it for 60 years and will quite obviously, never...get tired of hearing it. And I loved this one too. I am a violin slut, so I am pretty easy.
I am both enchanted and intimidated by how this lady plays her violin. Unreal and superb!
