I'm glad Granny understood and supported her. I'm glad she did find someone to love and cherish her. Even though the MIL originally didn't like Vivian i'm.glad Vivian had that honest talk with her about everything to clear up any confusion before she left. I'm also glad the MIL took action with her son and that mistress. She blamed them, not Vivian. A life was lost because the baby's father was entangled and scheming to get rid of the mother after giving birth. Whether he changed his plans or not, he created this chaos and should suffer the consequences of his bad actions/plans. Monica also deserved to be kicked out and marrying someone else. Her scheming was useless. Jason can only grieve and regret. Karma is not nice.
Actually that's not 100%, his monologue later showed he regretted agreeing to Monica about the baby right after, and only did so out of pity at the time. He also said he genuinely only liked her as kids. Too bad, that means he wasn't lying.
When a person says: "give me a chance to make it up to you" then, everything they say and do is only to ease their guilt, hence, for their own selfish reasons and purposes. Jason saying that there is no romantic love between him and Monica is a lie, a lie to bind Vivian for his own selfish purpose and plan. A man pining for his old flame, openly or secretly is always a no-no for a boyfriend or a husband.
