Your conclusion was spot on. You probably should have swatted up on the specifications of the 2" Keene back pack dredge. It is nowhere near a 6 hp motor but a 2.5 hp motor. The 4" suction dredge is a 6hp.

Cheers thanks a lot. Sorry I would’ve just asked my mate or given it a quick google search prior and just read whatever came up first, I did think back and go 50cc dredge motor? 6hp, nah bro that’s probably not right lol. Thanks heaps

Just got a 2" myself and am learning the ropes. For me I prefer to run in deeper water with a wetsuit like you're sniping, easier to clear out all the 2"+ rocks. It's a ton of fun, glad you guys are trying it out!

I have always wondered if anyone out there has thought to try or has tried using a garden fork while using these little dredges loosen the "patch" of ground up and "sieving" the ground before hitting it with the dredge...get the bigger rocks outta the way faster while cleaning them off... I know it's another thing to carry lol

It would definitely work quite well, the time we went out with a 4” we bought a fork and it worked pretty decent, they are a bit of a pain on the rocks though, works well in principal but isn’t quite as perfect in action, but was still very useful. Thanks for watching!

Mate, if we could in Oz, it's a great final clean up option, get on it.👍👌🇦🇺

It would be cool if the tubes were inflatable to take up less space

Yeah definitely, your only issue is they would be really easy to damage and rip the places you often go.

Thats actually a badass idea, then just use old denim jean legs to protect inflatable from inadvertant rough grinds across stuff.

How much fuel did that set up use mate?

Next to nothing, all afternoon dredging we went through maybe a couple litres at most, maybe not even that, it was negligible either way.
