CUPHEAD Characters: Weak to Powerful ☕💪
Cuphead, a game stylized after rubber hose cartoons from the 1930s… Was pretty popular back in 2017 when it first came out, and now, in 2022 it’s having a bit of a resurgence. With The Cuphead Show being released on Netflix and the Delicious Last Course DLC supposedly coming out this year, we’ve finally decided to talk about it. In a game about slowly stronger bosses, it only made sense to ask, who’s the strongest in Cuphead?

To be fair to Chalice, you’ll be able to play as her and she will have the some of the same abilities as Cuphead and Mugman. Plus a few unique ones as well.
Yeah but she'll have a completely different form in the dlc and the video only covers her ghost form.
Ms. Chalice would be at number one with cuphead and mugman since she will be playable but I still think cuphead and mugman will also get the new abilities

Understandable that king dice isn’t that powerful since his minions to the work but that’s what makes him the king, hell that’s what makes all kings powerful it’s all thanks to their loyal subjects
Yh but dice's placing is complete crap. His powers are actually amazing. First he can teleport, seen after you finish an isle and go to the Die House. Next he can change size, because he's much bigger in his bossfight than in the Die Houses or cutscenes.

It comes as a surprise that the main characters Cuphead, and Mugman are the most powerful characters in their own franchise. I never played the game, but I'm pretty sure if they break into pieces they'll just put themselves back together.🍵❤💙🥤
Mugman is actually the strongest. Before the patch, he could be cloned multiple times, allowing the Mugman army to obliterate all the bosses.

I have a question I don't think anyone has answered yet: what did the bosses sell their souls/ sign contracts with the devil for? Some are obvious such as fame, bringing a robot to life, gaining magic powers or ownership of something, but some are more abstract.
Like who?
The real question is why they sold their souls to begin with knowing the devil could’ve came back for them. Cuphead and Mugman did it on accident.

I haven’t played it, but it think the bosses would mostly be the order you encounter them in, with how video games work.

I feel like Pork Rind should rank above the root pack. Only one member of the root pack can actually do anything similar to walking and Pork Rind can most likely not be stopped by weed killer (although it’s probably still dangerous to him). Also, pigs LOVE digging up root vegetables.

In a sense it would make sense why cuphead and mugman are in 1st. Their vast array of unique abilities, special moves and movements make them quite formidable. Not to mention that technically these 2 didn't have any combat experience til they got the potion. And even then they weren't Good. But as the game progresses, they get stronger and more capable of fighting the bosses. Bosses btw who have different sets of skills, tools, and powers that makes it rough for our cup Brothers.
they shouldn't be first. their magic is lacking compared to others. they had to buy it and get it from potions. and my final thing is they only win when given infinite chances to try again so that isnt fair to the bosses.
@s.a.t.a.n6216 there magic defeated the devil, they don't need to buy other weapons they can still go through the game with there first ability. The death thing is game mechanics.. so that doesn't count at all
Actually, Elder Kettle is the strongest one, since not only is he a decorated war hero, but he gives the boys the powers that makes them so tough in the first place. Without him, the game would be unwinnable.

This list is gonna need an update when the dlc comes out since Legendary Chalice and Ms Chalice are the same person and Ms Chalice is just another player character like Mug Man meaning she should be somewhat equal to their strength

Canon is canon, but if we treat every player death as a separate reality, there are a thousand times more where Cuphead dies. I think the only boss the average player doesn't die to at least once is Root Pack.
Nah Goopy is arguably easier than even Root Pack

8:48 well, cuphead and mugman are literal cups, so they must be pretty small. this is also shown in cala maria's death animation, with the violin/viola/string instrument thing being much bigger than them.

Words cannot describe how much of a pain in the ass Dr. Kahl and Rumor Honeybottoms were to fight.
EDIT: Only now I just realized that Dr. Kahl is undoubtably a reference to Milt Kahl, one of Disney's Nine Old Men (and probably the most influential of them all). Being based around that era of animation, it can't be coincidence.

I just beat the game on Sunday and have been doing expert for now but have had a great month of cuphead and love the popularity coming back
this didn’t age well at all, the chalice is probably the best character in the dlc.

4:16 Cagney is NOT the final boss of Inkwell Isle one, as the contract list says that Ribby and Croaks are the last boss to be completed on the isle, and they are also closest to the Die House leading to Isle II. Not to mention, Hilda Berg and Ribby and Croaks are both considerably harder in my opinion.
Idk for u but even if i fought Cagney last, Ribby and Croaks was the hardest boss in world one for me. Hilda Berg i killed in 4 tries and Cagney in 7 i think. Ribby and Croaks was a pain in the @$s for a newbie like me
I love Cagny and will therefore defend him: he most definitely can move, as shown by the ending cutscene where he is miles off where he was fought. He is easily the most powerful foe in Inkwell Isle 1, ESPECIALLY more than that WORHTLESS Blue Blog thing, who can punch and bounce or a bloody BLIMP. That's not more powerful that bullets, thorns and Cagny's other tools such as his face
I'm with you, Cagney's feet are shown on one of his moves implying that he can move at will anyway. So he should be much higher than freaking Wally.

I’m not sure how many other people know this but similar to the root pack when you skip Ollie Bulb you can skip the puppet phase in Djimmi’s battle by shrinking when he scans you so there’s a smaller puppet and a harder last phase

He grows feet.
He LITERALLY can grow at supersonic speeds (For a plant) As shown in the final phase,
He is the only actual boss that messes with your vision via attack,
It probably takes a lot to make seeds levitate/fly
AND.....
He has the most epic dance ever.

Brineybeard actually fell off his ship right after the phase when the ship throws lasers.
I think pork rind should be way higher up due to him being the one who sells the potions so he obviously could in theory have power like the boys just a bit slower due to his bigger body
