The Garden Party 2014

This year's Garden Party was another success and raised over $350,000. 100% of these funds will directly benefit four worthwhile charities who are working hard to end the stigma and deal with the root causes of Mental Health challenges: Canadian Mental Health Association, Juno House, Calgary Counselling Centre and Wood's Homes. As always, thanks to The Calgary Foundation for their assistance processing and guiding the Garden Party funds to the four charities listed above.
In 2013 we added in a last minute initiative to encourage donations for flood relief after the devastating floods hit Alberta. This year we decided to follow suit and continued with the donation of $1 every time the hashtag #OMGP (Oh My Garden Party!) was used. This year the #OMGP donations went to Enviros -- a social service agency that has a range of programs to keep families safe and encourage them to reach their full potential.
A huge thanks goes to this year's performers - Cowtown Opera, Mackenzie Porter, Don Amero and Brett Kissel - as they collectively made the evening memorable. And a very special thanks to Kelly Hrudey and his daughter Kaitlyn along with Barb Ross and Cindy Radu for sharing their very personal and challenging journeys in the world of Mental Health.
