People should be comparing this movie to Batman Begins not the dark knight. It’s a bit unfair to compare a first instalment with a sequel. Let’s see Pattinson’s second movie and his Joker and then we can talk. This Batman for me is much better. Costume is better, his fighting is better, he seems smarter, and his voice is much more superior to Bale’s. That’s good enough for me. I like the bat mobile better too. The villains all gave sublime performances, so it comes down to personal preference. Christian Bale in BB wasn’t exactly a sophisticated Bruce Wayne either. Alfred warned him just like in this movie that people need to start seeing him in public or otherwise they’ll start wondering what does he do with his time and money. In the TDK he was already nailing the Bruce Wayne persona. I suspect we’ll see the same with Pattinson.

Speaking about Robert Pattinson, One of the things that I noticed is that as Batman, his stance and demeanor was confident, straightforward and bruting, but in many of his Bruce Wayne scenes, he was changed. His shoulders were slumped, his back was slouching, his Bruce Wayne came off as apologetic at times, at least in Wayne manor. But in public, he was more assured, but I think that's because he was really "Batman as Bruce Wayne", that was just brilliant to me

I saw it yesterday, and I honestly, I'll give it 9/10. Not a 'perfect' movie, but a strong solid Batman movie. 9/10.
    This is the comparison:
    1. Voice: In terms of voice, Robert definitely has the best voice. Deep, calm and affirmative. Unlike Bale's throat cancer voice, I can definitely go with Robert's Batman voice.
    2. Characters: Every characters are portrayed perfectly. Everyone have their fair share of time to shine. Both the heroes and villain has a balanced character development and involvement to the story. This also includes some supporting GCPD police officers. Riddler is extremely intimidating, Batman is mysterious, Gordon is immersive. Basically perfect combination.
    3. Action: In terms of fight scenes, to be fair, it's not as great as Affleck's warehouse scene, but it is definitely come close as the second best in all Batman movie. Definitely WAY better than all of Bale fight scene combined or any iterations of Batman movie.
    4. Batmobile: Definitely a car and not a tank. Perfectly executed, intimidating and scary. It does felt like it's alive at some point. The sound of the engine is just 👌.
    5. Cinematography: Oh dont get me into this. The cinematography, the lightings, it's really great. Yes it's dark, but not 'that' dark. It's pretty much horror and crime but with Batman theme. The rumor turns out to be true; which is great.
    6. Gadget: One of the best portrayal of Batman's gadget in any Batman movie. Compare to Bale's Batman who solely rely everything to Lucius Fox (well, not all), Robert's Batman definitely comes out to be that Batman who is very smart with his gadget. We see him utilized his gadget to full potential.
    7. The Batsuit: Perfect. Just perfect. The more you see it, the more you love it. All the movements Batman makes feels natural.
    8. Detective: We never really get to see Batman doing detective work. Sure they did some in the previous movies, but in this case, we really get to see him work directly with Gordon and even the whole squad of GCPD. Really shows how genius this Batman is, especially when he was able to solve Riddler's riddle.
    9. Tension: Oh. It's dark alright. Every moment is serious. Very little joke. In fact, I don't think there were any jokes. The tension of the story really brought you so immerse to the movie, you didn't even realize it's 3 hours already.
    10. Music: Oh. Really. Giacchino doesn't disappoint. Part of the reason why some of the scenes were extremely disturbing, is due to his music. It made you go uneasy at some point, and it also made you hype af at some point. Especially the Batmobile chase scene. Oh 👍.
    Overall, I'd give it a strong 9/10.
Why not 10/10? Because as good as the movie is, some of the execution does not feel like as satisfying as it should. Regardless, it's a very good movie. Strong 9/10. Totally recommend it. 👍

The way the Director used the shadows was brilliant, and as one of the host mentioned, the portrayal of Bruce/Batman as an alien has never been done before. Not only is this more then likely gonna be my Best CBM of 2022, This is most definitely gonna be in my Top 10 of 2022. And actually dethroned The Dark Knight as my Favorite CBM/Batman movie of all time. This film met and exceeded every single one of my expectations even with minor quibbles(3 Endings). Despite the 3hrs runtime, I never felt it. Let's face it Robert Pattinson at least for me and many film fans he hasn't been *John's Voice* Twilight Boy. *End John Voice* for a long time. This really is the Darkest Batman film of all time. They absolutely delivered on what they promised and more. If I didn't know going in it was PG13, I would've thought it was an R. For me 9.5/10.

I went and saw the movie last night and it was actually kind of a special event for my family. Before the pandemic I used to take my mom to the movies like twice a month with me and then the pandemic hit in shortly after the pandemic hit she was diagnosed with stage four cancer so for the last calendar year she hasn’t been able to do anything so she made her return to the movie theater last night to see this movie. Also my three brothers to like movies but aren’t into movies like we are in this community came with me to see it too and they also loved it.
I’m getting really annoyed with some people though and I don’t know why because especially when it comes to movies people are usually this ignorant but the whole Robert Pattinson thing and calling him a bad actor is starting to get on my nerves. I would totally get it if the only thing the guy ever did was the twilight movies but that was a long time ago. I mean even when I’m talking about Music I would never be so close minded because I heard one song from an artist and I would think that I can judge their entire career in one song. Metallica is my favorite band of all time but I’m not a fan of the St. Anger album But I don’t feel that that album should sum up their entire career. I don’t know why people are going to take one film franchise he was in and not bother to watch anything else he was ever in and think that they don’t look crazy online judging the man when they’ve only seen 5% of what he can do as an actor. He killed it in that role. And I’m more than OK with anyone that doesn’t want to go see the movie because of him it’s their loss but if they don’t want to go see any movie for any reason just be cool about it and just don’t go see the movie and it won’t hurt u. Why do people when it comes to movies can they just not watching movie that they don’t like why do they have to get online and start harassing people and calling people names and start this campaign to not support this movie because they think that they’re not going to like it for whatever reason. OK just don’t go see the movie! It would be totally different if these were kids but these are people in their 30s and 40s that are adults.
Bottom line The Batman was dope af!!

I watched the movie in IMAX last night! It’s an unforgettable experience! I truly loved the emphasis of Batman the ‘World’s Greatest Detective’ throughout the film! Like you guys said, it was something new and wholeheartedly appreciated. It felt like you were flipping through pages of a comic book, but with a twist of modern effects onscreen. I’ve never been in an audience of attentive people who are just living in every word and scene of a film until last night. The cinematography alone was enough to walk out satisfied. Reeves had a mission and my god, he delivered. I felt the urgency of Gotham (the place and the character). I felt the damage that Bruce walked in and the respect that Batman naturally commanded. Nothing is perfect, but to think we have this film in all its nature be created and given to us in 2022 by a huge studio for a even bigger franchise? Whew! I am in awe!

What I seriously enjoyed was the whole Detective aspect of the story that Matt Reeves Fleshed out from start to finish wanting to show that skillset to it's fullest extent while other films just showed it in a quick shot but didn't go indepth with him analyzing the crime scene meticulously, looking through it in detail. What the director did was show that aspect with Batman working with Jim Gordon figuring this elaborate plan that The Riddler has setup for Gotham. I think this is the first live action Batman film to focus on that solely. Matt Reeves didn't limit the action as he knew how to build it up once Bruce Wayne/Batman with Jim Gordon's help figured out each clue to Nashton's/Riddler's insane plan.

I had a fan experience & an opportunity to watch the Batman. What an awesome introduction to an even more grounded, young, and restless Bruce Wayne. With only two years for young Batman, the film is dark, it’s gritty and it’s all about the detective work. This is why we all love Batman because he has so many layers upon layers to explore. Matt Reeves just revolutionized the Riddler. Paul Dano was amazing, pretty much every cast is amazing. What I really like is that the film shows us how young Batman is scared to even fly off high-rise buildings still, but also throws out his body with no hesitation to enemy bullets, sometimes not being able to control his anger during a fight. He gets shot in the chest, punched in the head, and doesn’t give in. But above all it haunts him to see anyone get hurt because he’s still affected by the death of his parents. The cinematography is amazing, and boy the city of Gotham is just on another level. You’ll get scared to even pass by the city let alone live there. Shows the true nature of corruption and political deceives. Reeves created a unique Batman set just as Nolan’s was different than Tim Burton, as well as for Zack Snyders Batman. Each director builds their own unique elements and universe for Batman. Perhaps the greatest advantage is that character Batman is so versatile and any director can interpret it based on the excellent comic books written. DC needs to focus on these kinds of movies because honestly, they’re just perfect. I’m hoping we will get another amazing trilogy if it continues like this. My respects to all the previous and current directors for giving us different types of Batman. I really like all the Batman iterations since 2005. (Baleman, Batfleck. & Battison).

The Riddler was haunting, the vibe was a cross between Blade Runner, Saw and Se7en, the score was great, Battinson was a broken character learning to be a true hero, and the 3 hour runtime didn't drag (at least for me).

If you're not a hardcore Batman fan, then this movie is not for you. "Oh, I'm a fan of Batman." No, you're not. You're not. Otherwise you wouldn't be complaining. The hardcore fans would love this. The same fans who know about Long Halloween and Year One. The same fans who loved the Animated Series, with how mature it was. Those fans, like me, will appreciate this film. And maybe that's the problem. The film is too mature and the immature will not be able to appreciate this film.

I’ve been following this movie since the director hire, and have been anxiously waiting for this movie. Mainly because of what Reeves had promised and the casting. So, as a lifelong Batman fan, this is the Batman movie I’ve always been waiting for. I always though Batman Begins would be the closest, but this movie broke the ceiling. I can’t wait to see the next one.

Lots of campea fans seem to be unsatisfied haters, a lot of people are too critical to enjoy movies anymore because they’re afraid of being viewed as “passive consumers” which is pathetic, impo, this movie is incredible and it’s definitely a masterpiece, that not everyone is gunna love but this is not a bad movie anyone who says it is is confusing it, if you think this is a bad movie it’s most likely because your preference of Batman’s portrayal, people constantly comparing this to betfleck is not a fair criticism to me being that batfleck never even had his “own” film

The reason this beats TDK for me is they both have very good 1st and 2nd acts. However they both have less exciting 3rd acts. But the joker carries the dark knight film in my opinion. In the Batman I feel the first two acts are even better than the dark knights first two. And it’s more Batman than the dark knight is. More elements of Batman in the dna of the film. That’s my take.

Seeing it TWICE this week, first tomorrow and then late on Friday night. I’m hoping two viewings will give some clear judgement instead of seeing it once and not catching everything and having an unbiased look at it. Next to IW/EG and NWH this is by far the most I have anticipated a comic book film, and I really have a feeling that it’s gonna hit my expectations.

This movie was a great iteration of Batman. This was definitely the most Batman I’ve seen in a solo film of his (which has me curious how Pattinson will be as Bruce Wayne in the future). I love the references to Se7en, Zodiac (someone even through in a Saw reference). Makes this film feel more edgy naturally. I did feel the runtime at a certain point. That said, it’s a great first film that I’m sure over time will be appreciated especially w/the plans HBO Max has.

I'm glad to see the sevenesque feel from the reviews , however seven was a pure genius movie and is one of the Hollywood all time greats , astonishing movie by David fjncher .

Liverpool, Glasgow and London were among the places to double as Gotham City during the filming of The Batman, as a growing number of British locations are given starring roles in blockbuster movies. The rain was the usual British weather.
