Interesting viewpoint. Tim Edey is the virtuoso, but I think you’re right about this lad. He does seem to add a deeper feel….excellent technique, but something deeper.
Une incroyable créativité ...le plus impressionnant est de le voir jouer pour le step. Awesome artist.. For me the best is when he plays for dancers...
GREAT! Emma is a "classical" tune from Finland and often used by among swedish fiddleplayers as one the first tunes you likeley to learn and therfore perhaps a bit "worn out" but Damien takes Emma up to a new and lovely level. I like it very much the way he plays it like this in his "Irish" way.
I rate this recording up there with Dermot Byrne's Tico Tico from his album. For me personally it's as good as it gets. I had a go on his Bertrand Galliard accordion once in London, soon after he bought it, and it is an amazing instrument. Lovely tone (as you can hear), and plays like lightning! Mind you Damien makes any box sound great!
I noticed that as well. It has probably been added after the video was made to make the sound more full. The bass is included in the first tune as well btw.
It pains me to see how easily people can dislike good and honest work, while they would die to see them fake pseudo-artists. However, according to the laws of nature, less is more. Why? More means stupid, less means intelligent.
Whilst I agree that every post reaching a 'critical mass' of viewers' always gets a small proportion of trolls who love to press 'dislike' for the sake of it, when one plays in a particular style like this it won't be to everyone's taste and maybe they are being honest too. Sure the dexterity of playing is unquestionably impressive but some might find the pace a bit frantic. I haven;t pressed either 'like' or 'dislike' BTW :)
I don't think so..I've been trying to match up what buttons he presses when I play along with it in Emin and it doesn't match. Maybe he just plays it in F though.
@FenrerGG I am sure that the bass is from a string instrument (electric bass or upright bass) : ) The bass buttons from the accordion is very different sounding, and Damien doesn't use them very much in this vid (watch his left hand).
This young man is the best box player I have heard in some time for sure
May I introduce you to Andy Cutting?
Been listening to this man for 13 years. Brilliant guitarist as well.
Still my most favorite video of all time. It makes me weep...
watched this hundred times or more over the years. thanks for posting Peter.
Awsome, have to learn both tunes, need another life. Loverly playing and great tunes. wow.
His a master, his playing that box from deep within, not many can do that. For me the best & most gifted

Awesome playing and a nice hous. In front of the fire what a cosy place !
Love this young man's playing on the box, certainly an up and comer. Maybe he already is

De la très grande classe. Difficile d'atteindre ce niveau de jeu. Merci de partager.
The best box player I have ever heard, and I have heard a lot!
The first time I heard this waltz it was played by Seamus Creagh in a Kinsale's pub...It's beautiful !
Amazing playing indeed! Bravo!
And this dry C/C# Bertrand Gaillard box sounds perfect!
He's seriously good and I can't believe I only just heard of him a few hours ago!
Excellente interprétation avec la rolls des diatos :un Bertrand GAILLARD

Solid guitar playing. Shame he doesn’t get named in the credits.
Mike Galvin on guitar....
Jazzy folk. Great sound. These two blend well together.
@glubux Thanks!
Excellent stuff from both players, love the tune :D any chance ye can send on the DADGAD chords of the guitar player? :)
@mrmollymusic,
Any idea how he does it? Really intriguing. Doesn't sound like bass pedals. Maybe an octave pedal for the low string?
how can that devil play like that after a probable dozen glasses of rye? Christ... he's a marvel
does anyone know what tuning the guitarist is playing with, is it daggad
Am I imagining it, or is he playing that reel on the scale of F?? What settings does he have on his accordion?!
Not too tricky on a BC
I don't think so..I've been trying to match up what buttons he presses when I play along with it in Emin and it doesn't match.
Maybe he just plays it in F though.
Was the Bass line added later? If so nice work! If not where is the Bass player in the video?

anyone knows who the guitar player is hes excellent?
His name is Mike Galvin.
From Limerick. He plays with Breaking Trad amongst other groups. Fabulous guitar player and sound man to boot.
is he playing this using his b/c box
and how do they get the bass notes in it to hear so loud?
The bass is coming from the guitar live. Octave pedal setup
@@mikiegalvin873 wow man what sound! incredible playing! cheers!
Is this a B/C accordion?
Anyone know who the guitarist is?
Mike Galvin
he is getting backed in F minor and his box is a C/C# box
as far as i can tell the guitar player is backing him in Emajor so defo not b/c tuning
He's playing a half-step up with a C/C# box
Accordeons Bertrand GAILLARD THE BEST IN THE WORLD
Boom chuck boom chuck 🌝
@PipersGrip C/C#
Guitarist plays like Denis Cahill
great playing indeed.
Jessicafatty should shave her mustache off as well.
