Secretary Blinken's visit to Vientiane, Laos, was a valuable opportunity to address the real issues facing the country. Unfortunately, some reporters chose to focus on questions about Russia and other countries, diverting attention from Laos. Even at the beginning of his speech, Secretary Blinken outlined the key issues and opportunities, emphasizing the need to focus on economic development, health and infrastructure, regional partnerships,AI and digital transformation [IN LAOS].

That is true. Blinken's clearly did tried to ignore the whole purpose of visiting Laos and had a chances to speak about Laos and U.S future ties. But clearly here, we do not hear anything coming close to it. I guess it will be another decades before the U.S actually state the real agenda relating to Laos after everyone else within the ASEAN is taken care of first. Laos will always remain last for the U.S even get a glimpse of attentions at the world political arena in the West.

The Secretary highlighted how the U.S.-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to deliver concrete benefits for our combined one billion people. The Secretary reiterated the United States’ enduring economic cooperation with ASEAN, which includes our status as ASEAN’s number one source of Foreign Direct Investment. He also highlighted our enhanced engagements in energy, the digital economy, cybersecurity, transportation, science and technology, health, and environment and climate.
The Secretary also addressed pressing geopolitical issues including provocative PRC actions in the South China Sea, East China Sea, and the Taiwan Strait; Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine; the DPRK’s destabilizing actions; the conflict in Burma; and regional tensions in the Middle East. Secretary Blinken reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to ASEAN centrality and to a rules-based international order.

I would think if you are in Laos. You would speak more about U.S and Laos future agenda and the future planning not just exclusively about Laos, but the overall Laos regional neighbors development. But here Blinken seem to only focus on Ukraine, Taiwan, Russia, China Israel and the overall wars which Laos has nothing to do with U.S involvement does proven how disrespectful the U.S is in Vientiane, Laos.
