I’ll be honest, the concept of Luffy using a sword sounds so badass to me, I’m actually wondering if Oda made it a personal challenge or creed that his protagonist never use a weapon that isn’t his own body. But giving us a moment like this makes us crave more. It’s like when DBZ gave us Trunks using a sword while in Super Saiyan mode, why isn’t that practically the norm?

I came back after egghead and notices that luffy's red kimono has a blue patch on it and had a circle symbol on it surrounded by smaller circle, it is quite foreshadowing and really resembles circle in the church on kuma's story
