Yes, we have a lot of bureaucracy, but we've been improving and It's not true that you need to share your CPF with everyone. At the supermarket, they ask if you want to provide your CPF because you might get discounts if you're registered with that supermarket chain, and also for tax purposes.

Chris sharing the reality of the systems there is so invaluable to people who are sticklers for easy processes. I definitely understand why he would not want to stay in brazil and after watching this I would not go there as a nomad.

Safety must be your major concern no mater where you are. I grew up in São Paulo... never got robbed, assaulted, schemed or whatever. When 17, in my first year on the college, living in a smaller and safer town that I could walk anytime and everywhere alone, my house got invaded during July Break when I was visiting my hometown. And at 23 yo (around 2001) at my first time in France I got schemed right inside the airport and in the same day (and not only that time) a lad tried do mug me.
Information, preparation and caution, but never despair. Just remember a shootout in the Generation Kill series when the Rolling Stones Magazine reporter were taking cover behind a Humvee and the soldier told him that "you are right now in the safest place in Iraq" and he was probably very close to the truth lol.
Anyway... welcome to Brazil... just don't be delusional nor paranoid and the only thing you have to really worry about are taxes and regulations.
    Cheers!

Brazil, a country of contraditions. Its not even that it is burocratic, Germany for instance is far more burocratic to live even for spending a few months working than Brazil.
The difficulty comes from Brazil not being systematize. So it can get chaotic.
But this bad thing transform in a good thing for those who like to be left alone also. A pianist from NYC told me once, one of the only places ij the world you dont feel controlled and watched.
For me too, I like to be wild, to learn how to do things on my own without safety signs and impediments everywhere. I like to feel the wind that we only experience in chaos.
In many European countries I feel like a batterie chicken in a luxury farm. But I am a jungle chicken and I know my way in the wilderness. So the farm can get too constricting.

ONLY EUROPE? THESE APPARENTLY THESE DUDES NEED GO TO ASIA WHOSE COUNTRIES ARE CONTROLLED BY CHINESE/KOREA OR JAPS..LIKE SINGAPORE,CHINA,KOREA,MAYBE OTHERS SOUTH EAST COUNTRIES,TO SEE IF THEY WOULD NOT NEED LETTERS,AND PROOFS AND IC FOR EVERYTHING!
APPARENTLY THEY HAVEN'T DONE THEIR HOMEWORK ELSEWHERE TO THINK THAT IT IS ONLY BRAZIL.. NOT SURE ABOUT THE USA,BUT OTHERS COUNTRIES TOO CAN BE PRETTY MUCH BUREOCRATIC..WORSE YET!!! 5 DOSE OF VACCINATION,IF YOU WANT GET A JOB!! WORSE YET! NOT SURE ABOUT BRAZIL
EVEN TO WORK AS CLEANER IN SOME PART OF ASIA,,4 TO 5 DOSE OF VACCINE FOR FOREIGNERS" IS REQUIRED AND "COMPULSORY"! AND THEY TALKIING ABOUT BRASIL ALONE?

I think the problem is once you get a Brazilian bank account the us is going to need to know that or you're going to get fined and then they will monitor your foreign account and start taxing you on it so you're going to be double taxed

"Come on in, bring your money". Brazil has a reciprocrate visa policy. When U.S.A. were taking pictures of the thumb from Brazilians we did that too for U.S. tourists that would then complain about that without looking through it . We are not a country that is dependent on turist or foreigners money. You can relax and be less uptight about it. Go to Europe if you want somewhere that needs your money so desperately. Thats why they have way too many tourists there...

Food in Fortaleza .. coming from Minas Gerais, lets say food is not the fortè of Ceará... but you can find a fair amout of good restaurants , you just have to, lets say, be patient. Go to the restaurant and cafe bistro in Senac.
If you are still there I can make a list for you. I lived there and took me a while to find out where there were good food. While in Minas state there are a rate of 80% great to 20% not so great. In Fortaleza CE its more like 25 - 30%great , 25- 30% not so great and 40% very bad.in every way and manner. It took me a while but at the end I had a fair amount of variety of places to get very decent food..

like torresmo= dobradinha.arrumadinho it is all from the north east, and we have a great array of better foods in the north east..than that in minas gerais
what a nonsense are you talking about.in fact the carioca/rio de janeiro and paulista cuisine are far better than minas gerais food!

You can't "skim" on a tap to pay.

    • @JarrettHolmes

      yes you can almost everywhere

    • @mikefish8226
      @mikefish8226 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@JarrettHolmes No, you can't. Skimming is collecting the details of the card, including PIN (being very specific here as in the old days you didn't need the PIN from a skim). If you're thinking of something else with contactless payments, then you state that instead of incorrectly disagreeing.
