    In a case like that I cut the throttle and pull back on elevator only. I don't try to level it out. If you do this early enough she will pull out and you can correct one axis at a time.

    That was crazy. I’m shocked you could not pull out of that. Better luck next time I suppose

      Yeah. That was nothing but pilot error. Thanks for watching!

    That’s ok. AGM-114’s are way too heavy for a Pony. That’s where your mistake lies.

      I designed them to be light. They don't weight much more than the foam rocket pods.

    Would you recommend to this model?

    • @reedinspace2286
      @reedinspace2286  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely recommend it. Despite the crash, which was pilot error, this is one of my favorites. Short take-off rolls with flaps. The gear does very well on grass. Stable in the air. On 4S 4000 batteries, I have my timer set for 9 minutes. Just be aware this is not great for acrobatics.

      @@reedinspace2286 I’ve got a friend dealing with cancer and chemotherapy at the moment. He has talked about this Bronco for 2 years and this Flightline being his dream plane. (Retired Army) So, as an early Christmas present I’m getting him the Flightline Bronco. After seeing this video I’m spending the extra money on a Spektrum 637T receiver for Safe.
      Loved the video. If I ever make a video it’ll be with the same- “Here’s what I was thinking at the time.” And background music. Something like, The Alan Parson’s Project “Time”. LOL!

      @@reedinspace2286 Air Force brat here. Dad did the 25 year thing. You name an Air Force base, I probably lived there. I grew up in Lakeland, FL after his retirement. He wanted to be near his favorite base- Patrick.

    I wonder how many modellers do a stall test on their new plane, to see how it reacts and fix any poor characteristics. Not many, I suspect.

      @@airman9820 He isn't wrong - it's super helpful to try this with your models to really get familiar with how they act at the edge of the envelope. Bummer about the Bronco crash! :(

      I haven't done it either. I've been flying for 20 years. That's good tips. I'll do it on my new plane next time around.

  • @aaronstrom16
    @aaronstrom16 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im glad the damage was minimal, looked like you were almost going to save it but it just wouldn't pull out of that stall..I had a similar crash on my new Bushmule V2..its important to set up the throws by the book on the initial setups..then go and adjust for more as needed..i had way to much elevator throw causing a high speed stall to the ground.

    • @reedinspace2286
      @reedinspace2286  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Good point. Next time I am out maybe I'll see if some throw adjustments are necessary. With this one, I was trying to make a very non-acrobatic plane do things it probably shouldn't. Got lucky on this one. Lesson learned!

    • @TailHeavyProductions
      @TailHeavyProductions 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd argue it's better to have something and not need it - than to need something and not have it. Set up full throws (the manual is just a suggested set up) - and add in ample expo for high rates for the maiden. In an accelerated and/or asymmetric stall, recovery without a secondary stall comes from SMOOTH application of back pressure after unloading the wing.

    and what exactly happened? did it not react to pulling the elevator up? why the roll to the left? was it that much stalled and you had no control? luckily just "minor" damage

    • @reedinspace2286
      @reedinspace2286  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I just "dumb-thumbed" it. Tried to do a rudder turn at too low an altitude and with too little airspeed. My own fault and I agree, I got off lucky!

      @@reedinspace2286 I totally expected to hear it was a Specktrum hiccup. Kinda good to hear it wasn't and probably just pilot "red mist"...Lord knows it happens to me far too often. 😉 I'm glad you were able to mend it together to fly another day. Anyway, I just ordered one of these and was search TH-cam for non-Motion RC videos.

      @@reedinspace2286 I finished putting my OV-10 together and setting up the electronics and radio today. I'm looking forward to the maiden, people tell me it flies like a trainer. 😅
      I gotta say, to have suffered the relatively light damage you did, it didn't hit that hard. That fuseage doesn't have much strength to it in the very nose. You definitely lucked out. 👍

      @@gmorphan Best of luck! I don't know if I would go so far as to say it flies like a trainer. In my opinion, it flies kinda "heavy" if that makes sense. I also turned the rudder throws way down. With my crash, it landed fairly flat and in tall grass so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. All the best to ya!
