    Once again you have shown yourself to be the most rigorous and illuminating person addressing Notion on TH-cam. I say this with great confidence having reviewed most of the high visibility Notion videos. Anyone who wants to learn tested techniques rather than aspirational plans for Notion should rely on you exclusively.

    I come straight to your videos when I have a notion issue. This one I used to create a weekly schedule for my college assignments. Stole the Day of the Week formula and the super awesome formula for the Week that way I did not have to filter within a week in general. I don't want to see next Monday's things on Tuesday of this week so you saved my life.

  • @maloumartinez9581
    @maloumartinez9581 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Excellent as usual ! And a very nice idea. By the way ... instead of substracting 1 day in your formula for having it starting automatically on Monday, just format the date with W in uppercase and it will do the job:
    formatDate(prop("Date"), "W") == formatDate(now(), "W")

  • @LoriHarrisBuzz

    Red Gregory hits it out of the park again with this video. I have long had a frustration with one of my pages showing "next week's Monday appointment" on "this week's" page because today is Wednesday. This formula helped keep only this week's data showing.

    I have a suggestion for you. I have two rows:
    1. January 1st, 2023
    2. January 1st, 2022
    When I applied the current month logic, the second row was there, which it shouldn't be. I recommend changing the code
    from:
    formatDate(prop("date"), "M") == formatDate(now(), "M")
    to:
    formatDate(prop("date"), "M") == formatDate(now(), "M") and prop("CurrentYear") == true

  • @timoperry8188
    @timoperry8188 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Thanks, learnt a lot from this, especially pasting into a table.
    I also like to display last week. In the formula to highlight Last Week I found I had to subtract 0 to make it work. I am sure there is a better/simpler way, but this worked for me:
    toNumber(formatDate(dateSubtract(now(), 1, "days"), "w")) - 1 == toNumber(formatDate(dateSubtract(prop("Date"), 1, "days"), "w")) - 0

    • @RedGregory
      @RedGregory  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! I may have to steal that. ;) As long as it works it's a good formula. I'm not overly concerned about simplicity when I create databases usually.

    Hello there, love the videos. One question i have is there a way to add an icon to each day automatically. Or after the fact. I used your technique to fill out the dates for the rest of 2022. But i want to have a little red book icon for my journal. Wasn't sure if there was some formula or code that would let me add it to like 300 entries. haha. Thanks for your help.
