I'm 35, and let me tell you why I absolutely love being in my 30's: we're old enough to have the wisdom required to understand how young we still are.

You may or may not be surprised by this, however I am 63 years old and have been a huge fan of your channel for a number of years. I appreciate your inquisitiveness into all types of self growth and never fail to learn something interesting from your videos. Keep doing what you do. You are making a difference.

The one thing I'd tell myself is "relationships are king." When I die, I know all of those sweet moments will flash through my brain and I'm determined to have as many as possible.

100% can relate to the boundaries tip regarding people cancelling plans and consistently being late!
The funny thing is, I think people believe it's okay to do such things because they 'have boundaries' and 'put themselves first' 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

This was such a useful video, thank you!! Although my twenties are nearing their end 😬 I’d love to see a video diving deeper into some of these points, especially: what you do you get better at & stop thinking about your feelings & bias towards action ❤

Best thing I've learned all year: Boundaries are preferences with "if... then.." I have seriously struggled to understand this concept for years. thanks

9:38 - Do you have any ideas of how/where to "put yourself out there", especially for someone who does NOT drink or go to bars? I know volunteering is one option, but any other options?

I think you had a wrong understanding of what boundaries are - they are not about others, they're all about the person setting them and what steps they decide to take when those boundaries are crossed, they were never about forcing someone else to change their behavior
i'm absolutely seconding the importance of relationships though!

    • @muchelleb
      @muchelleb  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I thinkkk I have a lot to say about this but in general, if the world reframed boundaries as preferences there would be more ease with ‘setting’ boundaries without it being a big deal or feeling like a difficult thing - is what I was trying to say.
The internet is big on promoting the idea that there are ways people *should* and *shouldn’t* behave in relationships that I think promotes unhelpful resentment / a lack of radical acceptance. That kind of conversation usually involves talk of setting boundaries.
I agree with your perception of boundaries. I just don’t think that’s how they’re often framed and I don’t think that that’s the mindset they always help to create.
To be clear though - I’ve never perceived boundaries as forcing other people to change 💛 not my bag!!
Ps awake @ night w stomach cramps!! Not usually up at this time dont concern!!

I love this. However, I do disagree with needing an air fryer. I am a nutritionist and never recommend them. Hear me out. if you have an oven you do not need an air fryer. Using an oven is marginally healthier than an air fryer. So an air fryer becomes a waste of money. However, if you are someone that deep fat fry’s all your food, then yes an air fryer maybe for you. Don’t believe the chefs and celebrities that tell you an air fryer is healthier, it is not, they are all jumping on the bandwagon because it allows them to either sell their own brand or create recipes around air fryers. This is such a gimmick object. It really is not needed if you have an oven. The research that was done on the health of air fryers was only comparing it to a deep fat fryer.

You’re right that an airfryer is comparable to an oven in terms of health benefits. But it saves so much time compared to an oven, especially for small portions. No need to preheat an airfryer, and it gets homemade chips way more crispy than my oven does. I only use my oven now for things that can’t go in an airfryer.

Michelle, you are praying and you don’t know it. All those “May” statements are requests to a power bigger than yourself. I can see that in some ways you are not far away from discovering the power of the one God. It took me a long time to accept him, especially bc what I thought I knew was all wrong, and most Christians distorted the true message of Jesus. No one teacher compares in sophistication, depth, and meaning than Jesus Christ. He created Life itself. Christianity has stood the test of time and will never die out. I will continue praying for you, that you open your heart to Him. I used to hate these comments before Michelle, I thought I knew better. I am sending much peace and love your way.

Hey! I was raised with religion and decided that it wasn’t for me for a few strong reasons that I still agree with today.
I’ll probably never lean towards christianity but your comment seems like it’s been sent with nothing but kindness and love - and I love that christianity has had such a huge positive impact on you 💛
I am sending you lots of good energy!
