As a white Australian woman in her sixties, I find this woman not only inspiring as a woman. She is an exciting, interesting, funny, strong, very intelligent person who inspires my interest in the Aboriginal population, history and future like no other. As stated by Terrri Rickert below, these people have 65,000 yrs of experience in looking after this beautiful, "lucky" country. Following the horrors of the 2019-2020 fires that devastated our homeland, we need to start listening to & learning from the people who got it right for so long. Not the currrent Government bodies, who don't seem to have clue or care for that matter. If we don't wake up to the vast wealth and importance of the knowledge of the Indigenous population, how much longer will the word "lucky" be able to be applied to thus stunning, vast land mass that we are all now responsible for?
SALLY SCALES IS AMAZING and ONLY 28 years old !!!!! IT IS A HUGE SHAME THAT ALL AUSTRALIAN POLITICALLY MINDED PEOPLE ARE NOT LISTENING & RE-ACTING POSITIVELY TO WHAT SALLY & HER ELDERS ARE SAYING !!!!!!!!
Why doesn't Australia have a day similar to "Juneteenth DAY" (US public Holiday is some states) ?????? I would gazette it as a holiday in Australia. BUT ONLY A HOLIDAY in Australia for people who support & RESPECT the ORIGINAL AUSTRALIANS !!!!! SORRY Pauline Hansen NO HOLIDAY FOR YOU !!!! Juneteenth Day is an annual observance on June 19 to remember when Union soldiers enforced the Emancipation Proclamation and freed all remaining slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865. This day is an opportunity for people to celebrate freedom and equal rights in the United States. Juneteenth became a state holiday in Texas in 1980, and a number of other states subsequently followed suit. The day is also celebrated outside the United States, with organizations in a number of countries using the day to recognize the end of slavery and to celebrate the culture and achievements of African Americans. As far as I know Aust Aboriginals do not have a special day similar to Juneteenth Day. All I could find was: 5-12 July 2020 The 2020 theme recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have occupied and cared for this land and sea for over 65,000 years. ... The National NAIDOC Committee invites all Australians to reflect on the history of our country and our shared future. A DNA study has found Aboriginal Australians are the World's Oldest Civilization. But I don't think there is an Aborginal Day as such (similar to the US Juneteenth Day).
Because they know better. She's where she is because she was prepared to sell her soul to the devil. She hasn't mentioned the appalling treatment of Elders at the hands of APY executive...the table she sits at.
Aside from the stupidity, if you can't control your own dietary urges you won't be able to control a country. There has never been an obese leader in a democratic system, only under socialist military regimes.
Sally is such an inspiration!
