I think it's so interesting how the opening scenes with Luke and Laura most likely mirror what Genie and Tony were going through in real life, with overwhelming publicity and crazed fans chasing them.
Why drag this out? Laura doesn't want to be married to Scott's boring ass anymore. it is over and why did Lee of all people get those papers?You don't mess with people's lives like that. How would Lee feel if someone interfered with his life ad relationship?
@@aamanpour3630I think they needed to get their bearings and the wedding had to be in November. Monty probably had to get sets, outfits, etc secured. The original wedding was supposed to be May of 1982.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Victoria Let L&L twist in the wind some more! just a little longer but their is a point when you just have to let things go and try not to let it consume your life cause I feel scotty was a great husband he never hit Laura and never been unfaithful
He was horrible. He confided in Bobbie Spencer his ex lover about all the intimate details between him and Laura, he danced with Bobbie Spencer, went to Vegas with Bobbie, cancelled their anniversary plans. He pushed Laura to the floor two times, threatened to kill her, raised his fist as if to hit her. Told the group therapy members that he felt like he wanted to rape Laura. Boy your idea and my idea of a good husband are way different. Scotty and Laura were both too immature to get married. Hell today Scotty would be charged with statutory rape.

@@lisacarman167The characters were all flawed. Like real people. Scotty and Laura just weren’t right for each other. He dominated her and acted as a parent which is what the families expected him to do but it wasn’t that great for Laura.
Bore, bore, bore, bore, bore! I was away in USMC boot camp at this time, so glad. All this L&L wedding that goes on and on and on is nerve-wracking and boring. So glad the core of the hospital is not so heavily involved in it, my Q's kept separate [Lila out of place there]. Not enjoying Rick and Lesley scenes at this point. Yes, I do know, when it finally arrived, it was the most-watched episode in daytime history, but still, it is annoying getting through all this. I will have to start moving the mouse over when they get to those scenes, like the Luke-and-Laura-on-the-island-endlessly-kissing scenes. I was SO GLAD when Genie left. Although, unfortunately, Luke got even MORE airtime then, but at least the L&L spell was broken.
