She has no middle ground really , you either abuse or get abused like a mofo and she is godlike broken against melee comps or godshit useless against ranged/mobile comps that can play around her. The worst thing about her is that is really hard to recover against certain toplane champs like cheese volibear , jax or irelia. Champs like these when ahead can burst illaoi before she can E + ult + smash keyboard.

Note that all of these champ can go 0-7-0 and still kill your botlane blindfolded.

I've never experienced a Illaoi Syndrome in my games: if she's on my team, she hard carry by killing half of the enemy team alone; if she's on the enemy team, she get fed by top and mid and she becomes unkillable.

She is pretty much useless in those cases. Pretty much every teamfight you bait her ult and attack after 8 sec you will destroy her. Her kit is E and ult. Cancel it and u are fine. Only guy I know of who can come up with the solution against ppl who know how to counter Illaoi is DirtyMobs (rank 1 Illaoi) who plays her in high elo.

You don't go for 1v1s early on. My problem is when my laners refuse to move their asses off their lane to help me do anything while the enemy colapses 5 people instantly every time and I lose camps, objectives, etc. With a few items, you can 1v3 with no problem, given you dodge cc with your stupid amount of ms, but you need your q passive stacked for that. It's not hard to win those fights, especially if you have ult, it's just hard to stack the q passive to not die instantly. And I'm bad at Lillia, I'm practicing her. I have like 15 games and I think I had positive kda in 4 or 5. I won most of my games though, because an aoe sleep is always useful (and she tanks and heals a disgusting amount of damage for reasons I still can't figure out). She can 1v5 games and that's why I'm finding her so much fun and want to learn her more. Right now, I would definetly get a Lillia Syndrome video to my name, I have my fair shares of 10 death powerspikes lmao

I played a norm with her and it was atrocious. I find her as a useful support but my issue was that game not knowing when my adc wanted to go in or not and tilting. There was one moment where it was a 2v1 and granted my kalista was low health and the enemy Samira had the immortal shieldbow, but honestly? she was low health also and I feel like we could’ve taken her out even if kalista had died because of it. But nonetheless, we just had an unfair matchup (their support was Seraphine). But that’s good to know that having a lot of ms and stacking Q helps. That game just threw me in for a loop, was very toxic all around from teammates and the opponents, and I just stopped looking at my u.gg guide and tilted lmao

Facts were spat up in here. Tried ADC for a day and quit the role because it made me sick having to hope my allies pick a composition that has some amount of peel and front line to make it remotely possible for me to do my job. Half of the time I would land on full damage comps with all my allies diving into the worst fights imaginable then pinging my zero mobility ass why I did not jump into the epicenter of the blast zone they call a "team" fight. If and when my support actually bothered to pick something that would help me, they would AFK in lane, spam abilities and give the enemy the go ahead that I am wide open, or abandon lane altogether to try and help the under fed solo lane ally as though their level six ass can do any better against a level nine top lane. Oh and half the matches I played as ADC, our jungle pitched their tent top side even when drake was up; so, drakes and bot lane both would be free game for the enemy team. Returned to top lane where I can just take something as brain dead easy as a Garen or Sett, dominate lane, eat all the minions I want, and even solo rift herald for an easy first turret. Then delete anything squishy enough with two maybe three auto attacks tops even if said squishy target has five or more kills on me because I have the level advantage. Oh and sure ADC's scale into the late game, but there is no such thing as late game when the entirety of top lane is demolished in twenty minutes or less and the Jotaro impressionist responsible is making his rounds to do the same to the other lanes.

this is clearly an illaoi newbe. she hits skillshots and uses abilities, but she doesn't fully utilize her kit, or rather, she doesn't fully understand how to actually play using the tentacles, which lead to bad plays. i hope all the best for her to improve in the future. you have to understand that illaoi, despite how buff she looks, she is just a priestess. the one that deals the damage and provides healing is her god. you don't deal damage, you command your god to slap the living shit out of your opponent. maximize the number of tentacles your opponent has to deal with to win the game. max Q first. hit E before R. priotize hitting the ghost over following enemies into unsave, tentacle free areas. create a save bubble using you tentacles, where you can farm minions in peace. track your ults cooldown and play save when it's down and aggressive when it's up. also, no mana= no slaps= death, keep in mind, you still need mana for your W while ult is active, so don't overstay. edit: wait, after watching the rest of the video... what happened at 10:34? i mean this fight was about as goot as it could get walking in 1v2 without any tentacles up, given how poor the previous performance was. maybe the account owner wasn't the one playing until now but someone else? p1: aw shit phone ringing, it's my boss, take over for me p2: but i've never played illaoi before, what should i do? p1: _leaves_ or something like that, who knows?

Tried ADC for a day and quit the role because it made me sick having to hope my allies pick a composition that has some amount of peel and front line to make it remotely possible for me to do my job. Half of the time I would land on full damage comps with all my allies diving into the worst fights imaginable then pinging my zero mobility ass why I did not jump into the epicenter of the blast zone they call a "team" fight. If and when my support actually bothered to pick something that would help me, they would AFK in lane, spam abilities and give the enemy the go ahead that I am wide open, or abandon lane altogether to try and help the under fed solo lane ally as though their level six ass can do any better against a level nine top lane. Oh and half the matches I played as ADC, our jungle pitched their tent top side even when drake was up; so, drakes and bot lane both would be free game for the enemy team.
Returned to top lane where I can just take something as brain dead easy as a Garen or Sett, dominate lane, eat all the minions I want, and even solo rift herald for an easy first turret. Then delete anything squishy enough with two maybe three auto attacks tops even if said squishy target has five or more kills on me because I have the level advantage. Oh and sure ADC's scale into the late game, but there is no such thing as late game when the entirety of top lane is demolished in twenty minutes or less and the Jotaro impressionist responsible is making his rounds to do the same to the other lanes.

this is clearly an illaoi newbe. she hits skillshots and uses abilities, but she doesn't fully utilize her kit, or rather, she doesn't fully understand how to actually play using the tentacles, which lead to bad plays. i hope all the best for her to improve in the future.
you have to understand that illaoi, despite how buff she looks, she is just a priestess. the one that deals the damage and provides healing is her god. you don't deal damage, you command your god to slap the living shit out of your opponent.
maximize the number of tentacles your opponent has to deal with to win the game. max Q first. hit E before R. priotize hitting the ghost over following enemies into unsave, tentacle free areas. create a save bubble using you tentacles, where you can farm minions in peace. track your ults cooldown and play save when it's down and aggressive when it's up. also, no mana= no slaps= death, keep in mind, you still need mana for your W while ult is active, so don't overstay.
edit: wait, after watching the rest of the video... what happened at 10:34? i mean this fight was about as goot as it could get walking in 1v2 without any tentacles up, given how poor the previous performance was. maybe the account owner wasn't the one playing until now but someone else?
