  • Together We will learn GEEZ alphabets applied to Tigrigna language.
Tigrigna, Tigre and Amharic are languages which are spoken in Eritrea and Ethiopia. Tigrigna Tigre and Amharic letters derivate from GEEZ script, which exist since the 5th century BC.
In Tigrigna, Tigre and Amharic, it is very difficult to learn those languages, without learning to read all the alphabets very well. Please try to memorize each letter.
In the following lessons we will work, ONLY TO READ, GEEZ script. Maybe we will learn Tigrinya language later.
The Difference between “B” group and Ghe Group is: The „B“ group letters have two legs, but the Ghe group letters have only one leg.
We can say that the “Ghe” group start with a vertical line. That is why, we speak about right and left side of the vertical line.
