If Gabbie has the audacity to call these people out by name and say so many horrible things with passion, then she should have the balls to say them by name in the apology and come at it with the same energy she had when being awful to those same people.
Her misusing "got my lick back" over and over is so fucking funny
What the fuck does "getting one's lick back" mean?
I thought licks were physical hits...
@@drewgoin8849it means you got back at someone who wronged you in whatever way, which does not make sense the way gabbie's using it bc she's supposed to be apologizing 😭 like what do you mean

THAT’s EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT LMAO! the making amends step when u ain’t sorry!!!
[as a sober person who got sober without AA cuz it triggered tf out of me & cuz i did not get sober via a higher power i did it my damn self]
I have been in the AA for family, and higher power is such BS. And some of the "daily readings" are very triggering and victim-blaming (there was this one passage saying that maybe the alcoholist might not have started drinking again, if we would have been nicer, like wtf...). So I am currently in group therapy, since group is way better for me (I was already in one-on-one therapy for a year). I wish everyone in my AA group would find an actual therapist and stop blaming themselves for everything that goes wrong and crediting God/a higher power for all their accomplishments. Just. Nope.
Gabbie taking no real accountability, appropriating & misusing AAVE, randomly singing, and pretending that she's totally good now bc all the problematic stuff is in the past/is all other people having problems with her and not her having problems with other people (this time in God flavour) is so on brand it hurts.

I wonder which vague blanket apology the "threatening to sue a bunch of kids in a discord server" falls under 🤔
Huge props to Rachel Oates for speaking up about GH's bs "apology" and thank you too 💜
absolutely! so happy that rachel is speaking up. she deserves to be heard on this once and for all.
@@fatsajakso true. The way she spoke about Rachel was so gross and really showed how much Gabbie thought of herself. The ultimate irony being while YES I did discover Oates because of that Gabbie flap, it was immediately obvious that Rachel’s literary bona fides, even though she considers herself an “amateur poet if that”, wipe the floor with Gabbie’s .. er… output. In fact everything Rachel does quite handily outdoes Gabbie at nearly every game besides music. She’s (seemingly) a lovely person, so there’s that too.
I think it is worth pointing out that in a video on Gabbie's Cameo, there was a person who requested a birthday message. Later in the video, Gabbie googled herself, saw a headline that said "A timeline of Gabbie Hanna's feuds" and said "I wasn't feuding with anybody, they were all feuding with me. These one-sided beefs got me messed up." That video was posted in May of this year. To me, that does not sound like someone who is sorry for the mess she caused. I just thought I would point that out. This apology video feels calculated due to the influx of people now finding and breaking down her Oxford Union interview.
yeah. Like sajak said, this apology feels hollow and when she says shes 'growing" it gives me the same apology vibes as Tana Mongue when she says shes learned soooo much and then shes joke about getting behind a wheel while high, drunk, and recording a month afterwards. It feels disappointing
@@babyconch6459 Also, she released it on the 10th anniversary of her first video. That alone feels strategic.
What if she apologized for attacking “someone” (Rachel Oates) like 2 months ago at Oxford…???
Jessi and Rachel both deserved specific, direct apologies. this was an absolute mockery.
@@fatsajak completely agree. She’s the same person as she always has been. She’s a mean HIGH SCHOOL FUCKING BULLYYYYY.
The way at the end she said that if anyone wants to give her an apology, that negated everything she said.
Overdue. Yet undercooked. Rachel Oates and Jessie Smiles deserved to be specifically apologized to. Publicly and privately.
Secondarily, it seems like this apology is only to people who can/have provide her professional opportunities to make her seem more employable.
100% agree. I get like talking about working on sets and being miserable to work with and being a bit more general for an apology like that. But publicly targeting certain people means they deserve direct and specific apologies.
Yes I got this too, this is very PR. Like “sorry I sucked before, but now I’m a Christian, so hire me :)”

I would like an apology from Fat Sajak because saying you didn't get into God University because you wrote your essay about cults caused me to let out such a loud cackle it scared both of my cats. I don't know how they will recover from having their sleep interrupted by what was best described as the Wicked Witch played by a parrot possessed by Trixie Mattel.
I'll head out to my backyard where the logs are to film an apology to your cats
@@fatsajakMake sure it’s around noon on a very sunny day, and you’re staring at the sun without eye protection throughout the whole thing.
there’s something so comical about having a laundry list of apologies and ticking them off like that. it’s just so flippant? in a way i love it because it’s so gabbie, always missing the mark, but it’s not something to take seriously
A proper apology includes the following things: directly addressing the person you have wronged, admitting specifically what you did, how you believe it negatively impacted the individual including empathy statements, and lastly, specific actions you as an individual intend to take/have taken so the offense does not happen again OR an appeal to the wronged party on what actions THEY would like to see taken. Most importantly, it must include admission of wrongdoing and the actual words, "I AM SORRY". It should not include any excuses, and a minimizing or deflecting, it should not include blaming any person place or thing for your bad behavior. Gabby does not know how to apologize. And honestly, if we are being real, many people in general really do not know how to effectively and sincerely apologize. But they, and she especially, should learn.
I think there's something worth saying about the expectation of forgiveness as well. A lot of people who suck at apologies (like Gabbie) also seem to be under the impression that they are owed or entitled to forgiveness simply because they apologized (regardless of the quality of their apology). As a result, you can almost always tell if someone means well with their apology based on their reaction to not receiving forgiveness from the person they are apologizing to.
An apology is supposed to be for the benefit of the person negatively affected by the actions being apologized for. It's not meant to focus on making the apologizing party look or feel better. If a person's only goal is receiving forgiveness for their behavior rather than giving the victim closure and reassurance that they regret hurting them, then the apology is self-serving and fake.
@@abuchanan234 her comment about how she forgives those who have wronged her stuck out to me for that *exact* reason. It’s like she was preemptively saying “okay I hurt people, but I forgave everyone who hurt me so you should forgive me!” There are numerous documented examples of her in the past not responding well when her apology is not accepted and forgiveness is not granted. I really believe Gabbie believes just saying “sorry” means she should be forgiven.
BAFFLING that she didn't address the major issues and ended by singing about Jesus
"thou shall not talk shitteth behind peoples backeth" made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂
real rich of classically gabby to be out here talking about biblical morality while wearing mixed fabrics
I would bet anything that she isn't even aware of these things and is the New Testament only type and argues the fact of "the New Covenant" being the only thing that matters bc Jesus fulfilled and replaced the Old Covenant.
She TOTALLY strikes me as that kind of Believer, as well as being the hypocritical Christian type; she's the kind that makes it REALLY hard to admit we share a faith, who gives us a bad name snd create the need to "separate the [Christian] wheat from the tares".
🤦♀️
She's missing the mark mainly with saying, "I'm sorry to anyone who FELT that I--" or "I'm sorry IF I--" Like, if you're going to apologize, be specific and take an active role in it; "I'm sorry I was unprofessional in these specific instances. I'm sorry I acted in this specific manner and it caused these specific harms."
I'm also torn about whether she names specific people in this apology. Part of me says that would be good because it takes the supposition and assumptions out of it; on the other hand, many people (Jessi specifically) just want to sever any association (past or present) with her and I'm sure wouldn't appreciate being named specifically so a narrative isn't pushed or fought over. I guess I just feel weird about her being so VAGUE about her apologies. I came into the video late, so maybe I missed it (will rewatch!), but I wish she'd specifically apologize for the series.
i think she could’ve alluded to situations more specifically if avoiding naming names was best, but a direct and sincere apology should be given to the intended person and drama shouldn’t fall in its wake… but then again this is gabbie hanna so… lol
Vague statements always have the potential to undermine an apology but, of all people , G.H. should specifically have cited those she directly and repeatedly wronged.
This is such an empty ass apology. Colleen's felt more direct than this bullshit. No offense, but this is definitely the kind of apology religious people give, especially if they've recently found God. Like they wanna apologize for things but don't actually address who they hurt, how they hurt them, and how they plan to atone for their actions. It's just that "I'm sorry, forgive me now."
it's apologizing because you have to not because you actually believe you did anything wrong
@@StonedHunter like a kid breaking someone's toy and then "apologising" just because the teacher told them to.

The laughing while apologising makes it feel SO disingenuous
The last part at the end when she says "I'm clean because I'm in Christ" really is the nail in the coffin for me. Like Jesus is not the one you hurt Gabbie
Thank you for calling out her incorrect use of AAVE. I was literally screaming every time she said it. 😭
I wasn't even familiar with the term she was using, but it seemed wrong (maybe just because she's used AAE incorrectly before, so it's what I've come to expect)
she never fails to fail at an apology
Of all the people she has wronged, Jessie smiles was definitely someone she should have taken accountability for and apologized to by name. Gabbie never fails to disgust me.
Jessi, Rachel and the communities she spoke ill of during her manic episode are the three that should've been mentioned in absolute specifics, in my opinion.
I agree that this in no way qualifies as an apology for (or even an acknowledgement of) what she did to Jessi, I'm inclined to say Jessi probably prefers it this way.
Obviously I don't speak for her, but Jessi's been pretty clear she just wants to move on with her life and not continue to have her trauma discussed online. She won't even say Gabbie's name to avoid potential drama.
@@Lynsey17 there is a way she could have addressed it without being so direct that it pulls jessi back, but it's the fact that she didn't even try
@@Lynsey17I agree. I doubt Jessi wants Gabbie to bother her with her faux spiritual awakening. She has probably witnessed Gabbie do this cycle of finding something new to deflect all her bad behavior on too dozens of times. Having to deal with Gabbie saying that she’s changed now that she’s found out this new thing about herself. Remember when Gabbie couldn’t go for more than a minute without mentioning her ADHD? This is basically the same thing except now she can claim that she’s better than everyone who’s not spiritual. Also it seems like she’s happy with not having to seek forgiveness from individuals. Since god has given her a pass, that means everyone else has too as well. Gabbie will move on to another topic soon enough. Let’s just hope she’s actually getting help for her mania. No matter how horribly she’s acted in the past, it doesn’t mean she should have to suffer with such damaging mental health symptoms.

I feel like she’s only apologising because she feels forgiven … not by God, but by time
i think she’s apologizing because she wants attention and she is in no way sorry
She sounds so blasé. What is the purpose of this? Why even make that effort?
She’s pissed because she’s realizing that no matter what she posts her views are hot garbage and she needs to pay the bills so she’s begrudgingly throwing this together in a half-assed final attempt to resurrect her career. She really thought she’d be able to come back and successfully move on like nothing happened. She’s mad that we won’t let her. That’s what this is. Something I learned this year is that phrases like “I’m trying” subconsciously set you up to fail. Verbiage like “I will” set you up to succeed. So Gabbie isn’t really trying, she’s excusing her incoming failure.
i’ll go a step further and say that gabbie isn’t trying and she isn’t trying because she isn’t sorry
this apology is giving reflection - as in gabbie reflecting the sunlight
Holding clipable mics is driving me up the walls. Why. WHY
It detracts from the sincerity of her message when she appears restless and bored.
Maybe it's just my religious trauma rearing its ugly head, but i will forever be incensed by people who need some invisible sky-daddy in order to treat their fellow humans with anything approaching decency and take accountability. Seriously drives me batty.
YES THANK YOU this era of holding mics for videos bothers me too. I have no real reason for it but I'm always like "please stop holding mics and learn how to use your hands"
Also Gabbie's weird laughing during an apology is just...weird.

Implying that people who aren't Christian are just npcs is pretty fucked up actually.

I feel like her being ‘saved’ is no different than the cinnamon challenge… it just feels like she’s trying to catch a wave on a new trend.
the way Gabbie doesn't actually take accountability is wild. she really thought she did something with this, but when she started "forgiving" people, it just came across as unbearably smug. she owes so many people real, direct, genuine apologies and this isn't it.
unironically ur hair all wispy like that is cute lol i love the look
I’m SOOOO glad someone else is annoyed by influencers holding lapel mics. Like THAT’S NOT HOW YOU DO IT OMFG it sounds terrible!!!!
I cannot describe how irritating I find Pinely specifically because of this (which is impressive, when there's so much to be annoyed by).
I recently read about a correlation between suddenly becoming religious in their mid-twenties to people with late diagnosed schizophrenia.
While correlation does not equal causation... that is fascinating 👀
As a person with a psych degree, I can tell you there's truth to this. The line between a psychotic break and a born-again experience is often blurry, and schizophrenia typically develops in a person's twenties (later on average for women).
The fact that people who have money don't pay people for services is wild to me. I have a small business and when I got an artist to design my logo I paid them $150 extra then agreed because I was so thankful and happy with their work for me. I couldn't afford that at the time but I made it work because THEY DID A SERVICE FOR ME. I guess thats how the rich stay rich?
I agree with you I really wish she had given specifics and I think she absolutely needs to reach out to these people she hurt and apologize to them personally even if it’s just an email or DM. I am glad to see self awareness and her realizing her prior behavior was very bad but I think she needed to be more specific at least to what she did. Even tho it probably is difficult and scary to do I hope she reaches out to these people and say “hey I’m sorry for doing XYZ I realized how bad I was to you and I understand if you can’t forgive me” because in life some people will forgive you and some people won’t you still need to walk away from that situation with understanding and learning a lesson.
This is so damn performative 😂😅, she said a lot without saying anything. I can’t STAND people who were awful to others or did awful things and then they “find god!” So it’s all forgotten, and good! like how damn convenient for them 😑 32:35 this needs a trigger warning 😂 TW: CRINGE
As someone who grew up catholic, this feels very much like "I have to confess something so I might as well describe everything in broad terms. Because it doesn't really matter, I'm gonna be absolved anyway."
I think she still doesn't know what an apology contains and why you should apologize. 😒
sajak i have to comment on all ur videos cause i love you so much. the editing during her worship intermission…… omfg
Ill start to give her the benefit of the doubt and then she says stuff like "i was an npc walking around without the holy spirit in me" 💀 jesus christ. The whole shltty person to jesus freak pipeline is insane and infuriating
i should not be able to say “high school f’ing bullies” in unison with her, but at this point, i can’t help myself
honestly, from my years of editing portions of her content into mine, I know so many of those tirades by heart. so you're not alone lol
"The outside is outsidin'."
In my opinion Gabbie’s video is an example of her still using Jessi’s trauma as clickbait. Gabbie knows that people will click on the video to see if she’ll make the biggest apology she’s owed someone of her online career so far. It feels like she’s still using this shit indirectly. It feels like she’s still finding ways to keep drawing attention to it, she’s just gotten sneakier now.
This apology sucks so much like I REALLY wanted that for her to let all of that vitriol running her life to truly be out of her system, and for her faith. Like it’s always going to be surface level for her she’s never escaping herself
I think Rachel and Jessie should've been apologised to in private. Even if they were apologised to in private, they shouldn't feel like they have to take or accept Gabbie's "apology".
I say that in air quotes, because it actually isn't one, as she seems to just be saying the words just because she can say them. She just will not atone for her actions, as much as she says that she's changed since finding religion. She will always be a cruel and spiteful individual, no matter how she dresses it up.
I watched Rachel's video and she is well within her rights to not forgive Gabbie, I'll say this point verbatim as well. Her fans are horrible for sending death threats to Rachel and her dog.
I just hope that Jessie remains unbothered and accomplished with her podcast and that people don't bother her with this nonsense. She's been very clear that Gabbie as a topic is a hard boundary they won't cross and I hope people respect that
Gabbie needs to learn the words "by doing". I'm learning by doing XYZ, I've grown by doing XYZ, I'm changing my behavior by doing XYZ.
Also, would've been nice to hear an apology to Rachel Oates.
This rly might be the coziest channel for me rn
bringing up other people who supposedly owe her an apology at the end of the video honestly negates any of the decent/self aware apologies in the rest of the video to me. that and the fact that not a single one of the apologies she made were directed at any specific people for any specific situation tells me that, once again, Gabbie just wants to save face for her supporters rather than actually holding herself accountable to the people she's hurt. She can say "I'm sorry" until she's blue in the face, but I don't think she's ever going to be willing to direct that apology at anyone who actually needs it, because she still sees herself as being wronged in those situations.
And tbh I feel like her bringing religion into this at all was inappropriate as well. It comes across extremely condescending and insincere to proselytize to the people you're asking for forgiveness from
Ive been looking forward to your reaction to this because no one does a good Gabbie Hannah born again Christian word salad deconstruction like you do
*to the tune of Eminem’s Without Me* Gabbie’s lick? Back again. Her lick’s back. Tell your friends. Got it back, got it back, got it back, got it back… etc.
It doesn't make sense to me, isn't "getting a lick" on someone basically getting back at them. For her to use that in her apology video is a bit nonsensical.

Sajak, I am such a fan of yours. But I already saw another creator comment on GH’s. I normally look forward to you post vids like these because I love your commentary. You wit is crisp and funny. It’s almost cathartic to my brain. And normally, regardless of how many vids of different creators I see covering a particular I see I still LOVE to see your take because I know for a fact it’s gonna be entertaining. Maybe even more so because even when I watch someone else first I think “oooh I can’t wait to see Sajak’s take on this.” But in this very particular, very peculiar situation. 4 minutes and 43 seconds into the video…I can’t do it. I simply cannot sit through this copy of a counterfeit sham of a personality sit here and regurgitate this lukewarm beige word soup a second time. I genuinely got excited to see you vid pop up. It’s nice and early, I’m the only one up, got my coffee and a nice mellow buzz going. Perfect conditions. And when that person began to speak, the second the words escaped her lips, she ruined it. Completely killed my entire vibe. I love your content so much and I will continue to let this vid run on mute in the background for watch time sake but I have to tap out of this one.

So literally Gabby, THEY should be "getting their lick back" on you.... which maybe, a big MAYBE, is what she is trying to say.

"my b lol 🤪" - Gabbie, apparently
spiritual bypass: “a tendency to use spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep or avoid facing unresolved emotional issues, psychological wounds, and unfinished developmental tasks.”
gabbie has a LOT more work to do and she needs to do it OFFLINE. I think the part that repulses me the most is her bit at the end when she says “if you feel like you did me dirty a little bit you are forgiven”-because, since she’s not being specific about who she’s harmed and what she’s sorry for, she can handwave away any culpability for others’ behavior towards her. She probably doesn’t even remember what she did.
Finally someone mentioning Irene!
She always shows up when she has new music... Welp, true to form.... she has new music
I think this is really sad for people like Jessi and Rachel, because it all gets stirred up YET AGAIN but with no resolution.
Tbh I’m interested because I’m a person who screws up a lot and so being able to effectively apologize is like my Roman Empire. And you learn just as much from the bad apologies as the best apologies. In this case, I think this actually would have been a great intro to “I’m going to be doing a lot of apologizing publicly and in person”. State that you’ve aged a lot, reflected a lot, and that there’s a lot of things you’ve done that now you deeply regret or are just embarrassed by. Don’t know much about Gabby Hannah but this could have been the prologue to a whole apology video series lol.
this is a really great point -- her video would've been a great jumping off point, instead of a pathetic, performative blanket "apology".
Rachel Oates made a great video breaking down why she doesn't forgive Gabbie, and why she believes Gabbie's apology is a load of bs. I heavily recommend it.
