The crowd chanting with "I am not your friend, I am not your lover, I am not your family" made my blood run cold. I had to stop what I was doing and replay it so I could feel the goosebumps again! What I would give to be there, in person, for that moment.
I got to see them 3 times. It was unreal going to their shows as far as crowd participation. The only band that I’ve seen that ever came close was Coheed & Cambria. Brand New had such a cult following they would sell out in minutes and never got significant airplay. I remember getting tickets to a Friday show in Orlando and they sold out within 30 minutes, a friend who worked at a radio station hit me up to see if I needed tickets and told her I was good, she said they sold so fast they added a Saturday show and gave me tickets to that show. They played totally different sets, so it was amazing getting to go to both shows. Unfortunately we probably will never get to see them again… 😩

I saw this set but in San Francisco at The Warfield and it’s the single greatest show I have ever seen. Even though they’re done, which is such a bummer, I feel like this show was the perfect send off.
@Rawgangsta he didn't Diddle kids. They were 16, and he was 20. 16 is legal in the UK. He hasn't been sentenced, which means he didn't touch them. People blow the scenario way out of proportion. Yes it was slightly wrong, but he didnt touch them and was young himself and naive. He apologised and went into depression which means he knew he was in the wrong and obviously won't do it again as he's grown up... hopefully.

This concert was one of the best nights of my life. The intro to lit me up still sends chills down my spine. The whole building shook with that bass. I'm not going to lie, I cried during their set. It was absolutely beautiful.
Not many things are more powerful than hearing that crowd scream the chorus to Sic Transit Gloria back at Jesse. Anyone who takes the time to get into Brand New realizes at some point that they were the best band on the planet.
Science Fiction is a masterpiece. It has gotten better with time and IMO their crowning achievement. I have a feeling they will return to the world sooner than later.
Science Fiction is my favourite Brand New album and it totally blows that it didn’t get the proper tour and send off it deserved along with the band. Also sucks that I’ll never see any of the songs performed live.

Honestly That short clip of him talking (that I would have NEVER ever heard otherwise) added such weight and importance to me understanding Brand New and why I feel so connected to thier music. Brand New is amazing. Discovered them '03 and was blown away by the quality of both the music and the lyrical content. So raw and transparent. Every note is haunted with mistakes, tragedy and crushing heartache. Outstanding.
The honesty and vunerability got me. I had never heard more meaningful, real screams. I pulled over into a parking lot on the way home from school hearing QTTNOEK for the first time. I was 17.
Damn do I love this band so much. Discovering them in 7th grade, listening to them all throughout high school, and even now at 29 belting out their songs on long drives with no destinations is a gift. I didn't get to see them on their farewell tour, but damn do I love this video right here. I can't listen to Soco the same way again after this tour. Play Crack The Sky is my favorite song by them and that I cannot even listen to because of my association of the song. Jesse, your lyrics crush me when I don't want them to.

I went to the same concert in Dallas one month later… it was the last show Brand New ever played…. Breaks my heart but I’m so fn glad I was there. I would do literally anything / pay anything to get to see Brand New play again… A couple friends and I have even discussed starting a pool to bring them back to Dallas. They always ended their tours in Dallas, insane fan base here. They could sell out any show in minutes if they would be willing… people connect with BN so much deeper than any other band. I APPRECIATE BRAND NEW.
A generational talent level band that even had old gen xers like me hanging on every word of every song. Deja Entendu, The Devil and God... Daisy, Science Fiction , all masterpieces. It was a fantastic run for this band. I wish it had not ended but with Science Fiction what a glorious goodbye it was. Thanks for posting this video, it is great to re live this final goodbye tour.
the ending of the encore (soco)really hit me hard. having grown up listening to brand new and just hearing him reverse the roles really got my heart. it was kind of like "thanks for growing old with me". I love you. thank you Jesse. Ill always love you, who you are and who you will become.
Yep... Been listening since the beginning... First show was a Drive Thru Records Showcase at The (mutherfucking) Globe East in Milwaukee in Summer 2002. The lineup was Open Hand, Finch, Brand New, Starting Line. To commemorate the last show of the tour, members of The Benjamins and Brand New purchased whole, gutted fish from a local market and rushed the stage during Starting Lines set and literally beat the band members with dead fish. Pieces exploded into the 400 past- capacity crowd and the frontman ended up wearing one of the fish as a hat for the remainder of the set. I believe it was retaliation for Brand News van getting completely covered in vaseline during their set... Their albums got better, their tours did not... Soco at this show here and the ending speaks to me too, I'm the old washed up rocker taking his kid to shows now and always reminding everyone it will never be as good as it was
It seems like he talked to his fans through his lyrics from time to time, the most notable example in my mind being Can't Get It Out. Always hit me right in the gut when I noticed it. What a ride. I'm happy I was able to be a part of it in some way. Guess that's what I've gotta focus on.

Went and saw this is Reno NV and my god when that 2000-2018 banner dropped I felt that heartache as a kid that BN always helped me cope with but the skills they gave me made it one of the most beautiful spiritual funerals.
I'm still kicking myself for not going to this show. I literally live two minutes away from this venue. I guess I didn't know it was going to be probably their last show in Chicago.

Yea it sucks but there’s a badass factor of saying this is the last album then bowing out. It sucks they didn’t finish the tour over some 15 year old shit. In my opinion every album was better than the previous. I think science fiction is my favorite, sort of grew up with them as they grew up musically.

Miss BN every day. Everyday wish they wud announce a tour or album. Whole concert has me w goosebumps every time I watch this. I saw the Brooklyn show on this tour, amazing when they play back at home.
Yeah I think that's what put this tour over the top. They had dual drums/percussion in the past but the addition of Kevin Devine on guitar/vox really brought it to a whole new level.
Couldn't agree more that this tour was the absolute best of Brand New. This was my 15th or so time seeing them (in Dallas) and I was blown away. Love Science Fiction, loved the show on this tour, hope it's not over. But if it, I'm okay with it.

Thanks for uploading this. Brand New is one of my favorite bands of all time. I don't think any band has music that affects as much to me as they do and this is closest I will ever get to being able to see them again. Really just some of the most truly beautiful and emotional music ever made.
My little brother and I were there! Right next the security guy on the left side. I've listened to Brand New since 2004 so it was super cool to see them.
I got to see them at their add-on Jacksonville show and it was one of the best night of my life, was also special because it was my brother's birthday and he went with me. It's a time neither of us will soon forget.
Wow, so good. I was never able to see them again after seeing them in 2007 or so with mwY. This amazing recording filled a part of that hole. That encore was amazing, gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye.
Every album was its own unique masterpiece for its time as we all grew up. I’ve been going back to “Daisy” a lot. Such an underrated album. It sucks not getting anything new, but it’s a bad ass move to call it quits after a final great album. Now they’re all invisible online. Pretty wild. ❤

I started listening to Brand New when Deja Entendu came out. Went to see them in concert at the Wiltern in LA, amazing performance wish I could have seen them sing the newer songs.
Jesse Lacey has openly admitted to what kind of person he was in his past. Unfortunately, in this day in age we live in, people don't forgive and forget. The cancel and kill people and their art for the mistakes they made when they were young. We all made mistakes at young ages just like Jesse. I'm not condoning what he did by any means whatsoever but without Brand New and his song writing I for one can tell you my life would be a lot different today. We sadly will never see them take the stage again but to completely try and wipe them off of the face of the earth is so asinine. They are as influential of a band in the scene as any there will ever be. Long live Brand New!
Seeing him take the final bow behind that curtain will always haunt me. But I do believe people can redeem themselves with the proper action without having to be crucified for their mistakes. I don't see a lot of people that have that characteristic in the spotlight these days.
Saw this show in Boston. So grateful we went to it. I think it was my favorite BN show. It tough though, as I saw them in '03 as well, which was also spectacular.

Finally found a live set of this tour, best album ever.
This tour had the COOLEST stage setup/lights i've ever seen. Absolutely blew me away. Feel bad for the fans whose shows got cancelled on this tour.
Agreed, the visuals were absolutely insane. Best I've seen by far, especially for a humble band that basically did no marketing and didn't release an album for like ten years

Miss BN every day. Everyday wish they wud announce a tour or album. Whole concert has me w goosebumps every time I watch this. I saw the Brooklyn show on this tour, amazing when they play back at home.

Yeah I think that's what put this tour over the top. They had dual drums/percussion in the past but the addition of Kevin Devine on guitar/vox really brought it to a whole new level.
Couldn't agree more that this tour was the absolute best of Brand New. This was my 15th or so time seeing them (in Dallas) and I was blown away. Love Science Fiction, loved the show on this tour, hope it's not over. But if it, I'm okay with it.

It’s so poetic for them to have ended the band on their 18th year, and then to close out to show with Socco.
The volume of all those voices at once during Sic Transit is literally chills.
I still remember receiving this album in the post... ugh 🤦♂️

Whilst i have such respect for both individually.. its just phenomenal to see Kevin Devine and Brand new together..... Magisterial.
Thanks for uploading this. Brand New is one of my favorite bands of all time. I don't think any band has music that affects as much to me as they do and this is closest I will ever get to being able to see them again. Really just some of the most truly beautiful and emotional music ever made.

My little brother and I were there! Right next the security guy on the left side. I've listened to Brand New since 2004 so it was super cool to see them.
To this day I get chills thinking about their show at Red Rocks with Modest Mouse.

I got to see them at their add-on Jacksonville show and it was one of the best night of my life, was also special because it was my brother's birthday and he went with me. It's a time neither of us will soon forget.
Wow, so good. I was never able to see them again after seeing them in 2007 or so with mwY. This amazing recording filled a part of that hole. That encore was amazing, gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye.
Kevin Devine and Jesse’s harmonies are godly together
Every album was its own unique masterpiece for its time as we all grew up.
I’ve been going back to “Daisy” a lot. Such an underrated album.
It sucks not getting anything new, but it’s a bad ass move to call it quits after a final great album. Now they’re all invisible online. Pretty wild. ❤

I started listening to Brand New when Deja Entendu came out. Went to see them in concert at the Wiltern in LA, amazing performance wish I could have seen them sing the newer songs.

Jesse Lacey has openly admitted to what kind of person he was in his past. Unfortunately, in this day in age we live in, people don't forgive and forget. The cancel and kill people and their art for the mistakes they made when they were young. We all made mistakes at young ages just like Jesse. I'm not condoning what he did by any means whatsoever but without Brand New and his song writing I for one can tell you my life would be a lot different today. We sadly will never see them take the stage again but to completely try and wipe them off of the face of the earth is so asinine. They are as influential of a band in the scene as any there will ever be. Long live Brand New!
Seeing him take the final bow behind that curtain will always haunt me. But I do believe people can redeem themselves with the proper action without having to be crucified for their mistakes. I don't see a lot of people that have that characteristic in the spotlight these days.

Saw this show in Boston. So grateful we went to it. I think it was my favorite BN show. It tough though, as I saw them in '03 as well, which was also spectacular.
So gorgeous. Brand New stays in the deep end. So accessible.
