This mob in parliament, all of them, are busy eroding every thing about this country, heritage, culture, religion, way of life, and now the coastline. Considering that they wish to crowd in the entire population of Africa and the Middle East, then allowing the land mass to shrink, you would think this would be their top priority to avert this.

It's called SHORELINE PROTECTION. Here in southwestern Ontario we have bad erosion just from storms off Lake Erie. It's the responsibility of each homeowner on the lake to ensure their property is protected with steel breakwall or boulders. Clearly, ocean erosion is multiples of this problem. That's a government responsibility. Similarly though, construction of homes and other buildings should have a setback from the edge of the erosion zone. Ours is for 100 years. Cannot build within 80 feet of the water's edge.

I'm not saying its right but they would have framework suppliers and they would have said business is good so we are out of the discounted supply. This means they turn around and say there's none. The classifying it as an emergency meant they could just go out and buy it directly. At site level knowing the thing you need is up the road but you cant buy because they're not on the framework is bloody annoying especially when its cheaper.

Trying to stop erosion is trying to emulate the advisors of Canute who advised him to tell the tide to stop. Unfortunately it's that simple.
Those coasts have soft rocks and they are low-lying and the natural pattern is for a net flow of material away from them. Thus they erode. It cannot be stopped. To slow it down is possible, but as with everything a cost-benefit analysis must be applied. People don't like to hear that, but it is the truth. Hemsby has a population of just over 3,000. It is a fairly small settlement. Far from the smallest of course, but it is not a big place. So what level of spending should be applied there? If there is money to protect Hemsby or to protect Great Yarmouth which should be protected?
I sympathise with those who are potentially and indeed actually losing their houses. However this is what will happen if you live near the sea on soft bedrock with a net outflow of material. Dunwich says hello.
