the cheaper zebco are not designed for braided line mono and fluorocarbon only that why you were having trouble with casting it some of the abu garica abu matics and the zebco bullets have ball bearing on the pick up pins that makes them reels braid line worthy
I know this is old but Braided line on a 202?.... Millennials😂. smh.... The higher end Zebcos like the bullets. Deltas and the Omega pros are rated for braid.... The 202 is Zebcos entry level reel. But super fun video. Also with some of the higher up zebs. With a little practice those Zebcos can skip with the best of them. Seriously. Much better than a spinning reel.
Honestly, I can't believe how well that braid actually worked in that Zebco 202. As I'm sure you have been told in the comments repeatedly, no they are NOT supposed to be able to handle braid. But to be fair, they don't even really run mono much more reliably than yours ran braid. At least the one the wife has had for years doesn't seem to. The 202 is about on par with just being a bigger version of a barbie/princess combo.
Every kid my age grew up on the Zebco 33 Classic!! I still have some for kids who come fish at the pond. Bro, I missed an absolute hog last night!! I’d guess it was between 7-8 lbs. which for the Midwest is huge!! I did everything right except double set the hook!!! He spit the hook after a minute fight and I could never get it to come up which means he was huge!! When you coming up to fish?? We would have a blast!!!!! Hope all is well! Much love jj

Zebcos and braid don't get along. And that 202 is literally a 7 dollar reel. What's going on is the braid getting lumped up in one spot because the spool doesn't oscillate. So when you cast its lumped up on itself. Soft casting is key with the budget zebcos.
Most medium light can handle 10 lbs fish all day. I've got a 8 lbs carp on my Shakespeare Durango was fun better than a baitcaster 🎣 pole. No brad in a spinn caster reel it will cut up the bale bad. Medium light or medium is the only poles I use.

I used to rock a zebco in my younger days before I discovered bait casters and boy they cast far the drag doesn’t work worth shit but I caught a lot of fish as a kid on those zebcos I caught a 5 pound striper out of a local river and it took me forever to get in a remember but yeah those things are funny to mess around with and great video man as always
Big Zebco 202, 404, 808 and nothing like 33 reel 🤔 cheep stuff is for me catch the same fish as others I go fishing with. Nothing Rong with monofilament line thas all I use also. Okay I'm the cheep guy single Dad trying to take the kids fishing 🎣

Braid and spin spincast reels do not work together very well. I've tried and it just gets tangled up
I've tried it, it's not that bad. Just use a thin line and you will have a good day
