After only three years here, I’m headed back west. Property tax and homeowners insurance are bleeding me dry. I’m tired of the nine month summers too. It’s beautiful to be sure but just like any other location you can name, it’s not for everybody.
We told you guys that Fled to florida after lockdowns that you would ruin it. Traffic got 3 times worse (accidents made insurance double in 1 year, rents doubled also and many places are still full (I can't find a decent rent anywhere near my job after an influx of 100k people, especially from texas) Houses are...a nightmare (60% rich buyers of houses in florida came from out of state the last 4 years) So yeah, people brought nothing good. Only bad. So yes, please leave florida. Ty.
@@joshanonlineI didn’t ‘flee’ anything; i’m 68 and moved to Florida to be near the only family I have left. In the three years and two months I have been here I have put just over 5000 miles on my car so I don’t believe I am contributing to your traffic problem either. I haven’t had an accident in over 20 years and your traffic was already shit when I arrived in 2021, bad enough that my insurance carrier of almost 40 years would not continue my auto coverage anywhere in this state. As for your rental market, don’t blame me; I bought a 40 year old two bedroom two bath house over an hour away from Tampa. I am not rich and it’s definitely not a luxury property. Your comments seem to be a handful of unchecked assumptions that happen to be, in my case, completely wrong.
My sister moved there 30 years ago from N.Y.C., a lot of Florida especially her area was still developing and I was just never attracted to the state. Don’t like the crazy heat and how you need to board up for storms every year. And now with is governor….no thank you
I wanted to move from Wisconsin to Florida in the worst way while I was working and it really wasn’t possible. We had a location picked. Another year later a massive hurricane hit the area. That did it for us. We stayed in Wisconsin.
Lucky you. The only thing fla. is good at is LOOKING GOOD on video and in pictures. Thereby, enjoy a fantasy and leave it at that. You don't have to spend any money to do that and certainly don't have to feel the disappoints that many people are now dealing with after actually moving there.
@@jat6547 I agree, from the Midwest and FL used to seem like a dream to move to, after watching the hurricanes over the last few years and with MILTON TODAY as a cat 5 and everyone trying to leave and no fuel --- yeah, I will take my changing seasons and fall colors, winter snow and spring and summer over the nightmare weather that is now unpredictable.
Ah, the SCAM capitol of the USA! Brandstar Entertainment, O2 Media, whatever those two horrendously shady humans Mark Alfieri and Doug Campbell do, out of their building on Powerline and Sample Roads in Pompano Beach, I can GUARAN DAMN TEE you it's a SCAM!
@jackiemansfield8325 You were in the wrong part of the state. And there are horrendous, shady people everywhere. Have you considered that all of the trash from other states come here? So glad you left our state ...why did you wait 15 years? Did it take that long to figure it out?
No state income tax is a sham, since evrything else has skyrocketd in price. You are not benefitting much unless your home is paid for, but the homeowner insurance rates, property taxes and HOA fees are extremely high.
@@JohnW9012 Are you paying attention? It's everywhere in our country! Everything is expensive! And there are homes that do not have HOAs. Everyone complains about things that are completely within your own control. South Florida is not representative of the entire state. Our state does not begin at Disney World and end at the Keys!
I was just looking at property in Peoria. It seems so beautiful with the river running through it for boating...yet it's not crowded dirty Chicago. Why did you choose Peoria? Are you a native ? I'm still interested in a smaller town.
No thanks for Illinois. The Carolinas weren't for me either because I'm a Yankee through and through, but if I'm going to have to deal with cold weather again, I'd go back to NJ. I hate the cold, so I'll have to choose Earthquakes over Hurricanes and Tornados.
We used to visit Florida in January for a couple weeks, which was enough for me. What i dislike the most was the traffic and the toll roads. I prefer less crowded SW Indiana. Winters are cold but little snow and fall is the season to die for with cool nights and perfect days.
I lived in Florida from 2011 until 2023 when I moved to Europe. Florida is totally overcrowded, traffic jams everywhere and lots of crime. Too many people moved from NY, NJ, CA and other states to FL and paid anything for a house or Apt. it got crazy expensive. Besides it is very hot all year and dealing with floods, hurricanes and tornadoes I just had enough. It is not worth to live there anymore.
I was born and raised in new England. I lived in Florida for 12 years. The heat and humidity can be stifling. Got tired of it. Missed the four seasons I grew up with. Live back up north now. No regrets leaving Florida.
I wouldn't consider moving to Florida, because it's soooo hot. And I know you saw the most recent hurricane that just went through Florida. I don't think it's a safe state
Technically, it’s a sandbar. I lived there for over 25 years and the best decision I ever made was to move. The cost of living is ridiculous. The wages are laughable. There are no workers rights to speak of and every year right before tourist season, the prices get jacked up. When people ask why I moved away from this paradise, I always respond “because I did not want to wind up drowning in the dark.” Hurricanes belong in Florida, not people.
I wish that were so. Over 10,000 residences have been built within 2 miles of me in the last 2 years to accommodate all the influx of people. Please don't come to Florida we have hurricanes and humid summers.
Born and raised in Florida. Left 14 years ago for Charlotte. I will never move back for many reasons but the cost of living and the humidity and heat are terrible. I was not like that when I grew up there but something terrible is going on weather wise. You could lose it all from one hurricane which are getting bigger in size sometimes affecting the whole state.
I get how Southerners adapt to the Carolinas, and while both nice states in their own way, I'm a proud Yankee and would prefer to live in a warmer climate with a lot of other people from NJ and NY, which is why neither of the Carolinas was for me when I lived there. I wish the weather in NJ was like the Carolinas with a month of Winter in December, and then I would go back and never leave.
My son’s property insurance in the Tampa suburbs has gone from in 2019 - $2000 a year to 2024 - $8500 a year. After the most recent hurricanes, his property insurance will probably exceed $10,000 a year. They’re not sure how much longer they can stay.
Florida is ideal only if you are rich and okay living inside of a gated community. Otherwise, all the things that Texas complains about (immigrants, drug traffickers, crime, etc.) apply equally if not more so. But you also have issues like I-95 being a daily parking lot and poor urban planning and gated communities making side streets into a maze. Also, many condos have become a net-loss for their owners because the wet climate and strong storms have seen many, especially high-rises, suffering structural decay that is prohibitively expensive to repair. You may have bought a beach-facing high-rise condo 20-30 years ago, only to find that selling it is a problem because the building overall is considered too risky.
Because teacher are forced to teach non English speaking migrant children, added with their own classrooms which are full. It's costing taxpayers too much and too difficult for teachers to give American kids good attention. This is why Governor DiSantis has put a lockdown on more immigration here.
@@Goodkidjr43, so what are parents supposed to do? PAY for their kids to go to some religious school that will fill their heads with Christian nonsense? Public schools in places like Massachusetts where I grew up provide excellent educational opportunities. Of course public schools in “The South” are little more than crowd control and “active shooter drills”. I would never bring up ANY child in the American south.
Much rather be woke. And educated. Red states have the most ignorant people in the country. And it shows as red states have the most on welfare. No one wants to hire dummies!
The last time I visited Florida (that'll likely remain my last time) there were traffic jams everhwhere, and it was super crowded. It held no appeal to me other than the fact that I love palm trees. But that's not enough.
The are some nice palms that work as indoor plants. They are happy to be in Indiana outside in the summer and in the living room. Or rec room in the winter. It is enough palm for me.
@@auburnjewels2if you don’t like the way it is you can leave as well. There will be people coming there to live because of the weather and you can’t do anything about it.
I lived in Palm Beach Gardens for three years. There were many aspects of Florida life I appreciated, especially the beautiful beaches, which I made sure to visit frequently, our condo community's lovely pool surrounded by palm trees, the tropical landscaping in many places, my screened-in balcony, which caught the southern breezes, and more. But when I took a job in Indiana, it was as if a weight had fallen off me--historic homes with front porches, "real" trees that changed color in the fall, a much lower cost of living, more relaxed people and a less self-selected, more naturally composed population, no threat of hurricanes, cool weather in fall, winter and early spring, traditional open neighborhoods rather than just gated communities everywhere, everything less sterile, more homey.... Now I live in Europe, but if I were to move back to the US, I'd gladly return to Indiana--and not Florida....
Years ago I moved to Houston, Texas for a job. The thing that I missed the most was the midwestern values that I had grown up with. I live in a very nice little house that I can easily afford and I don’t have to worry about hurricanes. I love the Midwest and I hope that people don’t want to move here and spoil it!
I been to Florida more than any other state when i was teen i wanted to live there so bad, but as I grow up stop dreaming i realize i couldn't live there too far away from my family and friends i come to appreciate spring and fall its just beautiful and light snow i realize God gave these seasons for a reason. But Florida is a great vacation but living and vacation are two different things i realize. But prays 🙏 to all my friends and everyone in FL
I left Florida last month, the amount of stress I had while living there dissipated. Cost of living bled me dry. I worked my ass off and my bank account made it to E before every check(no matter how strategic I was with budgeting). And I got tired of the people there, they were disrespectful to the point where I was pulling weapons to defend myself(and was almost shot twice). People there are unapologetically hostile, it made me cynical towards society and I couldn’t see myself being around it for another decade. I took my dog and relocated to PR, jobs may not pay well and heat will still be a pain, but I have a house that’s paid for and I only gotta concern myself with utility bills. Compared to the financial stress I dealt with in FL, that’s nothing. I lived in Florida for 26 years, my whole life practically, and it gets worse with each passing year, I started out loving it, and with time grew to despise it.
Florida has third rate drivers throughout, lousy infrastructure, extremely high home insurance, sputtering civic services and groceries are ridiculously overpriced. We’re leaving in 2026 - children related delays elsewhere we’d have left this year.
Florida: hot, buggy, muggy, crowded, expensive on all levels, taxation hell, weather related disasters, doomed to sink under the sea…no, I’d never move to Florida.
In Chicago you may have some humidity for 2 months but even that is reduced by the lake breezes. SW Indiana and Kentucky are much worse for humid weather in summer. Spring and Fall in all these places are so much better than Florida.
Panama city Beach here for 40 years. We use to get a break from the tourist and traffic but now it's a year around hassle . Cost of everything is higher.
Sorry to hear that. I guess i am one of 'those tourists' as I've been to PCB several times, it's such a great place!

FL sucks. I lived there for 15 years. HOT, HUMID, BACKWARD and superficial. Coming back to New England was the best decision I've made...I wont even visit there.
Back in the good old days when looking to buy a house , buyers looked at home price, property taxes, local public school system if they have kids but NEVER did buyers really look at PROPERTY INSURANCE RATES! Now those rates are making Florida properties hard to sell. Florida is one of the states that is in big trouble.
Correct, and the only option for me now will be a snowbird rental on Brickell Key. If a hurricane is forecasted to come IN, I will be among the first ones evacuating OUT!
I’m not interested in moving south. Long Island has 4 great seasons. I’ll take the really rare hurricanes that are nowhere near southern storms. If a blizzard ever hits I’m going brew a pot of fresh coffee and watch it come down. Looks like more and more people want to get away from extreme weather. Florida insurance has surpassed northern taxes. GOOD LUCK AND STAY SAFE.
The illusion of the Florida Paradise lifestyle is over. Give the barrier islands back to Nature. Let the islands become sand dunes and mangrove swamps. As Nature intends . Nature always wins
But Florida is especially bad. Global warming and hurricanes are just two of the many things wrong with the state. Personal,y I think just about any other state is better than Florida
That's true! I'm not from USA, but i have plans to move there, but most of the time i see videos of ppl saying " why is everyone living...." or ""why you shouldn't move to..." 😮 even when it comes to Countries haha i just dunno what to pay attention anymore... Somebody helppp me 😅 If you have any recommedation i'm taking it , i like winters, summers( not really much the heat) , but the weather itself doesn't make a super big different for me i just wanna live in a realatively safe city where i can have a good quality of life with my family.😊
I've been a Floridian since '74 and I used to love it. But especially in the last few years, it's totally unaffordable. I'm grew up, go tmarried, lived in Miami, now in Broward . HOme prices are INSANE. Property insurance rising. Hurricanes getting uglier with climate change. All my family is here, so moving is not in my mind, but hey, if I won the MegaMilllions (ha ha) I'd move and be bi-state, home here, home NOT here, especially the brutally hot and humid June through October. Plus it's become "redder and redder" and that doesn't suit me.
Leave....you aren't in the real Florida anyway. Everyone makes the mistake of thinking South Florida is all there is to our state. Miami is Little New York. Yankees moved down and then proceeded to replicate their own neighborhoods from the North. They destroyed the culture and replaced it with their own. What do you expect?
Really lady? You LIKE the way this Country has GONE DOWN THE SHITTER under this FRAUDULENT "BLUE" Administration?! THIS WHOLE COUNTRY NEEDS TO TURN RED!
I spent briefly 1 year living in Florida. There you live to work. I moved to a nice Cleveland suburb Ohio and now I work to live with a way better salary plus is more affordable here.
@@Youcanthandlethetruth-n5b Cleveland Suburbs are premium suburbs. The city itself is way different from where I live 40 minutes away. It's like comparing Miami where you see most of the bad things, crimes, homeless people issues and with Palm Beach/Jupiter you see everything much cleaner, safer, nicer.Orange and apples.
@@thethreatwrestling.7053 Okay, since when I think Cleveland, I think of that creepy Spanish guy who held those three girls captive for about ten years. I don't like cold weather, or I would move back to the Northern New Jersey suburbs, le creme de le creme of suburban living.
@@Youcanthandlethetruth-n5b I remember the story, was sad and the guy is paying for his bad actions. Florida is a fun place but living there I had to kill myself working weekends to meet the standards of living there and not the best for business corporate careers. My life improved a lot since I moved to great suburb in Ohio 8 years ago and currently working only Monday to Friday with a succesful career, great salary and overall significantly less cost of living. I do visit Florida and where I grew up Puerto Rico for vacations. Hopefully, your move to New Jersey is for the better.
Constant threat of hurricanes and super high insurance is the reality. $600 a month for homeowners insurance for a little old house is the norm and even higher. Blazing heat and humidity. There I summed up Florida for you.
@ my Tennessee GF and I lived in Lauderdale for about 7 years..after the third year she said” feel like I’m “Air-conditioned to death” living here…go from an AC house, to an AC Car, to an AC Office”…..I never forgot those insightful words, She was Store Manager for Dillards and had to dress professionally nice every day. It was ALOT cooler in the 80s.

We moved in 2022 and are happy about our decision.Home insurance and car insurance is crazy in florida..We are back in New England and enjoying the seasons again with the coast only 45 minutes away.
Sorry, secret is out. North Myrtle Beach, SC area. Neighborhoods along the Intracoastal that the storms only "glance," with high end MH communities where you can find a home on Zillow for LESS THAN $125,000 with NO HOA! Pretty soon, all of these affordable homes will be snapped up, so for people thinking about making that move, the time to buy is now!!
I lived in Florida, and left. Making $60K then, now over $120K far away from Florida, and have 4 seasons. Sadly, it's not going to get better but worse. I feel for all floridians, native and otherwise.
Left South Florida two years ago to live north more and out of state (not disclosing location). My reasons for leaving South Florida were the high cost of living, low wages at work places, and lack of overall opportunity of employment in general; it’s almost as if you have to work for self to make it worth the while in the times not just in South Florida but most places. Other negative factors were the already over crowding of the roadways and beaches, extreme hot weather and humidity literally year around leading to out of control electric bills due to having to run the ac virtually year around, out of control insects and invasive wild life causing physical damage to people and property, super aggressive thunderstorms especially during the hotter months of Summer that damage or destroy electronics along with constant power outages, not to mention it raining at around 2-4pm everyday in the Summer and Fall months, no seasons; because many people are over worked and under paid many people are walking around super stressed projecting their negative energy and attitudes on one another, people don’t have the the extra time energy and resources to enjoy things like the beach, entertainment, night life, restaurants, and other tourist attractions like Orlando, Disney, Epcot, Universal Studios etc…Crime is prevalent and prone in most communities with even the most affluent communities suffering parking lot robberies, cars being robbed, homes being robbed; there is lots of cultural clashing and segregation creating language barriers and people not able to agree on how to properly do things based on their culture and where they come from, irrigation issues are threatening as many areas flood and flood insurance is mandatory in most places, property insurance, rent, and mortgage rates are sky high along with homes costing an astronomical amount for places that were built over half a century ago or more, these places need to be completely demoed and rebuilt as they are a nightmare with having structural issues, electrical, plumbing, roof issues etc. Water restrictions can make it difficult to keep vehicles and other things clean along with grass in yards turning brown for majority of the year due to the heat and the need for lots of water to stay green. The drug and alcohol problems are out of control cause many people are unhappy, and synthetic heroine overdoses and heroine overdoses run rampant in even the most affluent communities among teens and young adults; you think your kids are living in a good area and going to a good school to then find out them and their friends are all on drugs and heavy stuff like oxycodone and heroine. Family life gets torn apart when finances are a mess and people are struggling to get by and have the essentials. Seeing million and billionaire lifestyles on the regular works on many peoples minds psychologically making them desire and want more than they could ever afford and need and force them to try and have it cause if they don’t, they feel as if they don’t fit in and are not good enough. Schools are scammy, the medical system is scammy, the legal system is very scammy, and people in general are scammy with their being a lot of child abductions and human trafficking; it lives up to the saying a sunshine state with shady people. Politics are a mess with people protesting all over the place and being aggressive towards one another over which party is the best. There are a large population of elderly who are still driving recklessly or at snail speeds due to vision and hearing impairments along with many other health issues that go unseen by the dmv, and live in poverty; they thought they would retire in paradise only to have their money run out and end up in a living hell. Many of the youth in Florida are not well disciplined and structured because of having over worked parents and lack of parental guidance and leadership while being raised, the youth in South Florida also suffer terrible distractions because of the over abundant sex, money, drugs, and violence distractions with not enough extracurricular things available and affordable to do; idle hands are the devils playground. The list could continue to go on but I’ll stop here. Definitely consider your current and future finances before moving to South Florida and make sure you have employment in place prior to moving because there is a good chance you will get there and your money will run out. Good luck if you do choose to move to South Florida and keep in mind most anywhere can be paradise if you have a large abundance of money. 🌴☀️💯✨
What i have noticed too that is not talked about enough is the hidden prejudice towards Americans, especially blacks from the Hispanics. I've seen it with my own eyes and it didn't take long. Florida is in a decline, it's not the 80s or 90s anymore. As you said, people need to wake up and consider their financial future before coming here. The quality of housing is ridiculously bad. I'm not spending my hard earned money when I've seen much better in the Midwest. The hot weather is really the only positive thing I have witnessed here.
@@geoffhampton9155 Racial tension in America in general is at an all time high, I have nothing to really discuss on the topic because it's a one way ticket to a dead end in conversation. Yes, the financial situation is of the absolute most importance when considering living in Florida because ones mental and physical health will tank if their finances fail. Yes, housing quality is terrible and only getting worse, I have friends in construction and they tell me the details of all the horror stories; where they may want to build with integrity and quality it just isn't possible because of the politics and numbers game in their industry. You can get much better housing for the money in the mid-west, just keep in mind that the mid-west is not Florida, regarding beaches, annual Summer weather, etc. If you prefer hotter weather, Florida is definitely the place to be; you could also consider being out in the desert in a place like Arizona as well, lol. Wishing you all the best with everything!
@@geoffhampton9155 Hispanic ISNT a race, Hispanics can be white, black or mestizo so you saying prejudice against Blake is wild. You’re saying Hispanics are Prejudice against black Americans? This has to be a joke if so…Maybe that’s why no one talks about it because it ISNT a thing 🙄 again we don’t fall into all that prejudice and racism 💩 because we are not brainwashed by those concepts like the USA pushes on you all. You’re looking for another group of people to act victimized by? And a another minority group at that. 😅
I’m definitely thinking of moving out of Florida. Mostly because of extreme weather and home insurance, but the politics suck too. It’s not even that it’s a red state, but that it’s an extreme red state. I love the weather in FL, but not the hurricanes. Home insurance companies are out of control, and just because you have home insurance, doesn’t mean you’ll be covered when you need it. A lot of my friends are thinking of leaving too. I’m looking at AZ.
Oh brother. The "extremely Red" part is the BEST part, and if this was an EXTREMELY RED NATION, we'd start getting rid of the 💩 pouring over the borders, keep the drugs from coming in, and get the generational moochers OFF THE DOLE and IN TO THOSE JOBS that illegals were doing!!
Probably how hard it is to escape politics in this state. People bring it up all the time, wear political clothing, have it in their yards, cars, etc It’s pretty refreshing visiting other states and not seeing politics in your face like here.
Thanks for mentioning the politics. The only video I've seen about leaving FL that addresses the strife. I left FL for my health-literally. Fl is oppressive and far from freedom if you fall into an 'other' bucket. They treat you and make policies to oppress the populus. I"m a female, black scientist. For the first time in my life i experienced high blood pressure-FL stressed me the hell out at all levels.I'm proud of myself for surviving and making it out. I came to support my aging parents. One passed in 2023-healthcare sucks too. My other parent is joining me if she can make it out with.a house to sell due to hurricane roulette.
I fled the “sunshine” state. I never felt safe there. There are too many extremes. Extreme weather, extreme politics and extreme growth. The government is way too intrusive into people’s lives. It was too much for a moderate, peaceful, independent person.
Not mentioned are the costs of goods and services that are not needed in many other areas. before moving to FL, we never had to have an annual termite control policy, power pressure washing to remove mold and mildew as well as rust stains from the driveway and sidewalks, insect control both inside and outside our home, etc. The automobile and home insurance are much higher than most other areas. The majority of our neighbors have pools, so that's another expense that needs to be maintained that thankfully we don't have.
Left permanently in 2023 after spending close to 50 years total with 35 in same location of Orlando. The house insurance situation borders on extortion. No ability to hire help for love nor money. Currently living in a tiny park model home in northeast Georgia and it's affordable to age in place.
We’ve been there for 20 years…… but after all these storms, I’m ready to sell! Spent thousands making our home a home….. but with the insurance companies screwing every one over, cut my coverage but doubled our premiums!!!! We had paid premiums to coverage to replace our home…. Now it’s was cut in half!!!! Drive by your insurance company and see all the nice new cars they are all driving!!!! My grandson’s Mom had damage 2 years ago for over $65,000. But the insurance would only cut her a check for only $30,000, she had to get a second mortgage to fix her home and it was all of maybe 5 years old!!!!
I'm a snow bird ,the funny thing is most my nice florida native neighbours have moved out of state or a few to northern florida. The last bunch were bought out by these predatory investors, whom ruin the whole area turning them into horrible rentals.Just a few holdouts left .
When we visited Florida, we went in January. Even then I thought the traffic was bad. I would not go to Florida in the summer. Even the ocean is too hot then.
Writing from the Tampa Area, Pinellas County. You have to do a LOT of research before moving to Florida. If you’re moving to a coastal area, just skip every place in flood zones 1-3. Stay away from high rise condominiums, as the HOA costs are stratospheric (you basically pay your share to support, or rebuild, a high-rise building.) Every decent neighborhood will have HOAs, but you need to know what the HOA is responsible for before buying in. Apartments are plentiful, but not necessarily conducive to good living. Florida is very cosmopolitan and you may have neighbors calling their families in the middle of the night due to time zone differences. Florida politics are very weird. The trifecta in the Florida state government has taken a serious track toward bigotry and hyper-religiosity. If coastal living is your thing, you can find a nice townhouse in the price range of $350-450K within a ten to fifteen minutes drive to the nearest beach. Our townhome is zone D, 32’ above sea level, but is still only a short drive to the coast. Study the real estate values two years ago to now, but remember, while you’re deliberating “should we or shouldn’t we?” someone else is making an offer on the same place you’re “thinking about”.
they call a lot of them HALF BACKS who can't adjust and move again from north to 1/2 back, in the area from tennessee, north ga mountains, asheville area north carolina.
People do talk a lot about moving to florida. But not ever how many or why people are leaving Florida. Good twist and I like the integrated humor throughout
Im from Chicago moved to Tampa in 1997 met my wife in there who did ministry for four years and is from Holland Mi, left Tampa in 2006 i liked the heat she likes the change of seasons and dont like the heat much, i really liked Florida now looking back im like wow high insurance, tropical storms and low wages, i really font like the winter though😊
As a Gardener, i love winter. It is my vacation and chance to do indoor stuff. Winter is not so bad when you are retired. At least in Chicago, you can opt for public trans if you do not want to drive in snow.
Where have you been? How old are you? Our condos, the newer ones all are hurricane proof. They're safer than a shelter. We live in one. We've been here our whole lives. We are right in the downtown area on the water. We've been through the most recent hurricanes. It's the smaller, older buildings that crumble in a hurricane or flood. Even the windows are hurricane proof. But that's okay....stay away. We are sick of the ever growing population...all over this country and the world. Seems humans can complain and get but they don't have the self-control to quit breeding more welfare and climate acceleration babies.
FOR DECADES FLORIDA HAS SUCKED ...IT STILL DOES ...FLORIDA IS JUST NOT WORTH IT...LEFT IT BEHIND IN 2004 ...BEST DECISION WE EVER MADE ...LOVE AND ALOHA FROM HAWAII 💕🌋🏝🥥🌺🩴🩴🛖✈️🍌🍗🍍🥂🌧🚁💙🍕🕊😎🙏
I have lived here IN Manatee county for over 30 years and I wish I could be on my way out of here I used to really like it here but it really sucks now.
Nope. My friend moved to Florida and for a while liked it. She couldn't pay the rent plus hard to find a job she could physically do, and came back up to Massachusetts. Oh well. She made a go of it.
Floridas population has exploded in recent years, way too many people. Insurance costs out of control for home owners. Line ups at restaurants and traffic jams constant.
In SW Indiana wd got solar panels and during the summer we pay only a service fee of $16 for electricity per month. Utility company buys our electricity from us and the credit we do not use rolls over. The only time we pay more then $16 is in winter and even then it is reduced over what it would be. Arizona should be free all year round with our system and you have credit left.
I lived in Florida for 7 years leaving in 2021. the reasons we wanted our son and his family to live near us- he tried to get a job in SWFL and the jobs were scarce and the pays were EXTREMELY LOW! $12 an hour for an accountant with 12 years of experience and a masters degree? In addition, the heat was betting unbearable as was the over development. The community we lived in had an HOA with BIG ideas- they thought our money was their money- a multi million dollar project first done- then the building built torn down a few years later THEN an even larger multi million dollar project wound up to be $20M- the fees were out of hand, we did not need all the restaurants and bars they we proposing- we do not drink and prefer to cook at home due to health reasons- all of the people we were friends with got disgusted and moved from the community and we followed. Moved to live near our son and our grandkids- in a red state-which has 4 seasons. Yes it snows here but not often and not much- Florida has hot and hotter. We lived thru Irma in 2017 and could not deal with that again. Florida is not everything it is cooked up to be!

No state income tax is a sham, since evrything else has skyrocketd in price. You are not benefitting much unless your home is paid for, but the homeowner insurance rates, property taxes and HOA fees are extremely high.

I have a nice home in south Florida and my taxes and insurance are each about 2k. No HOA.
I lived in Floria from 2014 to 2017 and left for North Carolina. Luckily, I left there in 2019 and am now happily living in Peoria, Illinois.

Jennifer, you're right on both accounts!
It's not safe, don't come here.
It's not the heat it's the stupidity
Don't forget the humidity. Ehh...
It’s so overdeveloped it’s been ruined. They can’t leave fast enough.
I wish that were so. Over 10,000 residences have been built within 2 miles of me in the last 2 years to accommodate all the influx of people. Please don't come to Florida we have hurricanes and humid summers.
I’m a Floridian. Here is lots of continuous building, hurricanes over populated. Not a good combo.

Too many people. Too many senior citizens, and I am one. I will tough out my winters, house still standing at the end of winter. 🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸

South Florida has nice sunny warm winters. Most destroyed homes are close to the ocean/gulf.
Wow, that is so insane! Thanks for sharing, and hoping the insurance doesn't increase even more on your son!
Florida is ranked as being the worst state in the country to be a teacher.
Didn’t you know…… education is a “liberal and woke” idea!🤣🤣🤣
Because teacher are forced to teach non English speaking migrant children, added with their own classrooms which are full. It's costing taxpayers too much and too difficult for teachers to give American kids good attention. This is why Governor DiSantis has put a lockdown on more immigration here.
@@timslater566 Correction: PUBLIC school is liberal and woke. God bless

The last time I visited Florida (that'll likely remain my last time) there were traffic jams everhwhere, and it was super crowded. It held no appeal to me other than the fact that I love palm trees. But that's not enough.
Please don't return, and encourage others to never visit.👍

Where
Left South Florida two years ago to live north more and out of state (not disclosing location). 🌴☀️💯✨

Yes, housing quality is terrible and only getting worse, I have friends in construction and they tell me the details of all the horror stories; where they may want to build with integrity and quality it just isn't possible because of the politics and numbers game in their industry.
They’re getting exactly what they voted for in Florida
When lived in Florida thought is was a southern state with its hospitality. People distant. My small town New England more friendlier.
Let's a fair. Two of the best things I like about Florida it is general cleaner than most other cities. Love the super market Publix.
I enjoy visiting Florda, but there are always just overcrowded beaches in the summer, so that's frustrating
Summers in Florida are always hectic
True, as that's prime travel season for most of Florida
Yeah, no overcrowding anywhere else. That's why we don't go North in the summer.
When we visited Florida, we went in January. Even then I thought the traffic was bad. I would not go to Florida in the summer. Even the ocean is too hot then.
It's great that you are using the Italian Dolomites photo for the "mountains" Floridians are craving, lol!
Florida has become a nightmare.
This video is so accurate. Florida is way overrated and no one talks about these things 🔥
Such great valuable feedback. Thanks Brett!
This is the real truth
they call a lot of them HALF BACKS who can't adjust and move again from north to 1/2 back, in the area from tennessee, north ga mountains, asheville area north carolina.
That is, until Helene damaged those areas.
These are all reasons I'm leaving in a few years. Hurricane Milton sealed the deal.
So many people!! 😢
People do talk a lot about moving to florida. But not ever how many or why people are leaving Florida. Good twist and I like the integrated humor throughout
Scary weather in 2024
Im from Chicago moved to Tampa in 1997 met my wife in there who did ministry for four years and is from Holland Mi, left Tampa in 2006 i liked the heat she likes the change of seasons and dont like the heat much, i really liked Florida now looking back im like wow high insurance, tropical storms and low wages, i really font like the winter though😊
As a Gardener, i love winter. It is my vacation and chance to do indoor stuff. Winter is not so bad when you are retired. At least in Chicago, you can opt for public trans if you do not want to drive in snow.
They need hurricane proof buildings, which would be a dome or half a ball.
FLOODING how do u stop that as in MOVE...
FOR DECADES FLORIDA HAS SUCKED ...IT STILL DOES ...FLORIDA IS JUST NOT WORTH IT...LEFT IT BEHIND IN 2004 ...BEST DECISION WE EVER MADE ...LOVE AND ALOHA FROM HAWAII 💕🌋🏝🥥🌺🩴🩴🛖✈️🍌🍗🍍🥂🌧🚁💙🍕🕊😎🙏
Alaha from la Jolla CA... I left da shit south too .. enjoying my recovery since I escaped 😮😊
Florida needs to get rid of Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott...That would improve it immediately....
Just the opposite! DeSantis and Scott are SETTING THE BAR that the REST of the nation would be WISE TO FOLLOW.
I love New York. When I say that, I mean Sleepy Hollow, Lake George, Lake Placid, Thousand Islands.
Florida looks like a blue patchwork quilt from satellite views. How long can you tread water 🎉
if in winter - then forever
They should change their state name "the hurricane state" vrses the sunshine state
Lol, that's exactly what I thought too...!
As a native- bye, bye!
I leave orlando,fl in 2010 . too hot and job market sucks and low pay and high rent. florida was cheap in early 2000. no real public transportation.
THEY JUST DONT WANT POOR PEOPLE IN FLORIDA ! THIS IS THE REASON EVERYTHING IS SO EXPENSIVE!!!
Floridas population has exploded in recent years, way too many people. Insurance costs out of control for home owners. Line ups at restaurants and traffic jams constant.
If you move to Arizona, be prepared to spend $300 a month on electricity at least to keep from melting to death.
SOLAR PANELS ???
In SW Indiana wd got solar panels and during the summer we pay only a service fee of $16 for electricity per month. Utility company buys our electricity from us and the credit we do not use rolls over. The only time we pay more then $16 is in winter and even then it is reduced over what it would be. Arizona should be free all year round with our system and you have credit left.
Florida is dangerously expensive stay away!!!
I would never live there
Florida is a big no mainly because of the weather. Okay for a vacation in winter but never to live. I hate humidity and lots of bugs.
Yeah I always heard they got huge 🐛 bugs
They Are Leaving Now Because Of The Weather Manipulation!
Exactly! It's not "muh climate change", it's HAARP!
Can you just imagine how many insurers are looking at leaving the state?😮
