  • Washington DC's Foggy Bottom neighborhood contains a unique mix of new buildings and respect for historic and monumental buildings that is unparalleled, from The Wray to George Washington University to the Kennedy Center.
    Join us as we hear from the engineer members of The Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) DC Committee, who helped design and build many of the iconic historic and new projects.
    The Kennedy Center, The Watergate Complex, The Wray, The Charles E. Smith Center, and the Science and Engineering Hall Of George Washington University are all on this tour.
    Our guides are:
    Paul Parfitt, PE - Senior Associate at WJE: Paul has worked in the DC area for over 15 years. Paul has worked on multiple elements of the Watergate complex, including at Watergate East and Watergate West.
    Christine Reynolds, PE - Principal at WJE: Christine has over thirty years of experience in historic buildings and was the project manager for WJE’s recent work at the Kennedy Center.
    Anne Juran, PE - Vice President and Senior Mechanical Engineer at Summer Consultants, Inc: Anne was a leader of the project team that provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems design as part of a multi-discipline team for the $27.5 million occupied, phased renovation of the Charles E. Smith Center.
    David Klein, PE - Structural Engineer at SK&A:
    David was a member of the SK&A team that provided Due Diligence phase studies and also served as the Structural Engineer of Record (SER) for The Wray.
    Ed Newman - Development Manager at Insight Property Group: Ed’s responsibilities include oversight of construction, development, and capital expenditures in Insight’s multifamily portfolio. Ed Newman was the Development Manager for The Wray.
    Brian Naumick - Vice President at Edgemoor: Brian was a leader of the project team at Clark Construction that delivered the George Washington University (GWU) Science and Engineering Hall, featuring eight floors of wet and dry research and teaching laboratories totaling nearly 500,000 square feet.
    Andrea DelGuidice, PE - Associate Principal at WJE: Andrea has significant experience in building exterior enclosure commissioning and provided exterior enclosure commissioning services for the George Washington University (GWU) Science and Engineering Hall.
