Taka is my favorite male character in the entire series. And the main reason is that he taught me something that none of the other characters did. That is the meaning of effort. I first got into Danganronpa about a year ago, right around the end of the first semester of 8th grade, and I was immediately drawn to Taka as one of my favorite members of the cast. And when playing his FreeTime events, I burst out into tears. Mainly because up until 8th grade, I was seen by many people I knew as a "genius". I had perfect grades during my entire school career up until that point. But right before I got into the series, I was reaching a point where I was failing my 8th grade English Class. That was my first time ever seeing true failure, and I couldn’t deal with it. I became a nearly hollow shell of who I was normally, cutting myself off from my friends and other support systems. I had also been so independent growing up because my parents were nearly always at work, so I didn’t know how to ask for any help. I felt that I needed to do all of this on my own. And through all of that, I was only able to keep myself up through Danganronpa, it made me smile when I barely was feeling any happiness at that point in my life. Reading Taka's events for the first time made me change my outlook on everything I have ever done. And by the end of the 8th grade school year, I had managed to get my grade back up to a level where I passed my class and was able to move onto high school(which is being difficult right now because of the situation in the world) Overall Kiyotaka Ishimaru is one of the best characters ever to me, I feel that he should’ve survived and it broke my heart when he didn’t. I've always studied humanities in school because I had a natural talent for it, but recently I realized that it's not what I'm actually interested in pursuing... I want to go into science. So I've been worried going back into it that I won't excel the way I'm used to in other subjects. But like Kiyotaka says, a genius can't recover when they trip and fall. I like to think he'd be proud of me for working hard to understand science instead of just half-heartedly continuing humanities. I'm probably oversharing at this point but I just really appreciate Taka's character for sending that message, I needed to hear it.
Honestly I really like to watch taka speak when I’m feeling discouraged or want to give up, because he really is a protagonist type character with his Keep going personality. He pushes people to their best potential and pushes himself, which I think it’s a good aspect for a character. I have a theory. So you know how he was saying how you can tell who is trustworthy based on what they look like naked? Well, remember that sauna scene with mondo? I think that at some point after Makoto leaves, Mondo caved and look off his clothes showing Taka his naked body. Wich formed the "Ultimate bro bond" we see soon after.
I think that if Junko wasn't the mastermind then Ishimaru would have made a good master mind. Maybe, he would think that being a genius leads to cutting corners, corruption, and unfairness; so he tries to kills off all of the young geniuses and becomes a dictator. At least I think that's better then Junko's reason, which comes off as " I was just born this way and now I have to make it everyone else's problem"

The desperation for care and pride from others because you need people to build you up from the debilitating inner critic tearing you down, yet your own pride and dedication to staying focused and sticking to your values impedes your ability to be vulnerable. The wave of depression when your life takes an unprecedented turn or you feel like you’re losing control, so you isolate and fail to take care of yourself as your passion and energy are fading. Finally, the moment your mind snaps under all of the stress and you become a completely different person from yourself; a hyperactive, reckless, crass mess who has no regard for their safety or well-being…quite literally a “fuck it, I don’t care what happens.” I suffer from GAD and BP I and it’s definitely been rough to manage (and I suspect I may have OCPD and BPD too but can’t confirm this). I suffer from GAD and BP I and it’s definitely been rough to manage (and I suspect I may have OCPD and BPD too but can’t confirm this). It’s startling how often I completely see myself in Taka.

Taka has spent so much of his life learning right from wrong and has mainly picked what he believes is right, not what would benefit him in any way. He's an honest person and I know for a fact he'd do a way better job than his grandfather. Its sad that he couldn't make it out alive but I hope that he's happy with Mondo.
