  • Caring for Your Older Parent and Avoiding Caregiver Burnout
Some older adults need more help than others, and over time an older person needs increasing help from caregivers. Caring for an older parent can be one of the most rewarding experiences of a lifetime, but it can also be stressful and frustrating and can lead to "caregiver burnout." It's best to get help before you are overwhelmed.

This is a great video on caring for an aging parent. I like the tips about how to decide how to mediate questions between children about care for the parent.

Helping older parents remain independent, as this video points out, is very important. While some seniors may be willing to accept help, others may hesitate and be unwilling to accept help. As this article pints out, it's important to remain patient : www.jfscare.org/elderly-wont-accept-help/
