On my last cruise on the Panorama from Long Beach CA I didn't put my phone into airplane mode until a few minutes after we had left the pier and I got a charge of $80.00 for being on the Cruise Ship Cellular Service even though I had no calls and didn't use my phone during that time. Always go to Airplane Mode as soon as you board the ship.
Very interesting tip about the change in check-in timing that requires California folks to stay up until midnight. I hope Carnival returns to the old system, because checking in at 9:00p.m. has always been one of the perks of west coast living!
Grab a sandwich. They have to make it anyways... 🤷♂ Walking and drinking is one of the reasons I get on the ship early. Plus I have noticed there are not a lot of people when getting on early.

@Scott_Brust I read they actually fixed it and now is back to midnight eastern!!
