You Americans should come to your senses and use the metric system. It makes a whole lot more sense. The absolute 0 is -273,15 °C, water freezes at 0 °C and boils at a 100 °C. This information should give anybody an instant perspective on temperature. Farenheith is just silly.
You know what's best about this game? The fact that you will be so lonely and isolated that instead of murdering the first player you see without mercy you will invite them to have tea and have a deep conversation about life
+Jove Ice multiplayer is planned, but obviously, not very cared about, since, ya know, a planet is the size of the planet, and a universe is the size of a universe
Here are some things i think EVERYONE can agree apun, these are things we all want it the game. 1-Building-I wanna build structures and bases and have a little HQ 2-More weapons-I want to have some sort of bow and become a sort of big game hunter for all the mythical species. 3-Diffrent types of spacecrafts-I want to be able to transport good in BULK with some sort of cargo carrier to maximize profits if i plan on playing as a trader, as lets be honest, it would be boring, so why not make it rewarding.
Building is not the best idea. There are so many Planets and i am sure you will stay like 2 hours on one if you like it. And then you fly to another one. But i would like land vehiciles and probebly something like a van or Camper where you can store Items or sleep
Maybe voip but not regular Co op maybe only being able to play with people you come across and invite them because it's not about it being singular it's about the scale and exploring you wouldn't really explore if all you had to do was fast travel to your friend all the time.
+Daniel Torres what if u can start a session in co op and both of u spawn on a random planet and all of that, and you play and gather knowledge and resources. Then you both start a session on your own and u spawn wherever u currently are (not the co op session, that is randomly generated the first time the two of u co op, and if u go to another planet in that session you will spawn on that session the next time u 2 play coop togeter). That way you still have to explore and u cant just fast travel.
+carella211 The current local procedural generation makes networked co-op kind of impossible. Even when you turn around and fly away to come back later everything is different. You're better off asking for other things.
how about building my own camp, my own shelter? what if i decide i want to settle on one planet and never leave? i would like to be able to set up a home for myself.
These game devs don't really care about what you want, sadly. They have done their best to make it clear that they don't care about multiplayer and that they want you to explore. Sorry bro, just realize that you are losing settlement and gaining discovery, a map big enough to keep you happy for the rest of man's time, (assuming you live that long) and some fun NPCS and their lore to learn.
The game is huge, but it is barebones. Most planets wont have anything; you are just exploring a barren landscape. No space civilizations, or space phenomena. Lack of real gameplay, interaction, and adventure.

I'm really glad I pre-ordered this game...I love how you can kind of interact with other players, but not really directly! I hope we'll all work together to explore all the planets! ^_^
everything looks so polished! the galactic map had been breathtaking before, but what Sean showed off there was beyond spectacular. I can't wait to play this game and see what else IGN and Sean will bring us!
+Karmic Reballance Lowest recorded temperature on ground level was −89.2 °C in Antarctica. During winter, temperatures in Russia usually hang around -15 °C .
My cons : (probably what everyone else is thinking) The color palette looks cool but I feel like it also cheapens the game. The procedurally generated planets is great but I feel like each planet seems like different versions of the same thing. I'd rather have 10-15 dense planets than 100 billion empty ones. Cities with clubs, civilizations, public transport , shops, gambling, people to meet and join your squad. But I think this game is doing something everyone wants to do and that's explore space at your own pace from a first person view. Mace Griffin Bounty hunter did this pretty well but wasn't very rpg. Mix in that game Mass effect kotor fallout 4 and this game and I think that's would be great! I know it's a lot but I can dream. That being said much respect to Shawn Murray for pioneering space exploration this way.
definitely agree with the color palette. I think natural, vivid colors would be more compelling. these seem like someone slapped a retro instagram filter on
+Daniel Seale Yea, just based on what I see though I predict it will get a solid 9 as long as it plays as smooth as we see here without choppiness or slowdown.
+Dreadie Andy I agree, but the head of the project said that No Man's Sky is mostly exploration-based. There will be some multi-player aspects in the game, but that hasn't been revealed. NMS is basically taking GTA's world and extending it in outer space and the galaxy.
Remember when we were excited for this? I want to be taken back to that time... I wish this game was never released because the hype for it was more fun than the actual game.
That's an awesome idea considering if you come across a planet that is mind blowing you'd want your friend to explore and we all know the odds of them finding it is...well almost none.
I don't think they could do that. The planets of NMS aren't, like, Minecraft worlds. They're planets set in particular locations throughout different galaxies. They all have set locations in the universe and distances between each other. If you could go to any planet you wanted from anywhere from the very outset, it'd break the game. The whole point of the game is to get to the center of the universe-if you could teleport to a planet right next to it, there'd be no game. No journey.
Whatever you want to say about how the trailer was misleading, this gameplay is basically point for point how it was at launch. You can really see the downgrades between earlier gameplay and this, though, obviously there were limitations that had to be acknowledged, sad but true.
+R.B Riddick Sad, but i think you're right! I know it's Alpha but doesn't seem like they have a good amount of features planned.. Though i haven't searched for their development plans and timelines etc.
This game's idea/ambitions are massively impressive...but unfortunately I don't see this game having much replayability. Think about it before you attack me, you are very unlikely to run into anyone else, no friends play, no non-NPC interaction basically. Yeah you can do all this stuff but will you want to? When you boil it down you just collect resources, trade, and fly around in an endless space. I don't think this game will last
This game looks freaking amazing. I can't wait. Counting down the days. But theres one thing I wish would be added. Spaceship interiors. It would probably mostly be cosmetic, but imagine having a living quarter and bathroom and kitchen and all that. And you could hop out of the drivers seat to go and kick it. Look out a window, like the one in the station. That would be awesome
I would love to go to planets, explore, and as I'm leaving, leave some kind of inspiring message so should other players find it somehow, I'll be able to make their day better.
some of the worlds are exactly as big as our own planet eart, imagine putting a message on top of a mountain, and then finding that mountain in a sea of billions of planets
The thing I'm going to love about this is that you 100% get to forge your own story. There is no walkthrough. Everything you experience is unscripted, and I love it.
lmao i thought the same, i think it has to do with being able to explore planets in a big list, and every planet having its own unique races and stuff, very cool to have a game that makes you interact so much with undiscovered planets
scientists said it would take 4 billion years to finish the game even if all of the human race were to play it sooo I don't think your going to finish it lol
+jeremytjerry the replayability is insane! i would work to reach the center of the galaxy, but after that, i can continue to explore and find new things as if i never completed my objective.
+jeremytjerry Idk i /was/ interested till they confirmed it was going to be single player only. i was looking forward to spending hours getting fuel just to find my bff somewhere. why have the ability to name plants and animals if you cant really share it with someone?
I don't like how the host does not seem to know what questions to ask. Like when you die do you lose things; If you piss off a race enough times are you forever considered hostile. He's pretty much extra there.
I know having no mini-map is more realistic in a sandbox game like 'stranded deep' but seeing as this is space and you have access to advanced tech, I think it would be good if you can build up your own maps by placing beacons and gps chips in certain areas which would maybe open up a round area sort of like when you sync a view point in Assassin's creed.
severely limiting its already demanding graphics? maybe, maybe not. It doesn't seem like something that the studio would want to do. The PSVR is most likely be reserved for less graphically demanding games, like CoD, since a VR headset basically processes everything on the screen twice.
+PixelTwitch | PC Gaming Goodness So far the things that bother me the most is that it seems like there's maybe not much variation in the proc gen. Of course, we'll probably have to wait until the game is out but I'm a little worried there will always be buildings and animals and plants on every planet. Why was there life on a planet that's surface temp is -126 C? Why wasn't it just a dead ice planet? Will every planet just be a single biome? Maybe I'm just too skeptical.
Personally really don't get this whole stigma about 'what you actually do'. From the first trailer I saw it was self evident, you explore as many planets as you physically can on your way to the centre of the universe. The mere thought that there's billions of undiscovered ones out there that could contain all sorts of secrets and surprises is an end enough in itself for me.
TurboCMinusMinus But it does have a point to it, it plays on the human imagination and intrigue about the unknown. I desperately want to play this game more than any I can remember from the past 5 years because exploring is the point for me. It encourages players to find there own feet instead of being spoon fed action set pieces
TurboCMinusMinus I think it's more a case of having so much in a game that they can't possibly show it in a demo, I think Sean Murray has accepted a certain type of player will get bored, but he's making a game for more persistent and engaged gamers. They did actually discuss that kind of Skyrim-style game with procedural generation and he said he'd be open to it, but right now the focus is size. The fact that you won't see most of the planets makes me love the game even more.
+Tim Senna (timontheradio) Cool. Go walk infinitely in one direction in minecraft and tell me how long it takes before it gets boring. Probably like twenty minutes. Also "millions of randomly generated planets" means probably like ten different planet types that are all very minorly different. Forest planet 1 is still the same as Forest planet 5 even if you move the trees around. But in this case its "two entirely different randomly generated planets". Boring.
+Baltori Xervo I have thought this exact thing! Like not so much all the gameplay, but the idea, very similar. In Spore you pick a planet to start on, then you evolve and progress until you can leave the planet and start trying to get to the center of the galaxy. Surprisingly deep and thought provoking for what appears to be a kids game.
You know what would be pretty cool. Building a small base or settlement with an alien civilisation. Shoot off into space and at relativistic speeds and return to the planet to find millennia has passed and the little settlement you built is now a planet wide city. One can dream
To put it into perspective: Million = 1,000,000 Billion = 1,000,000,000 Trillion = 1,000,000,000,000 Quadrillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000 Quintillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (NMS will have 18 Quintillion Planets to explore) I think it's safe to say, meeting another player will be pretty rare.
+Kuba Raduszewski there is its been confirmed you can see other people many times. when someone says a game isnt an mmo that doesnt mean its not multiplayer
I feel like this game will be fun for about a month or so. Of course there will be those hardcore fans who put thousands of hours into it, but I don't see people playing this for too long.
***** The selling point I hate about this game is that they are showing off how open world it is. And they even admit that 99.9% of the game will never be visited. So why did they bother making such a ridiculously over sized game when they could have had like 15-20 randomly generated planets with a lot more depth and things to do within them. I don't see why you are comparing GTA to this, they are very different and in their own playing field.
***** I just think they bit off more than they can chew. But well see, i'll remain skeptical until the game has been out for a few months and see if it's still worth loading up.
Pingas Pearce Yeah, no mans sky wouldn't feel that rewarding because there is no end goal. Plus the fact that he says that once you leave a planet it automatically gets re-generated into a new area. So what's the point of going out and exploring when I could just leave a planet, and then immediately go back into it and it's already a completely new area.
+Sephiroth this game is completely ground breaking. I see it more as a tester for the possibility of games to come in the future. imagine the possibilities, because of developers like this. Well done I say, it looks incredible.
*Are there ship interiors?* There are now bigger ships. Its a FPS survival game, on a Long journey.. So does the player have a base/home in his/her ship? Bunk, living facilities etc? *whether RP aesthetic, or functional?*
this game is so incredible, when he's zooming out and looking at all the stars theres so many and just imagine each one has planets and each planet has moons and the scales of the planets are so huge I cant wait to see it all
"Mindless wandering" I don't think you guys fully appreciate the beauty of this game. If you're looking for constant action and excitement, this is not the game for you. This is a game for a more thoughtful player, people who like to explore, immerse themselves in space and environments, actually discovering new species and places nobody else has found before. Many of us have waited decades for this kind of game, it's a true journey to the unknown.
The way he presents the game and the way it actually is, is just completely different. 16:00 What? Play as a trader? You mean grind Heridium and Gold and go back and forward from planet to space station the whole game? Sounds mad fun I tell ya.
or drifting. and gravity if they somehow make it possible (im aware that distantly influencing gravity is not a thing). id love to be able to kill my engines and just......drift.......
+Dream Twist imagine ship interiors to walk around in ! ... nothing big ... even something small like in outer wilds would really drive the immersion ! and when hiding under the radar you would have something to do ... imagine your ship as a small apartment with a bed, workspace and a kitchen or something :D i would love that :3
Honestly? I'm impressed. This shows more character and interesting gameplay than Star Citizen ever has. And it has way more in it than Elite probably ever will. I just don't understand why they were hiding it and never showed any gameplay before. This seems worth the price to me and I'm gonna preorder.
I got it and was a skeptic 12 hours ago but no more, this is a unique experience with virtual stile to back it up so much to do and see and my planet happened to be radio active lol.
+Optamizm They invented their own periodic table. Not hard to imagine they'd invent their own galactic rules of life. Perhaps those "trees" aren't living entities at all.
oh god i jusg realized that gavin free should never be allowed to play this game because you will end up getting creatures with names like gunt mumpkin or gorp spakle everywhere
David Tran I was thinking more along the lines of physical/mental exhaustion, malnutrition and sleep deprivation or maybe a pulmonary edema from sitting too long. To think people have died playing Warcraft for too long, this is just on another level...over 18 sextillion full, planet sized maps with an almost infinite space to roam and explore....shits brilliant
Be skeptical. The game will work as advertised but I have a strong feeling this game is gonna be boring. You can't run into other players even if you stood at the same spot, you just see what changes they made. You're gonna be in a vast universe not really having much to do that's entertaining.
Thats false, If you are standing in the same spot you can see eachother and play together. The only problem is that you will never be in the same spot as someone else, So you are kinda right but wrong at the same time.
Born too late to explore the world.
Born too soon to explore the universe.
Born in the right time to do both in a video game.

I'm going to spawn on a world made of lava aren't I -_-
Lol
I understand the pain. I'll spawn on an adjacent planet with perpetual acid rain.
+Sabconth i wont even spawn in a planet, i will spawn in space and instantly die
+Jon Henry il be somewhere with choclate rain
+Sabconth Don't be silly. You'll spawn next to a star that's about to go supernova.
I love Sean so much he makes me so happy c:

well they will add base building freighters
isnt that most planets in real life anyway?
+JubJub444 in real life people can die from getting the cold. Does that mean every game should let you die from getting a cold?

they might have those things!

Agree
+erik bundersen theres no gas-planets in this game
+_HiroGashi _ There are gas planets don't listen to this guy.
+CheezeNibletz There aren't any gas giants. Sean Murray stated that gas giants would be a waste of time given the fact that you couldn't land on them.
But i've seen planets that have some sort of toxic gas on them. Or are you talking about something else?
The more I think about it.. The unknown dangerous beasts lurking below the oceans or down the caves, are basically gonna make this a horror game for all i know.
Especially if they make this a vr game. Just imagine exploring a cave only to turn around and see something behind you

I'm afraid of that ;((
there is difrent intrest to peapol to see

that is if you can reach all the way over there XD, because you gotta get fuel and stuff. However that is not a bad idea
+Arnav Chatterjee it would probably be toward the center of the universe, being that's the "main" goal. and it would probably be the largest chance to find any player there as logically people will be within smaller ranges of each other, assuming alot of people are trying to get to the center. +Brendan Forish ummmmm......ok but I'm not the one hyping this game up. Look through the comments and tell the other people that
Then why are you worrying?
+Brendan Forish Worried? Lol, you off your meds man? Calm down you are taking my comment way to serious. Just breathe brother.
Ryan Davis Dude has a problem i wouldn't give him the attention he wants lol.
Everybody has that one thing that they wish was a game. My wish was true with NMS
Same
+President Wub Wub The game isn't even out yet.
+PhilGerb93 And? What if his wish is an "infinite" space exploration game?
Jugg Energy I'd say that a good infinite space exploration game would be even better, but hey that's just me.
+PhilGerb93 Yes, it is.
I'm really glad I pre-ordered this game...I love how you can kind of interact with other players, but not really directly! I hope we'll all work together to explore all the planets! ^_^
*searches for gameplay of No Man's Sky*
*video's ad is for No Man's Sky*
everything looks so polished! the galactic map had been breathtaking before, but what Sean showed off there was beyond spectacular. I can't wait to play this game and see what else IGN and Sean will bring us!
Negative 160 degrees? Typical Russian winter...
+Karmic Reballance Celsius....
+Karmic Reballance I was born in Russia. And as a 6-year old those -160°C was rather like ordinary spring....
+Der Kuttelmann where i was in my time in russia that was a hot summer day...
+Karmic Reballance Lowest recorded temperature on ground level was −89.2 °C in Antarctica. During winter, temperatures in Russia usually hang around -15 °C .
+Doctor Chaos why so serious DOCTOOR ?
My cons : (probably what everyone else is thinking)
The color palette looks cool but I feel like it also cheapens the game.
I agree! Over time they could add more planets too.
+Apollo Gaming yea for sure man. For all I know I could be wrong but for what it's worth game does look fun.
definitely agree with the color palette. I think natural, vivid colors would be more compelling. these seem like someone slapped a retro instagram filter on
+Daniel Seale
Yea, just based on what I see though I predict it will get a solid 9 as long as it plays as smooth as we see here without choppiness or slowdown.
No Man's Sky is probably a more of a tech demo than an actual game
I hope they add a feature to where I can spawn with a friend, It would be cool to explore with a buddy :)
they've already said they wouldn't
+Riley Langston that's lame as hell
+Jonas Gammelgaard Stæhr I think I'd still enjoy it but it would be better to be able to play with a friend every once in a while
+Dreadie Andy I agree, but the head of the project said that No Man's Sky is mostly exploration-based. There will be some multi-player aspects in the game, but that hasn't been revealed. NMS is basically taking GTA's world and extending it in outer space and the galaxy.
I agree! I think demand will eventually win them over and they will do something like that.
UI, menu setup, even the fonts all sorta remind me of Destiny. Might just be me, though.
They got the idea of the ui from it
+Rian Williams Proof?
Moshi Plays Go play destiny, and watch some of the interviews
Rian Williams I've played before. But i do not think it was directly inspired by it.
Moshi Plays It took a portion of inspiration. The tab thing, except destiny has its weapons and armor and that sort of stuff in just one tab.
WE WERE SO. GODDAMN. CLOSE!
We never were. Until alternate realities are proven the delay was always going to happen
August isn't that far away.
Yes?
Teyon Alexander No. 40 Days is still a long time.
+Moshi Plays would you rather it get released with a thousand bugs?
Remember when we were excited for this? I want to be taken back to that time... I wish this game was never released because the hype for it was more fun than the actual game.
I want this game so badly
ikr IT LOOKS SO COOL
+TinyboxTim 4 more weeks :D
+QueenEtna can you play on ps4
+QueenEtna ?
+Antoine Poulain Yes!
They should make it that you can save a planets coordinates and give it to other people so that they can explore it.
+Pasha Sabaghe-Kermani thats actually a really good idea
+_-Noble-_ Sad I just say one thing: Google Atlas No mans sjy there are theories about something like that.
or multiplayer on user based servers with friends
That's an awesome idea considering if you come across a planet that is mind blowing you'd want your friend to explore and we all know the odds of them finding it is...well almost none.
I don't think they could do that. The planets of NMS aren't, like, Minecraft worlds. They're planets set in particular locations throughout different galaxies. They all have set locations in the universe and distances between each other. If you could go to any planet you wanted from anywhere from the very outset, it'd break the game. The whole point of the game is to get to the center of the universe-if you could teleport to a planet right next to it, there'd be no game. No journey.
This was the greatest NMS gameplay video to date. It showed off some awesome stuff. Thanks IGN and Sean Murray!
Whatever you want to say about how the trailer was misleading, this gameplay is basically point for point how it was at launch. You can really see the downgrades between earlier gameplay and this, though, obviously there were limitations that had to be acknowledged, sad but true.
No mans sky more like Grand Theft SpaceShip XD
"XD"
+Jacobbp48 Gaming You were born 11 years ago.
+Jack ?
+Jacobbp48 Gaming He means you're 11
NO
I want to marry Sean! Damn the game looks amazing... something tells me its going to be 10/10
***** ?
A 10? Notime!
+random 1-cent troll ^^^^^^^^
+Bazools store.iam8bit.com/products/no-mans-sky-explorers-edition check out the Explorers Edition for No mans sky. Limited to 10,000 copies worldwide.
+Bazools Game looks amazing. I just really really hope that the hype that's building over this game won't ruin it. :/
Looks like it could get boring fast.
that's what I thought too
+R.B Riddick Sad, but i think you're right! I know it's Alpha but doesn't seem like they have a good amount of features planned.. Though i haven't searched for their development plans and timelines etc.
Yes all of them 18 trillion planets will definitely get boring
+R.B Riddick you can be a spacedick though...
+TheGp999 probably will yeah..
I don't think this game will last
I could be wrong and there could be stuff that is added or not shown that will make this game much better but I personally have much faith
Hopefully they add a quadrant or coordinates system to help players meet up?? Or make huge trading outposts.
It seems like the type of game that would get boring fast. Not enough to actually do.
Have you played elite dangerous? this game has everything that game has and more. albeit elite does have much more realistic graphics.
Elite Dangerous seemed to be very boring for me. All I did was fly around for a hour or two got bored and deleted it, never launched again.
Ahh of course that shitty IGN quantum break ad getting kind of annoying now
Yup
ikr
I always get the star fox one
I actually can't stand it so much I sometimes just lose interest in the video after it and just move on to another video
Every time on a IGN video I hate it
This game looks freaking amazing.
Are there planets without life on them? I mean, -163 degrees celsius is pretty cold to have plants, trees and animals wandering around..
+Radu Ungureanu
Yet it is not our universe but their universe with its own rules
+Radu Ungureanu scifi.
Eh, fair enough I guess. Can't complain :)
+Radu Ungureanu Yes. There are barren planets.
90% of Planets are barren. 10% have life. 1% of that 10% have complex life.
+Radu Ungureanu 90% of planets will not have life. That 10% will only have plant life, and 10% of that 10% will have animals.
Who's here 7 years later celebrating the amazing game this has become?
I would love to go to planets, explore, and as I'm leaving, leave some kind of inspiring message so should other players find it somehow, I'll be able to make their day better.
some of the worlds are exactly as big as our own planet eart, imagine putting a message on top of a mountain, and then finding that mountain in a sea of billions of planets
Mac Anon Hell yeah it would be awesome.
I read somewhere that there will be a feature that allows you to leave messages behind. Can't wait!
it is confirmeed, we can leave messages to eachother, and whatever impact we have on a world will stay there forever.
Not just billions, but 18 quintillion+. Hype it!
the HUD kind of has a destiny vibe about it, anyone else see it to?
yup
Yeh that's what I thought
+TheSmilodon85 you.... you are a genius.
+yukiba fang (Gaming) I honestly thought this is what Destiny was going to be like. Only difference is that it's set in our solar system.
Coby Arnold yeh I thought it was as well, main reason I was super pumped as soon as I saw NMS
At the end when he's looking at the galactic map... That was a genuine holy sh*t moment.
Yeah...that was truly awe inspiring :)
This is insane I cant comprehend this kind of size
My gf says the same...
Simon Beresford I really walked right in to that one huh
thats exactly why it looks so boring to actually play. there isnt much to do in it... but it sure is big! lol
yeah maybe but still its a big place to explore good enough for me
seems way better compared to games like elite dangerous
The thing I'm going to love about this is that you 100% get to forge your own story. There is no walkthrough. Everything you experience is unscripted, and I love it.
Why does this game reminds me so much of Spore?! :O
3d engine looks similar.
lmao i thought the same, i think it has to do with being able to explore planets in a big list, and every planet having its own unique races and stuff, very cool to have a game that makes you interact so much with undiscovered planets
i think and you can call me stupid it´s because they had to use the spore race creator for their animals xD
indeed
you can name animals and planets
this game was built to last years. i just hope i dont get tired of it before i finish ut
it
scientists said it would take 4 billion years to finish the game even if all of the human race were to play it sooo I don't think your going to finish it lol
+jeremytjerry the replayability is insane! i would work to reach the center of the galaxy, but after that, i can continue to explore and find new things as if i never completed my objective.
***** true
+jeremytjerry Idk i /was/ interested till they confirmed it was going to be single player only. i was looking forward to spending hours getting fuel just to find my bff somewhere. why have the ability to name plants and animals if you cant really share it with someone?
I'm glad i had realistic expectations and turned out addicted to the game rather than disappointed.
+wonszlol their expectations lied to them. not the devs
You people are the problem with this industry.
3:14, planets rotating on it's axis, this is a simulation, no skybox, other games use painted stars. Etc etc etc. Not in game.
If you had realistic expectations you probably decided that Sean wasn't telling the truth. Which is pretty remarkable. Kudo's.
lol you say that like it excuses the fact that he straight up lied here
I'm not gonna judge this game until I've put many hours into it. From everything I've seen so far it looks like the game I've always dreamed of.
I don't like how the host does not seem to know what questions to ask. Like when you die do you lose things; If you piss off a race enough times are you forever considered hostile. He's pretty much extra there.
This game is a Dream come true for me. A game that basically never ends and completely seamless. Take my money.
yeahh
+ProAssassin 84 people will be streaming the hell out of this game.
so minecraft?
+Westendbuddah But much better.
+ProAssassin 84 completely seamless?
I know having no mini-map is more realistic in a sandbox game like 'stranded deep' but seeing as this is space and you have access to advanced tech, I think it would be good if you can build up your own maps by placing beacons and gps chips in certain areas which would maybe open up a round area sort of like when you sync a view point in Assassin's creed.
Just watched a IGN advert on a IGN video.
Freaking geniuses.
I hope they make this able to play with the Vive that would be amazing.
+Jamia Dixon I totally agree
severely limiting its already demanding graphics? maybe, maybe not. It doesn't seem like something that the studio would want to do. The PSVR is most likely be reserved for less graphically demanding games, like CoD, since a VR headset basically processes everything on the screen twice.
An Average Guy "less graphically demanding games"
all steam games are 4 vive m8
I'm sure Sony would _love_ that...
The release date of NMS is the 22nd of June. That is 35 days from the moment this comment was... commented.
nice im gonna by it plus you dont need xbox live right?
+Italiangamma87 oh no. poor you. it's not available for xbox. (not sure if joking)
+Chris Rodriguez is that a insult
Italiangamma87 No, It is true: NMS does NOT come out for XBOX One.
+Italiangamma87 i did hear Microsoft "really" wants this game so it might in the future
The planets don't rotate around their axis. The planets are grouped together and the sun circles around them.
planetary rotation used to be a feature, but it was removed for being too confusing
at first glance this appears really epic... Then I cannot shake the feeling that its just a really cool visualization of seeds...
+PixelTwitch | PC Gaming Goodness just a Starbound in 3D lol.
+intereality they've said planets with life on are the rarity. many planets will be toxic and have no life on.
Good to hear. I haven't spent much time keeping up with news on the game cause I'm still feeling sort of lukewarm towards the game.
I don't know either it seems as if they're purposely being stupid
TurboCMinusMinus But it does have a point to it, it plays on the human imagination and intrigue about the unknown. I desperately want to play this game more than any I can remember from the past 5 years because exploring is the point for me. It encourages players to find there own feet instead of being spoon fed action set pieces
+TurboCMinusMinus I agree
Boring.
lol. that actually reminds me of spore, just in very very high quality
How?
+Gabriel Mendez I do know where he is coming from with the space stage and the creatures but it doesn't play like spore.
This game has that spore feeling, similar graphic style, and in both games your journey is to get to the center of the universe.
+Baltori Xervo the textures didn't look very high quality neither did the space ships
Btw for all u guys. When he says hack he means use atlas pass
I really really really hope this game is going to survive to its hype. And I mean really.
You know what would be pretty cool. Building a small base or settlement with an alien civilisation. Shoot off into space and at relativistic speeds and return to the planet to find millennia has passed and the little settlement you built is now a planet wide city. One can dream
+rushbh100 Ha ha, that's never gonna happen.
I knoww :(
To put it into perspective:
Million = 1,000,000
Billion = 1,000,000,000
Trillion = 1,000,000,000,000
Quadrillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000
Quintillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (NMS will have 18 Quintillion Planets to explore) I think it's safe to say, meeting another player will be pretty rare.
+Kuba Raduszewski there is its been confirmed you can see other people many times. when someone says a game isnt an mmo that doesnt mean its not multiplayer
With all the creatures being randomly generated, there's bound to be some phallic-looking ones
My summer is gone... :'(
+YourHeartRazor same :P but its so worth it
+DewbayFood Exactly! :3
Summer? More like my whole life...
+YourHeartRazor rip in sunshine
hello darkness my old friend
Please don't disappoint this looks fantastic
This aged bad but then it aged well idk how to explain it
i'm going to find the most toxic planet and i'm going to mane it the CSGO community.
lmao
+CrazHigH same here but call it mass effect 3 ending or better yet EA
loop polio zoo
+CrazHigH - Make sure it's also filled with salt.
+CrazHigH Hahaha that is a great idea!
no loading times in the game huh ? so whats the hyperdive scene when you jump systems ? A LOADING SCREEN !!
+AquaTitanPrime Gta is a game you can finish. No mans sky is not. I dont feel motivated to play i game that i know i will never finish in a lifetime.
I am soooo happy I just learned about this game because I would not be able to wait 2 years for it to come out
*Are there ship interiors?*
There are now bigger ships. Its a FPS survival game, on a Long journey..
So does the player have a base/home in his/her ship? Bunk, living facilities etc? *whether RP aesthetic, or functional?*
this game is so incredible, when he's zooming out and looking at all the stars theres so many and just imagine each one has planets and each planet has moons and the scales of the planets are so huge I cant wait to see it all
lmao that temperature change
+bumboo100 lotta trees and grass on there considering its a constant -163 C too, heh
+dasuberpanda There was silicone in this trees.
And for silicon based organisms 160 could be bit more fair.
+darknessofevil117 everyone except 3 countries (including the US) uses Celsius.
+darknessofevil117 you know their is Google to translate. And we're I'm from 30-40f isn't that cold
it was just weird that it jumped so high as soon as he entered the cave
"Mindless wandering" I don't think you guys fully appreciate the beauty of this game. If you're looking for constant action and excitement, this is not the game for you. This is a game for a more thoughtful player, people who like to explore, immerse themselves in space and environments, actually discovering new species and places nobody else has found before.
Many of us have waited decades for this kind of game, it's a true journey to the unknown.
If you are "discovering" planets for the first time, why are there traders flying above them and onto the planet?
those are NPCs. you are the first real player there but not the first in game creature.
you are basically discovering it and naming for your race. that's what I think.
I thought he said those are all going to a space station, not the planet itself.
yeah and there are already buildings on the planet from traders...
Maybe he meant the first Humans to discover those planets.
The way he presents the game and the way it actually is, is just completely different. 16:00 What? Play as a trader? You mean grind Heridium and Gold and go back and forward from planet to space station the whole game? Sounds mad fun I tell ya.
Now if we have a Respected Beta tester who would make a Death star and make an Imperial Faction and be an Antagonist to everyone in the game
I hope they add more stuff through patches like autopilot and space whales
+Dream Twist autopilot would be cool!
Gojira?
or drifting. and gravity if they somehow make it possible (im aware that distantly influencing gravity is not a thing). id love to be able to kill my engines and just......drift.......
Same imagine if shutting off your engines could be implemented to drop off the radar and hide
Goombalo10 Have you played Elite: Dangerous? Cos I'm playing it a lot and enjoying it. And there's a lot less to do in that game.
Tom S.
I guess if that's what you like.
I got it and was a skeptic 12 hours ago but no more, this is a unique experience with virtual stile to back it up so much to do and see and my planet happened to be radio active lol.
If we could just build structures and make a home base this game would be perfect
I was SUPER skeptical at first but god dammit I am so excited for this game now
the zoom out to the universe showing all the different solar systems blew my mind wow
Trees in -163c temps? Not likely!
Exactly!
its possible since we really have no clue . we never landed on planets yet
+Optamizm They invented their own periodic table. Not hard to imagine they'd invent their own galactic rules of life. Perhaps those "trees" aren't living entities at all.
+zoid bergla LMAO. Amen!! Respect!! 🙏🙏👌👌👌👌
It's A GAME not going for realism...
oh god i jusg realized that gavin free should never be allowed to play this game because you will end up getting creatures with names like gunt mumpkin or gorp spakle everywhere
Mark my words, some one WILL die playing this game, especially when it becomes VR compatible.
I hope it's not me xD
+greenified22 *Quintillion. Over 18 000 000 000 000 000 planet sized planets not counting their moons.
+greenified22 Why would anyone want to play this in VR with these severely dated graphics?
Jonathan Ziman Because the graphics still look amazing.
Why is this 60fps and the real game just 15-20 fps? What's with the empty promisses?
I find it impossible for a team of 10 to produce such content in such short time
As much as I am hyped , i grow weary and skeptical ...
you should watch some of their tech demo videos. they show and tell you how everything is created procedually :)
Be skeptical. The game will work as advertised but I have a strong feeling this game is gonna be boring. You can't run into other players even if you stood at the same spot, you just see what changes they made. You're gonna be in a vast universe not really having much to do that's entertaining.
Every game isn't about playing with other people. If you aren't into science or nature, then you may not have a interest in the game.
Thats false, If you are standing in the same spot you can see eachother and play together. The only problem is that you will never be in the same spot as someone else, So you are kinda right but wrong at the same time.
I hope they don't do farenheit. farenheit is so stupid.
so is Celsius.
Where you grew up it is, but here in the grand ol United States Fahrenheit is a Norm.
American metric system is stupid.
Polo R your opinion.
+Polo R it took us to the moon so it's not that stupid.
1:20 why do they need to show Fahrenheit on there it is clearly translated into American for us to the upper right... "Extreme Cold"
My only issue is the planets aren't Dense enough. They seem way too bland, cities really need to be added..

+Eidos2012 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Well i was thinking of taking a trip outside this summer.
