what about from a down position from your knees? Im doing lessons for a friend of mine and want to explain it to the best of my ability but cant word it right. especially since she finds it easier to throw from her knees. but it needs work. i was self taught and learned from my own mistakes. So how would you word or show how to throw down from your knees?
I never see any college catchers throwing from their knees. I’m talking about your Oklahoma, Florida, auburn, UCLA, Florida st, Alabama, Norte dame, I can keep going on and on. Even baseball players are rare to find throwing from their knee or squat position. I get into debates all the time about this. I was a catcher and my pop up throw to 2nd base was 1.88. I could somewhat throw it to third and first on my knees but it was to only tell that runner I c u , try to run on me. I was a muscular 18 yr old 5”11 210lbs back then. Girls I typically see catching are 5”7 to 5”8 but with good muscle tone. I just don’t think throwing from Kees should be pushed on young kids maybe teach this technique for a more experienced player. Just my thoughts.
thanks! id say im a decent thrower any other time but i have hard times getting the ball to second base when throwing down.
Do you recommend groin protection?
