If your husband died when both of your children were still in school, lady (and I use that term simply because she is a woman), then you go to work to support your children, not make one of them drop out of school to get a job and support YOU.
Narcs don't care about their scrapgoat child they deem inferior. In the mom's mind, it was what was best for her and not her kids. Narcs are super selfish and self centered. She only loves the favorite for what the favorite child can do get HER only. Classic narc behavior.
That mom is seriously screwed up in the head. She treats one daughter like crap just because she's not "beautiful" and tries to use the pretty daughter as her personal Roth IRA and 401k.
that would not be nice, leaving his children with such crappy mother, could have payed or acted himself to ..., if he got jailed then the children might have been raised by his parents/sibling, which would be nicer than leaving them ...
I was frozen into obedience. Finally kicked my older sister out of my life in my forties. She only tried to end me once, she was the easiest of the lot of them to ditch.
It’s because of two reasons. The brainwashing you receive from that toxic person over years of abuse. The second is you cling to the hope that you will finally get the approval, love, and support you’ve craved all those years.
Usually, the oldest one is expected to marry first in most of these stories. And most families used to try to get their ugliest daughters married off quickly.
I'd keep a pic of Melina's mom in Grim Reaper clothes. If their future children ever wonder why they don't see that grandma just show them the picture.
My mother was so the opposite. She wouldn't let us subsidize her SS in her later life. We had to lie to her about the EBT card we got her qualified for by saying it was a perk of Social security for senior citizens. Definitely not food stamps mom.
When mom said that Melina could now be her favorite daughter...I would have said, "Have you lost your mind completely? I'll call the guys with the fashionable coats and they'll take you to a really nice padded room for you to retire in..."
if my future mother-in--law came to my wedding dressed as a Reaper....I say: COOL. I make a seat for her. And later at the after party I ask my wife what the next thing to do would be. But whatever happens I would cherish those wedding photos
Lol it'd be a funny pic...but it would irritate the crap outta me to see that photo EVERY DAY- the MILs have way too much power in these stories for absolutely no reason- I mean, I get it if she's rich or something (lol groceries are expensive!!)- but otherwise, especially if she's been toxic her whole life, they are the most expendable ones in the new family!! I don't get why the wedding party wouldn't all be pointing and laughing and calling the little men in white coats out for her immediately after seeing her dressed like that- mom's finally lost it, time to put her in a home!!😂 Actually, seeing her get dragged off in Death Reaper cosplay with everyone else dressed up in wedding attire- with cops and doctors running around everywhere- lol now that'd be a great photo😂😂
This woman is out of control. She wouldn't play along nicely. Even if she doesn't use the scythe she would do horrible things such as destroying the wedding cake.
My best friend from University was a university professor until he got his promotion and is now a Dean of Engineering. His wife is a secretary and thus never went to university. Taught a 14 year old who was fluent in 11 languages from hard like Mandarin Korean and Japanese to easy like English French and German.
I agree with Ken. ...There are real un-gifted and under-motivated people in universities and colleges. HOWEVER the school systems overall are extremely faulty with the truly gifted students.
So glad the sisters are friends- lol sigh, trauma bonding is real. And why would an old lady (who is projecting hard) in cosplay be enough to cancel a wedding?? Why wouldn't everyone just point and laugh?? Or call a nursing home or something?? Lol are we sure her dad didn't die of exhaustion😂😂
Now, the image of the elderly mom sitting around the wedding , in the Reaper robe, texting away, with the genuine scythe propped on one shoulder... AI plotting.
Lady with a Mother like that you don't need your mother's permission to get married what's the argument for just ignore her you know she didn't love you that's a wicked Mother all you have to do is have the Security exhort her out
After listening to the story, I've 2 thoughts: In reference to the relationship between Toxic Mum and Luna, is she what's referred to a "helicopter" mum? Also, I'm thinking that Toxic Mum was trying to live the life SHE wanted through her youngest daughter Luna. I'm not a parent, but if I were, I'd encourage my children to live the lives THEY want, to pursue THEIR dreams. Okay, I'd give them the occasional piece of advice/guidance when required. Other than that, as the quote goes: "Your life is yours and yours alone. No one has the right to take it from you. That's right - no one. Not even your parents" (Natsuki Takaya).
I agree 100% with your 2nd paragraph! I am a parent, and I paid for my daughter to go to a stage school just in case she inherited my genes! She did very well there and, out of all the students who passed the drama exam, she was the only one to get the pass *with distinction!* However, a part of the course was learning about stage make-up, which she loved and indicated that that's what she wanted to do. Due to circumstances, she later left the school to go to a normal school, after which I sent her to college where she qualified in all aspects of beauty treatments. In short, I believe in giving our children as many opportunities as we can so they can make the ultimate choice themselves. On a personal note, you sound like the kind of parent that a child deserves! 😊
My best friend was a university professor. He is now a Dean of Engineering. His wife was a secretary. She is a lovely lady but she never went to university either as family could not afford her going to University
Not that it should dictate the present but if you go by tradition the first born would marry first not the other way round. Also how do you blame somebody for dropping out if you are the one who made her drop out? Side note irl when I was a teen my dad got layed off from his job. I asked him if he needed me to drop out since I went to Catholic school so it cost money. My dad said no way. No matter what he’d support my education so he took a job pumping gas until he got rehired and he painted the sacristy for the nuns for a reduction in tuition.
I can't believe Melina would pass up the opportunity to be the favorite child. Especially after her mom said, "Beggars can't be choosers". I mean, what more does she want? Am I right?
@@whistlerwind7422 😆 D'oh! You got me! I wasn't quick on the uptake, was I? Serves me right for responding either late at night after a 15-hour working day or first thing in the morning before I've finished my first cuppa!! 😘
Melina, why are you worried about what your toxic mother is saying to anyone. Cutting her out of your life is just that cutting ties and going no contact. Melina you don't have a mother, STOP calling her mom. She's been DISOWNED by both her daughters NOW.
If your husband died when both of your children were still in school, lady (and I use that term simply because she is a woman), then you go to work to support your children, not make one of them drop out of school to get a job and support YOU.
That's because mom's a narcissist

Call Security and have your mom escorted out of the venue!😢😮
Are we sure the dad didn't off himself just to get away from the 'mom'?
Melina should put her mom in the worst retirement home she can find
that would not be nice, leaving his children with such crappy mother, could have payed or acted himself to ..., if he got jailed then the children might have been raised by his parents/sibling, which would be nicer than leaving them ...
If jumping to conclusions was a form of transportation, this ‘mother’ could start in Sacramento and land on the Jersey shore in 30 seconds flat
I laugh to hard at this! 😂 the sad reality is I know someone like this and I am related to them (not my mother, my paternal grandmother)
That mother is more toxic than any of the Poison type Pokémon.
That's a good one
Ha ha!
@@disneygirl4life675 Why thank you. *(bows)*
Why does Melina bother associating with her toxic mother? Throw her out of your wedding as she’s not even a invited guest.

I'll bet the girls' father died so he could get away from his wife.
There are some people who don't deserve to be a parent, this lady being one of them.
Usually, the oldest one is expected to marry first in most of these stories. And most families used to try to get their ugliest daughters married off quickly.
This one wasn't even really ugly. She just looked like her dad.

That's one heck of a mother there!
Hard to believe there are actual people out there for real.
What is this Craziness about somebody getting married first because they're educated. What kind of mother treats their child like this!
Why did the mom bring along a dangerous farm tool?
She went as the grim reaper and they carry a scythe....
@@cathyb1273 She insisted on finding a real one though. Trespassing carrying a dangerous weapon. Wonder what the police would think about that.
