- कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने पिछले लोकसभा चुनाव केरल की वायनाड और यूपी की अमेठी सीट से लड़ा था, लेकिन उन्हें स्मृति ईरानी ने चुनाव हरा दिया था. राहुल गांधी ने सिर्फ वायनाड से सीट दर्ज की थी. इस बार भी कांग्रेस ने वायनाड से राहुल गांधी को चुनावी मैदान में उतारा है, लेकिन अभी तक अमेठी को लेकर संस्पेस बरकार है.
दरअसल, अमेठी सीट 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में राहुल गांधी की हार से पहले कांग्रेस का गढ़ मानी जाती थी. ऐसा इसलिए, क्योंकि इस सीट से राहुल गांधी 2004, 2009 और 2014 में लोकसभा चुनाव जीते थे.
