This technique does not make sense to me. Why will a sheet transfer when you can print it directly? On a blouse or something like this makes sense, but not on a sheet that you can put on a printer.
To test that the stencil print will come out the way you expect it to on something cheap and disposable, rather than skrewing up a shirt that will be more expensive to replace.

What kind of paper have you used for the stencil?
Freezer paper! It is waxed and shiny on one size, and matte on the other. You want the shiny side up when you are screen printing.
